The Final Fantasy VII Remake is finally upon is. This soundtrack is truly timeless and the piano collections are some of my all time favorite pieces of music. This melody in particular is just hauntingly beautiful. It starts ever so hopeful, though melancholic, then eventually spirals into uncertainty and despair. I can't wait to save Midgar one more time.

I’ve never played the game, don’t know much about it, but this song always makes me cry. There’s a sense of wonder, and courage to it.

Please play it. I'd consider this a "must complete before you die" game. The story, the characters, the music... It's a straight up masterpiece. The story alone is just amazing.

it's summer 1997... The world is bigger than i thought, stories can be played with the new playstation that my brother bought me for my birthday. Thing is, i'm Italian, i'm 6 years old and games are made in English. Even more, FF has slang in it. But that music, that visual, i really wanted to understand it, i really felt the sadness throught the music. But again, Italian 6yo kid, all i had was a dictionary, and with that i started learning english just to be able to play the game.It's been such a boost for my culture... I own that game the person i've become today. Still love games, 23 years later, i'm still super curious about the world, the stories, different languages... i've learnt a lot, achieved a lot too, still learning because once you start, you'll never stop. Those times are gone, but i remember them strongly when i listen to this piano collection...

I was born in 84 and I got Final Fantasy IV for Christmas from "Santa". Little did I know it would be one of my favorite RPG games to play and years later getting FF VII. Most of the Final Fantasy soundtracks have been awesome! The music is haunting in a good way... whenever I hear these tunes it takes me back. I play the piano so I've been going back to the Final Fantasy Piano Collections trying to learn the songs! Thanks for sharing!

This brings back a memory from my first experience with FF7 the original.
You escape down the motorway. You fight the boss. You defeat it.
You step outside Midgar, then and only then do you realise that Midgar was just the beginning.

Damn man. I have been studying a lot of Bach and Debussy recently, and I have to say, I truly believe Uematsu is the greatest living composer.
I'd put Yoko Shimomura up there with him.
Oh I love Debussy, sometimes all I can think about is Depussy Oh yes, when Debussy is young that is when Debussy is the best. If you are listing to both, make sure you finish on the Bach, NEVER finish on Depussy

For me it's a song about hope. Which fits your description pretty well I think because without suffering there won't be hope for a better tomorrow and hope is a beautiful feeling.

@@realtyronne9916 My first playthrough was completely different. My buddy and I rented the game and we kinda missed the part about catching a chocobo....stupid 7th graders. Anyway we tried to beat that thing 100 times and failed every time. We finally figured out how to catch a chocobo and were like, oh shit Sephiroth is a badass! I don't remember my party. I think ive gone through midgar with all possible combinations.

Legitimately started crying the second I heard those first few notes. I've never even played the games but there's something so intimately beautiful about this song that pulls at the heartstrings

Me as a 5 year old sitting cross legged on the floor bugging my uncle to let me play… he always said this and tifa’s theme was his fav song before he took his life. Playing Tifa’s theme in the FF7 demo as Cloud had me broken for an hour at least 😭

My dad used to always play this game. He loved it! After a while he finished it and almost forgot about it. Recently he reinstalled FF7, And more on his PS4. Whenever he plays it, it makes me smile! I want to become a pianast so I can play him this. I've already been practicing piano for a while. I used to have a app that I could follow songs on with my keyboard (WASD+) I tried playing songs, but it never worked out

I’m actually a younger fan who just fell I love with fandom the game even though I haven’t played the game but I grew up watching my older brother play and watched the movie when I was younger.

I had this whole soundtrack on a couple of MiniDiscs. I was world building this entire game in my mind before I even got it, and it was my first RPG(1997 Playstation).
Not very far into the remake, I like it a lot, I wish I could return to midgar once undiscovered by a school going me.

1997 FFVII was released, and a year later Ocarina of Time. Those two games proved to the world that video games were works of art and not just cheap entertainment. Listen to this soundtrack or Zelda’s and try to prove me wrong. Invest yourself into their stories of heroism and triumph, grief and loss, and the timelessness of these gems will speak for themselves.
Final fantasy 7 is my lifetime favourite.

I’ve played this game by pure chance. I bought a second hand ps4, and the game came with it. I decided to give it a chance, and it completely won my heart over. I loved it. It’s one of the best games I ever played. I can’t wait to play part 2.

Videogames ARE the eight art, and this game is proof. Absolute masterpiece.

This is from the Final Fantasy VII piano collections, which has been out for over 10 years. There's a full album for each of the main games, and VII's includes Tifa's Theme and Aerith's Theme for those of you who want more of this. :)

to this day, this song brings so many happy memories playing the original. It's like my mind was born anew. Who I was before 1997 no longer existed. From 1997-Present I am still that same person on that floor back at my original home with eyes filled of emotion caring for polygon characters.
Anyways, my favorite rendition of Final Fantasy Main Theme comes from the end credits scene in FF9. Where it transitioned from Melodies of Life. It was such an amazing transition to the main theme, that I always get chills.

I wish I could play like this. One of my regrets as a kid was not wanting to continue piano lessons. My piano teacher moved away when her daughter got into college when I was in junior high. When I think about it now, I wish I had tried to find another teacher to continue with lessons.

I’m in 6th grade on the black top and my friend keeps gushing about some game he’s been playing. I’ve never heard of it. He says something about a guy named “Sefirooth”. I can hear him but I don’t understand what he’s talking about. We continue to play handball and it fades from memory. Some months later, I’m in Barnes and Noble with my brother and grandmother and I’m less interested in the selection of books as I am the few video games they have, one of which is Final Fantasy VII for the PlayStation. The cover catches my eye. I pick it up read the back. It feels familiar. I’ve heard about this game but I can’t figure out where. We ask grandma if she’ll buy it for us and of course she does because she’s grandma. I take it home and start playing and I’m instantly hooked. I still can’t out my finger on where I know this game from. At least until we get to the Shinra tower and it all comes back. Sefirooth. OOOH. SEPHIROTH. My mind was blown. I started connecting dots. The game had already been out for years and I wasn’t in regular contact with my old friend anymore, but all I wanted to do was talk Final Fantasy VII. That was 22 years ago for me.

you get it right! the story is pretty obscure. It starts with hope, but then the protagonist loose himself, his identity, everything, he lost himself. Also the loss of death and murder of his best friend and his/friend-cush/love. The story is a masterpiece

Just finished the remake yesterday and the soundtrack is just incredible, almost as good as the original.

Nobody with any musical taste... Or human emotion could thumbs down this song.
Videos and covers like yours always made me kind of jealous. So I sat down the next moment, trying to master a song like this, really trying to become as good as you. This motivation never lasted long, so I failed over and over again. I never finished what I started.
Few years later I realized, how negative the consistency of my motivation was. How bad and sad the feelings were, which conquered my willpower, blocking a constant progress...
And today, 10 years later, I'm listening to your music... full of happiness, love and joy... now I can...
now I can leave this wonderful work to you, be happy for you, appreciate what you've learned and mastered, and simply enjoy what I hear...
