@@TheMakeupChair I tried your night owl tip last night with some rust\copper shadows. It was so fun to put them on and not worry about redoing my makeup if I didn't like them. They were beautiful (Morphe 2 palette in Malibu) but didn't flatter my salt and pepper hair. Onward to dramatic blues and purples instead!

A million rganks for this video. It's good to get back to the basics especially when getting frustrated with the end product (before you have to leave for work!!). One of the issues I run across frequently is deciding what color shadows will go with the others in the palette, and which I should avoid trying to use together becuz they get muddy. This happens with small as well as larger palettes. Thanks!!

Oh my God, that’s why my blending looks overblended? Yes, after applying the eyeshadow primer, the finish is kind of tacky and it is difficult to blend. But when I use foundation/concealer + powder, the eyeshadow doesn’t last long 😩
What should I do about my super-wrinkly eyelids? The skin on my lids is so wrinkly, it resembles the eyelids of a 70-80 years old person, I don’t exaggerate at all 😭
Sinead, do you have in plan to do a video about face powders? As in what’s a setting powder, what does a fixing powder do and so on…

    • @TheMakeupChair
      @TheMakeupChair  Před rokem +1

Oh I know, the struggle is real! ❤ For super wrinkly eyelid I get them from time to time, do you have the wrinkles before you apply makeup or do the product make it worse at all? ❤
Some products can drag the eyes, it can cause them to tighten up and look more wrinkled.
      - So apply a very thin layer of primer, Make sure the primer isn't too drying or heavy.
      - Another thing to try are cream to powder eyeshadows, they aren't as drying as powder eyeshadows however they can be heavy so bare that in mind.
      - One thing I like to do is use a setting spray after I have apply the shadows, I find this adds some hydration back, so I close my eyes and lightly spray the face, not too close to the eyes but make sure it is covered, I keep my eyes closed till it is dry.
Let me know if that helps ❤❤
I do have a video on that but I think I need to do an updated one, I might start doing Monday Makeup Lesson but with Face makeup too ❤❤

I typically only set from the crease up to the brow bone. This is because I almost always apply a shimmer all over my eyelid. If the base is tacky, the shimmer won’t have so much (or any) fall out. This is a win/win for the typical eyeshadow look that I’m trying to achieve. (Unless I’m going to cut the crease. These days, I focus on applying my darkest matte shades on the outer corner and most of my matte shades are only in the crease and higher. I simply avoid the eyelid until I’m ready to apply the shimmer shades. I actually enjoy the blended look if I happen to bring a matte shade a little lower than I anticipated. In this case, I will apply a glitter glue in the space where I want the shimmer. I’m always stunned by how it turns out. 😉
I’m rarely cutting the crease because of the glitter glue! 🤗❤️
I’m so proud of you for getting through such a difficult week. 👏 Everyone is getting applause from me❣️❤️👏

@@TheMakeupChair - The pleasure is all mine❣️ I am simply ecstatic whenever I see the notification for a new video! 🤗
I love the NYX glitter glue! However, it’s been impossible to find any for a year? I heard a rumor that it’s been discontinued! 😭 A let of friends tell me that the Born This Way glitter glue is amazing. I believe the brand that makes it is Too Faced? I know that it’s at least $20. 😖 So, I have been using a slightly different product by NYX called the Multitasker Mixing Medium? It’s similar to the Duraline by Inglot? However, it dries insanely fast! I literally have to apply the shimmer shades with my finger. By the time I dip into the shimmer shade with a brush, the glue has set! However, this product doesn’t accentuate any fine lines in my eyelid. I highly recommend this for anyone with mature eyelids who still enjoy the look of glitter ✨ I love it even more than the glitter glue❣️❤️
Much love and blessings from the US❣️💖

Hi there my friend sounds like you have tried everything!! I’m so sorry you having such an issue, have you tried taking a clear water proof mascara and using this as your final coat, that should seal in the mascara. Take the clear mascara and roll it under your lash line…hard to explain but place it under the lashes of the lower lash line and roll from underneath, then on top and then on top lashes…it should create a layer that seals the pigment and if it does smudge it will be clear or at least faint, would that be something you would consider? Also do you have watery eye? Or wear contact? Or are you just like me and your cheeks rub your eyes when you smile hehe ☺️

