- To Zanarkand may be one of the most beautiful piano ballads in all of video game history. This arrangement is one taken from Final Fantasy X Piano Collections, arranged by Masashi Hamauzu.
I have long been a huge fan of the remarkably arranged Final Fantasy Piano Collections series, and this has to be one of my favorites throughout the entire collection.

I am also 33 and final fantasy music brings such mad emotions to my heart, I still cry to Areith theme to this day whenever I heard. I remember being a kid to this game and when I knew it was coming out and it was the first ever fully voiced final fantasy i was so hyped I ran home everyday to play it
Same ill be 34 in June and FF music will always hold a special place especially FF8, 9 and 10.

This song reminds me of my cousin... He played all the final fantasy titles. Shortly after he passed away and every time I listen to this song I feel bad because it reminds me of him.

Same here man. I had an older cousin that was like a big brother. A huge part of my childhood was influenced by him with regards to gaming, anime, movies, and much more, although I really didn't fully realize it until he was gone. Both him and his younger brother died from covid in 2020. They were only in their mid 40s. I think for the rest of my life I'll think of them whenever the old games and anime experiences I shared with them come up. Things have hit differently and will continue to do so, To Zanarkand and FFX as a whole included. To our cousins. May we see them again in the next life.

I’m surprised by this game playing for the first time this year. This theme really does capture Tidus through the game and who he is. A bright soul having to deal wit a lot of pain over his dad and losing his home.
This theme hits so hard when you finally get to Zanarkand and realize that Tidus is back home but not like the one he recognizes at all where instead it’s ruins

Idk if old times are better than now, but when i played this game when i was a kid and listened to this song... yeah, it feels like that past moment, that "old" moment... was just perfect. Beautiful interpretation, thank you, i really mean it.
I just want to share I remember hearing this song when I was 6 years old back in 2001 and I never forgot it. For years it never left me until one day, on my 21st birthday, I decided to go out and buy a weighted keyboard and this was the first song I learned. Complicated but worth it. Music is the closest thing to magic in this world. Like a universal language we can all experience and feel in a moment together. This song will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks for sharing.

You know. I love how this song could have different meanings for each person. For me: it represents all the loved ones that never got to see what I prosper. That’ll never meet my son. That’ll never got to see what I did with my life. To me that’s my Zanarkand and I wish I could show them.
This theme perfectly complemented the underlying melancholy of FFX. Whenever it was played, it served as a gentle reminder that, no matter how many levels or skills your party acquired, the ending would ultimately be a tragic one.

This video popped up for whatever reason, amazing! Me and my cousin would play games on the ps2 together all the time, we shared a room in high school and we each had our own ps2 and would play the same final fantasy game to see who could beat it the fastest! and we'd just watch one another play too, I miss her so much.

for many people dragon ball or pokemon was their gateway drug to anime. this song right here was mine. and 6 years into my journey of learning this insane song im still not even half way through the 1st bridge. its one thing to appreciate this from an audience perspective its another to learn to play it. also for anyone who wants to learn it its a great song for the whole process as it teaches many many things in relative progression from chord structure to chord progression
My dad always enjoyed music. My sister got a ps2 and ffx and he really enjoyed its music. I often remember hearing him play this on his keyboard in his studio. He hasnt really been all there since a few years ago but just the other day i heard him listening to this again. Inreally want to get him back to where he can play music and enjoy his hobbies again

I love piano it's my favourite instrument, not learning to play it is the only regret I have in life.
I don't know how to explain it really but it's such a simple (I'm no expert so if I'm wrong please excuse me) and beautiful piece of music that it touches me deep in my soul.
I can listen to this on repeat and I'll never get bored of it, its been played by an entire orchestra but nothing compares to it being played solely on the piano.

Thank you for this, such a beautiful song, for such a beautiful and amazing game. I use to play this with my grandfather, and we both loved it. At the time, long ago neither got to finish it, I was too young to figure it out, and his save corrupted. He passed away and never got to finish it, so I did and I think of him everytime playing it. It's my favourite game with some of my best memories, truly appreciate this piece and you.

Started piano 3 months ago and finally just learned this song. The long arpeggio part is quite slow compared to you but I'm really happy to get the rest at a reasonable state haha. Thanks for showing me your fingering on the video, helped a lot as a beginner.
