      I kept saying if we didn’t see a manual Supra, this Z would be the last of the best manual cars to exist. I really think in a couple years, they’ll do away manuals and push electric sport cars. Tesla will release their roadster, which will be super expensive, but it will influence the industries to get competitive and make electrics of their own.

      @@FatalFist Well it’s to be expected. Emission regulations are gonna force car companies to stop making ICE vehicles altogether. When that happens, I suspect that these cars will shoot up in value despite the cost of owning one.

      I don’t think so, almost all cars in Europe have a manual option and almost all cars are made to option, barely any dealership has any cars on their lot as there isn’t any interest in that, just for end of the year sales. It’s cheap to put in a manual for the European manufacturers, it never costs much to even design that. I believe many are here to stay and Porsche will definitely make manual EVs

      @@soapa4279 the differences are pretty major, the fuel injectors and fuel pumps have been upgraded, I believe the heat exchanger was also upgraded. this car should be substantially better especially when you consider the weight difference

      @@wesgreen2812 can vouch for this. My turbos blew at 17k miles and had coolant issues. Luckily all I had was an aftermarket exhaust at the time and they replaced under warranty. Another thing to note is to swap out the turbos on this car you need to drop the engine which is a bitch in itself if you tried to do it yourself or pay someone to do it as its much more work. Would never buy another Nissan product. This isnt just my experience either but countless others Ive seen post about it in the FB groups over the 2 years I owned it. People will find out this 3.0 motor is not very reliable themselves tho

      Bay Area here. I go to Monterey and Santa Cruz regularly on weekends and you can see a lot of guys with Supercars going there in the morning. Quite a scene sometimes, especially when they get pull over by CHP. :)

    They did a great job on this design and performance set up on the new Nissan Z. Honestly I love this car, it is pure JDM performance at its finest even with the new technology integrated into it.

    As soon as I watched the smoking tires video I cam here. Your driving style is more of what I personally would want to do with the car in my area, over driving high speeds on big open roads. Great video and I really like how your videos cover more of the thought process if finding a new daily more than adding a 2nd or 3rd car

    Really great style cues to the original Datsun Z's as well are previous Nissans. Seems like a very fun car!
    There's a pretty audible sound from the turbos too, which is great! I can imagine the aftermarket for this car should be pretty wild.

      You’ll be able too, it’s just a matter of someone figuring it out. Like with the 10th gen civic it’s a sequence with the traction button and the brake pedal. No big deal.

    What an absolute beaut. Another knockout design for the 2020s. It really gets my hopes up as to what projects are coming for the rest of the decade, even with the potential for it to be another letdown like the 2010s.

    Awesome review!! Can’t believe I’m saying this about a Nissan, but I really like this thing. Shows that Nissan can do great things when given the opportunity. I can honestly say I’d much rather have this over the Supra, for the value factor (significantly cheaper than a similarly powered Supra), the suspension design, and the looks. The blue is fantastic on this car. Also, the fact that it stil has a mechanical handbrake is a huge plus.

      @@enjoiandrew4 BMW's inline six performance engines have some of the best reliability in the game, takes power mods really well, and sound incredible. People don't realize Toyota worked w/BMW for this reason above all else? Nobody else has an engine that resembles what the MK4 2JZ had. JDM reliability 2000 and onward hasn't been spectacular in the performance world overall
      Everything from the S54 and similar to the B58/S58 have incredible reputation for a reason. Considering the performance trim on the new Z only runs ~3k cheaper than the 3.0 Supra, the manual variant of it coming for 2023 is going to make a lot of people "suddenly" say the GR Supra is a top tier car.

    I'm a huge Nissan fan. Have only owned Nissan vehicles since 1992. I can count on one hand the number of times they have let me down (knock on wood). Currently have a 2015 Xterra Pro-4X with 90,000 miles. Only two small warranty issues in seven years. Also own a 2017 370Z 6MT which has been tastefully modded and is now at 48,000 miles. Drive the hell out of it and it has been super reliable so far. Can't believe Nissan came through and made the car I always wanted- will be getting this new Z in a couple years!

      compared to some of newer cars it fits in perfectly I think, the Supra is only 100lbs lighter, the 2022 Audi S3 also weighs 3500lbs and the 2022 BMW M240i is 3800lbs.

    this car is honestly amazing, not only does it capture alot of the older z's but in this day in age of boring ass looking cars, this is so far my #1 looking car out the 2020's

      psi isnt really the metric you wanna use, how much volume of air that is being forced upon that psi is what really matters, but i also totally understand what your saying and 15 psi is quite lovely indeed

    I like the movement of the shift lever when taking off the gas and starting, it means that the connection between the driver and the drivetrain is quite direct. :D

    I wonder if an aftermarket blowoff valve or wastegate would be good here. Some fluttering and phsst sounds when letting off throtle would improve it 10x

      Just got with intakes for that. This is a recirculating system so venting to air isn’t something you want to be doing to the engine. Pretty much guaranteed to make it run rich and wasting fuel.