I love shimmer shades in the middle of my lid or just in the inner corners. What's the best way to prevent fallout with glitter and shiny flakes all over my cheeks? I already do eye makeup before foundation because of that. And I'll still find sparkly flakes, which often clog my pores, leading to pimples 💔

I have a question I've asked several people but have never been answered. I have short, stubby, sparse, straight eyelashes. First, what kind of mascara can you recommend to make them look better? Everyone talks about lash princess & a few others, but they all have nice lashes to begin with. Also, are there any serums or treatments for growing them longer, fuller, etc that are affordable that actually work? My husband passed away & I'm going through some medical issues keeping from working much so I'm struggling to make ends meet (my power & water are even off) so I can't really afford the well known expensive things out there but I want to find something affordable that works. I'm pretty depressed so I've tried to start buying a little makeup here & there to get back to the old me & start feeling better but no matter what my eyeshadow look is, my almost non-existent lashes look terrible.

Hi Hayley I'm sorry you are having such a hard time of it, I'm so sorry for your loss, sending you so much love during this difficult time. I completely understand that you don't feel like yourself, not feeling like ourselves is one of the hardest feelings to walk around with, I will be keeping you in my thoughts, you will get through this. One thing a friend of mine said to me when I was going through a very difficult few years when I too wanted to feel like my old me she said 'the old you is in there, you are the old you, what you are feeling is the new you trying to push through' at the time it meant nothing, I didn't want to be a 'new me' as I was struggling with my chronic illness, I wanted to be the old me, it was comfortable but over time I did push through and I found myself again, trust the process and trust yourself.
On the note of what Elisa suggested, I have done intermittent fasting during my difficult time, though it can be helpful for so many people and I do agree with Elisa I just want to say that during grief our bodies go through changes, for instance my blood pressure and cholesterol dropped to a dangerous low level and the intermittent fasting only worsen it, I was basically put on a high salt diet to reverse it, so please be extra careful during this time, you might want to wait a little bit and ask your doctor. The other main point I want to make is that fasting can have a huge effect on our emotions so please be very careful. Please. I'll be worried about you my friend so be kind to yourself.
Okay now the makeup - let me look up a few things and I will be back to you x

So I think firstly lets see if we can deal with the reason your lashes are short, stubby, sparse, straight...
Let start with why they could be short - the tips of the lashes could just be light so the length is there but it's blonde (could be bleached from the sun similar to how the sun lightens hair) that's easy to treat, wear sunglasses and we will find you a really dark mascara to deepen them, also tinting can really help. Once every 6 weeks you can get a lash tint or use a lash tinting treatment at home (that's what I do)
Why they could be stubby - This could be caused by rubbing the eyes, if you are an eye rubber (like me) you could be almost exfoliating the lashes, scrubbing them while they are wet can cause breakage similar to split ends. Taking extra care when removing your makeup and cleansing can help. Take a cotton pad, use makeup remover and hold it over a closed eye for a few seconds, they wipe down to remove mascara.
The more gentle you are the better. I would avoid water proof mascara for awhile till your lashes find their shape again.
Why they could be spares - They could be due to stress and with all you are going through no wonder it is showing in this way, however I do think they will come back with some care, being extra careful with your eyes, cleansing carefully and avoid rubbing the eyes and you should see them come back. As far as lash treatments go, there are some out there that work but not for everyone, it varies, I would start with some extra TLC, not just for your lashes but for your body. The ingredients vary and we can't be sure which one will work for you just yet.
Why they could be straight - Similar to how a person with naturally curling hair can lose their curl if they don't take extra care of their hair or over process it the same can happen with your lashes. One thing I would recommend is to create a muscle memory but for your lashes (sounds crazy I know but bare with me) I used to have very curly hair, over time my hair got straighter and straighter and wouldn't hold a curl - until I stop ever straightening it and only ever curl it or leave it be, now it holds a curl so curling your lashes every morning and night will help it start to hold a curl for longer. Make sure your lash curler is clean and dry, and make sure your skin and lashes aren't wet (say from washing your face at night) as it won't work. Over time they will lift and curl for you.
