Considering all factors and personal preferences, which phone on this list (Honor 90, Samsung A54, Google Pixel 7a, Realme 12 Pro Plus, Redmi 13 Pro Plus, Nothing Phone 2a, Google Pixel 6a, Samsung A55) would be the most compelling choice for you if you could only have one?
I would prefer Honor 90
From that list, for the cameras, at least, I would go for the Pixel 7a, partly because of its much higher DXOMARK rating than the others
I thought the output was in some cases better than the Pixel 7 Pro (better dynamic range, impressively more colour tones rendered in a forest scene, though not quite as good as the Pixel 8 in terms of details resolved and noise.
Better main camera than the Honor 90, I noticed more sharply resolved detail in 4K head-to-had. If the 7a didn't exist or the Honor was, say £250, I would seriously consider it and a Gcam port but I found the Honor 90's default presentation a bit too contrasty for my liking; if you're in a country with a lot of dull weather, it can make some shots look stark, overly dramatic. I think the Honor 90's selfie cam is better than the Pixel 7a, though, so it depends how you intend to use the cameras. Also, the Honor has an excellent screen.
If a zoom is important to you, I would go for the Realme 12 Pro Plus. The colours aren't overly saturated like with so many camera phones. Very impressed by that. I'm not crazy about the look of the phone
I prefer the Redmi note 13 Pro to the 13 Pro Plus because it uses a Snapdragon processor, making it compatible with Gcam (Google Camera) ports, unlike the plus version. I'm hoping to find someone who has got the 4K to work at 60fps with Gcam but I haven't found that yet, perhaps it's not possible.
For some reason, the plus version struggles a bit in side-by-side tests when processing video, compared to the 13 Pro plus, though the plus would probably be a better choice for gamers. Judging by the specificity of your particular shortlist, though, I would guess cameras are the most important thing to you, so I would probably narrow it down to the Pixel 7a and the Realme 12 Pro Plus. For me, OS and security updates matter a lot, so I would probably try to find the Pixel 8 in a sale, or else the Pixel 7a. Hope this helps, I spent so many hours watching photography-channel CZcamsrs, trying to narrow my shortlist!

I’m having trouble deciding between a55 & pixel 7. I am a iPhone user. Does the a55 have any type of filter when taking selfies? ...i have noticed most brands out there uses filters. And also when taking food image has an orange tone. I want the all natural, no filters & off colours. Will a55 or pixel be closest to iPhone? Thank you

I would like to ask something, on the promotional page for the A55 model on the Samsung website, it says that you can choose warm or natural tones for selfies. Is there such an option in the camera settings? Great video btw
Yes. You can choose different filters. On both video's and pictures. There's lots of options such as : warm,cool,light,frosty blossom and more...

As much as i loved the honor 90. This phone only gets 2 years software update. Android 15 will be the last update I'm afraid.

Very interesting. Last yest I compared the a34 with a54 and couldn't see a huge difference in camera. The performance was actually better on the a34

@nicolasfarah2092 I think the pixel 7a is a great choice. Almost as fast as the Pixel 7 Pro. Best-in-class camera.
Water-resistant, Wireless charging. Now pixel 9 will be launching so the prices should be even better.
I tested the A55, it does not give a completely natural skin tone to the front camera, unlike the A35

never really understood midrange phones. right now the 2 yr old s22 has a better chip set, better build, better camera and is the same price as this. I'd rather get that than this.
Terrible battery on s22
If A-series RAW photos weren't disabled by default and also have DEX function as well, the S-series might have to question their existence.
@@jiffonbuffo no 60 fps, no dex, weaker cameras, weaker chipset, weaker build so I would really buy the a series. much better to buy an old s series phone. the s23 should be cheaper by the end of the year.

Sending mine back, my old s10e out performs it, very disappointed with the a55.
I heard it has good battery life, but this camera... I don't know. It is bright, and it has also a lot of noise. Pixel camera is better for me, like Pixel 7 and 7a, but there battery life is weak point I think