      @@esantiago8989 Nothing other than noise. Venting the air out drops boost pressure below the ECU’s target, so BOVs on a recirculating system just creates more turbo lag. They’re fine if the engine is designed to do this, but basically no modern turbo engines are.

      @@marcusmcneal7453 I appreciate. I have a FBO N but don't have a bov and always worried if I should get one. I get plenty of turbo noise with my intake and hybrid turbo. It's a recirc system and my intake uses the stock recirc.

    The Nissan Z and Subaru WRX used to be comparable in terms of performance. That’s not the case anymore. Subaru really dropped the ball with the 2023 WRX. It needs 290 horsepower at least.

    Everyone seems to be saying the Supra has a better interior than the Z. Am I missing something here? The Z seems to have the same if not much better interior, look at all of the nice gadgets they’ve added to the Z. The Supra has a tiny infotainment, smaller dash with less information, etc.
    As a big MK5 fan, I still think the Z’s interior is better.

      The Z has room for a 6'3" driver, and is not as claustrophobic as a Supra.

    Nice car, as a Z enthusiast i see this being a good all around sports car for most. But I’ll stick with my 370z , getting a used 370 and maybe going for a single turbo or SC if ur looking for more power. Its probably a cheaper and better option for some. Plus the curb weight of 3600 ish is kinda meh for a sports car like this

    3500 lbs seems pretty good stock. that engine is a beast! the only thing i would mod if i bought it would be the rear end. love the limited slip, but not necessarily the gearing.

    I love this car, although it seems underwhelming compared to what I'd hoped for... also the interior seems a little too low end or old for a $50k car... and the sounds when closing doors sound a little cheap too.... still LOVE how this pays homage to the older cars, I also love how the center air vents have a similar look to the cutouts on the front grille....

      @@yamabushi_nate7825 yeah, at $60k you’re getting into c7 corvettes, ZL1s, used m3 etc. these new car prices are ridiculous. This Z is nice but I’m seeing a $35-40k car here.

    Been back and forth between this and the supra for me - think after seeing this the supra is my clear choice. Supra has a more upscale look inside and out I feel, the supra sounds better, supra has better fuel economy, I don't mind the lack of manual and I don't really like the black top on the Z. I will say the Z has better color options and looks fantastic from the rear, and it looks like a great car all things considered.

      The Supra has a way newer chassis and drivetrain, way nicer interior, better mileage, and will hold its value better. I really love that Nissan made this new Z, and I think it's great aesthetically but relative to the Supra in that $50k range it's a tough sell IMO. But at least it was done in-house vs being farmed out...

      Just wait for the manual Supra to come and test drive both. After seeing the 400z, I have no regrets lol. The only downside is that you see mkv's everywhere. I would love to test drive the 400z though!

    This car looks amazing. Hopefully one day I can see this in my driveway. Always been a 370z fan just didn’t think it had enough power. I still think they should’ve called it the 300zx or the 400zx tho. Maybe it’s just the nostalgia factor but I think it sounds better.

    Looks surprisingly good! But for the same price you can get a camaro 2ss 1le... which is in a different league performance wise... assuming you like the looks! This was the choice I made

      Definitely agree hell found a few 2022 1SS 1LE for 44-45K 100 pounds heavier but more power and better interior also sounds ways better no lift shifting auto rev matching ….the list goes on…..I’ll be getting a 1SS 1LE this year for sure

    Great looking car no doubt. I just wish they had a mid trim which only included lsd and bigger brakes. At $45-46k that would of been such a bargain. But business is business lol

      Most cars that come out today are ugly af today lmao. The Nissan Z grew on me a bit but I'm still kind of iffy on the front end. At least we know it's all functional. Otherwise the only car that I think looks good is the GR86. Everything else is just ugly. WRX ugly, Civic Type R ugly, Integra looks like a grandpa car, every single BMW for like the last 5 years has been god awful ugly.

      Most modern cars with manuals rev hang for emissions reasons.
