  • While the forecast is for an active season, that doesn't mean one will come to the Texas Gulf coast.

They were WRONG last year. Not just a little off, but WRONG.
We had a piddly 1(maybe cat 2) hurricane in Florida last year and that's it. They forecast 6-9 hurricanes.
I propose we tie their funding to accuracy. Maybe then we and they can start taking weather forecasts seriously.

They were very correct last year. They don’t forecast landfalls. They forecast total hurricane season statistics. You should be greatfull last year wasn’t bad.

@@tornadoclips2022 CU were wrong, NOAA was wrong; NWC was wrong. The extreme heat reduced gulf hurricanes to zero. There was one small one that came up through the Caribbean to Florida but that's it. When they say "more heat means more hurricanes"; they are wrong. Period.

@@arthurfoyt6727 Most of the storms stayed OTS last season.Just because a season isn't a high impact season, doesn't mean it was inactive.El Nino (like what we had last year) usually causes more troughiness on the east coast and a weaker Bermuda/Azore's high. The warm water was there but the steering made most storms miss land.Despite being a El Nino season we still managed to have the 4th most active season on record with 20 named storms. The agency doesn't predict where the storms will go but how many we'll have based on all of the factors coming together.

Let’s just go for the weather, too. Everything they can do to stir up the heat and make it absolutely impossible for Trump to come in and clean the shit up. It’s all scheduled and planned out. Let’s add one more disaster! Trump 2024!!!!! We need a miracle.

just out of curiosity, do you remember that scene from the motion picture "rocketeer"? it was about 1991 i think came out. don't know how old you are of course. there was an airport manager who, when the airshow went sideways, just kept screaming into the microphone, "it's all part of the show".
same way here. now we can't leave our houses to vote so we'll have to vote virtually.
it's all part of the show.
