A nice tip I got from a Dior makeup artist is to not tap the brush, but to gently touch it to the back of your hand. This ensures you get no fallout, while retaining more pigmentation on the first go. Hope this helps anyone that might find tapping wasteful or that it reduces pigmentation by a lot if done vigorously. Obviously, different formulas will have different pigmentation and fallout, but this tip has helped me a lot - especially when working with slanted brushes to do liner work with shadow.

Try just one color! You can lay a piece of folded tp from the corner of your eye to the end of you brow. Pick a shade that matches your bronzer or contour shade and start with a fluffy brush all over the lid. Then use the exact same shade with progressively smaller/denser brushes as you work towards the outer edge where the tp is. Once you take the tp away you can use the fluffy brush again to blow out the edge a little if you don't want it so sharp. Can't get muddy with one color. 😉💗

Finally a tutorial that actually taught me something! I love that you explain stuff as simply as possible. Like how you explained where the crease is in the hollows of the eye where the skin wraps around the eyeball, lol. I seriously learned so much from this one and the advanced color eyeshadow tutorial. Thanks a bunch 🤗

This was so great to see exactly how you build the color in the crease. I have slightly hooded eyes so this detail about the color in the eye socket was great! I would love to see color as I do have a lot of pallets with colors in them but I am never exactly sure how and where the color should go. Thanks 😊

I struggle with winged liner too but that's a whole nother story. I love listening to you explain make up the way u do. You really have such a gift. I have been a fan for a long time. Alexandra, this was excellent! Please do as many tutorials as these as you can, for everything! For different eyeshadow techniques, including smokey eyes (black, blue, brown, green, burgundy) which is intimidating and other types that professional makeup artists do and we never learn how to do... You're a terrific teacher, I really am learning a lot from you! Thank you so much!!!

You've just taught a 51 Yr old how to make the best version of myself by educating me on tips for hooded eyes, how to make cheekbones pop which were my two main issues. You've given me back my confidence and restored my love of makeup. You're so beautiful, sweet, funny and extremely talented. Thankyou ❤️

Hey Alex! I’m a long time viewer, and I love how you balance the bright or bold colors in your eye tutorials! I’ve been wearing makeup for 30 years now, and I’ve been having fun with it for 15. I used those ridiculous sponge applicators that came in my palettes for the 1st 15 and used my fingers since 2009. I’ve been using brushes and creams a LOT since watching your videos, and while I’d say my eyeshadow is pretty on point now, I’m struggling a little with brushes for the REST of my face! Would you be willing to do a tutorial or just correct brushes for everything? You have all the info out there already, but it would be insanely helpful if you could maybe put it all in one video???

Thank you so much for these in depth tutorials! Even if you're experienced with makeup, you still catch something new from watching.
Anyone who says intricate makeup application isn't art likely doesn't understand makeup or art. Imagine if someone asked you to take a very simple drawing of a face and add shading to it so it had natural shadows and light instead of just being flat. That's kind of what you're doing on your own face when you apply makeup, except you're doing it on a 3D surface and just enhancing the shadows and light that are already there. But it's difficult, time-consuming, and takes practice to get right, just like creating realistic, seamless shading on a sketch takes practice. Don't be too hard on yourselves, CZcamsrs have tons of practice, make it look very easy, and usually edit their videos so it seems like the process isn't taking nearly as long as it actually is. This is probably why most days I just stick to one color and blend it out 🤣
