I sometimes put some silicone mass on to close the gaps. Use definitely not the acid based bathroom silicicone, but the acid free stuff! It seals the unit a bit better.
Thanks for showing us this. I upgraded to the D1 remote last year so battery replacements have been on my mind. I was an electronics tech in the Air Force so it seems like I'm constantly waiting for things to break. You should have changed out your keypad while you were in it.
I will probably be replacing my D1 remote keyboard soon. I have never had to replace the Deus remote battery. I have had to replace 2 hf coil batteries, I have an mi4 pinpointer that has dead battery, I need to order a replacement.
I have a fault in my elliptical HF and it took me two battery changes to figure it out. It's out of warranty so I'm not sure it's worth fixing so I might as well just buy a new one.
Next time you put on a screen protector that is bigger like the one you just cut down ,make it bigger to cover above the screen right up over the deus logo ,if you have enough , that will give it more area to stick to as on the D one they can easily lift on the screen edge on the sides,I round the corners to stop them getting caught on stuff this also helps keep them from lifting.I buy screen protectors for large size tablets when they are on clearance sales and cut them to fit ,you can get a lot out of a 12 inch one 😮😊
My remote screen has an extra layer protection by the pleather case. If the remote is on the shaft...it will need screen protectors often. I do not hunt with my detector on the shaft. The Deus 1 remote screen scratches very easy without a screen protector. Thanks for the tips Rusty.
i bought a back up lcd screen mine have a spot on the right of it it dont effect seeing anything but i got one as backup and a new front cover im going to get the side and top and bottom rubber peaces to refurb it as it was well used other then the 10 inch round coil it looked brand new i cant beleave i got 2 hf coild and the x35 with it with 2 sets of big headphones and a set of ws4 for 300
The battery is held in place with double sided sticky tape on all three of my D ones . Dust inside the case is a usual occurrence where I live here in Western AU,hey what happened to your scooter?
@@PaystreakSuperfreak sorry to hear that it was stolen. I enjoyed your scooter detecting videos as I was going to get a scooter for the same purpose ,ended up with ebike instead, can carry everything easier in saddle bags and on the front and back racks.take care keep digging 😀

If you buy on Amazon or EBay...you might be buying a battery that has been on the shelf for 3 years. Always buy XP batteries from an authorized dealer, might be a couple bucks more than Amazon, but you know the battery is fresh.

Where can a battery for the remote be found? My battery life has dropped off a cliff. From 8-10 hours down to 4-5
