SO let me know if you want a colorful version but ALSO....what if we did an all shimmer version đ
Yess! Most definitely đ
YESS
Of course to both! I need both tutorials in my life đ
PLEASE do the shimmer! I'm not exactly a beginner but I'd love to see a pro's take on all shimmer looks. I'd love to see a resurgence on the 2000s all shimmer looks.
All shimmer sounds đŹđŹ but fun at the same time. Maybe you could do it?
Iâm not a make up beginner but Iâm always jealous of people with such amazing eyelid space. My deeply hooded eyes are just gonna take a seat đ
Same here. I mean I'm a beginner but i have hooded eyes too. And the eyeliner ugh đ
@@GoldenNina15 have you tried doing the straight method eyeliner instead of doing the typical pointing uppish pointing wing? It keeps your hood from eating up your wing or having to do the going across the hood to combat the eating, I think they call it the step method. That is just to much for me to handleđ
@@GoldenNina15 Alexandra Anele has hooded eyes too. In this video she's massively doing the eyeshadow above the hood.
She does have a lot of hood space, but they're still hooded. Yet this toturial works fine for hooded eyes
I have a slightly hooded eye and I find the puppy eyeliner works REALLY great for my eye shape. It gives me that youthful look I want (I'm 25 so I'm young, but I like the innocence of the puppy look) and avoids the hood completely. I'm so unhappy that I lost my eyeliner because I only used it a few times and it took me so long to figure this out!
Agree
This is extremely helpful!! Seeing someone applying makeup in real time without skipping or fast-forwarding over the actual process, and explaining the thought process is perfect!
Exactly!
gradation
Agreed!!
I absolutely love how she zooms in so much and actually lets us see her skin and texture. If every CZcamsr did this things would be so much easier and peoples expectations wouldnât be so high to think theyâll looked filtered in real life since a CZcamsr they saw is using a camera filter.
The quickest 18 mins of my life. I wished this was an hour long. So informative and pleasant, youâre also so gorgeous!!!
đ Thank you so much love! đđŒâ€ïž
I swear! I checked out the time stamp cause I was like HELL YES itâs in depth and was sad it was only 18 minutes. I savored every minute. I could watch her all day long lol.
@@AlexandraAnele I agree! This is the first video I found of yours and I can't wait to watch more.
đŻ 18 min of actual information not the rambling most youtubers do ! Loved it
Well, this tutorial is just what I need. I got an eyeshadow palette as a gift but I have no idea how to use it. Thank for the tuts! â€ïžđ„°
Hope it helps love! đđŒâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Be patient with yourself, practice and remember what you like now may not be how you do your makeup later on.
@@AlexandraAneleyour eyes are real pretty! What color are they?
First time here.. I totally understand why you have over 1M subscribers. Holy crap, woman..Youâre a teacher! Thank you for this !
đ Thank you love! đ
New here, as well. Most of the âtutorialâ videos Iâve watched hardly did anything for me except throw my hands up and left me with ânow whatâ? But this video makes so much sense; i understand the why and where of color placement.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge đ
I am a total beginner! This is very helpful. At the age of 33 I've never worn makeup and at this point I'm almost afraid to try because so many tutorials leave 'obvious' stuff out. I neeeeed a ridiculously in-depth tutorial like this!
I just started experimenting with makeup and my dad said, "wow at the age of 30 you finally discovered makeup" lol. Don't be afraid to try! You always have to be a beginner to become an expert!
HA I have you beat. I'm 44 and have only worn eyeliner my whole adult life. I'm here learning about eyeshadow for the first time. đ
I'm 35 and I'm a make up virgin too. Only did eye liner
These back to basics tutorials will always be helpful because there will always be beginners and techniques that may need to be updated
Yes, but also us not so beginners can always find SOMETHING we missed before.

My tip for those struggling to learn their eye shape and where to place shadows - have a detail hand-held mirror for blending, but also stand in front of a big mirror to see the effect it gives on your whole face.
Yessss i do this too
Love this tip, it really makes a huge difference! Ty for sharing!
I've went most of my life without wearing make-up. I'm now 36 and I'm getting to a point where I don't feel as beautiful without makeup anymore. This video was incredibly helpful for me. You did a really good job at including small details, which are so important for a beginner like me. Also thankyou for explaining some of the terms such as blending and shading. I bought an eyebrush set the other day, and I had no clue how or when to use certain brushes. I think my favorite part was when you said to use a smaller brush as you transition.
I followed this to the LETTER and my eyeshadow looked beautiful! The first time in 35yrs of applying make up that my eyebrow hasnât looked all muddy or like a black eye!! Thank you a thank you thank you!!! Now I need to practice so that I can do it without second by second support!đ€Ł xxx
Iâm not a beginner, but I sure do love an in depth blending video! Iâm sure other confident folks out there enjoy these as well! Please do more! I love watching you build eye looks and explain why you are doing what you are doing. Would love to see a video of your favorite cream shadows and you utilizing them. Would also love to see you use some Rituele de Fille products. Iâve just gotten my first order from them and they are so lovely. I think you would really enjoy their products! Especially the eye soots and gelees. The thorn oil and the new 3 drop foundation. The color nectars are fantastic also. Anywho / thanks for another in depth video!!
Omgosh Iâve always wanted to buy that brand đ
@@melt2947 TRY IT! Itâs so nice! Itâs not for full coverage fans. Itâs not for matte fans. Itâs for people who want really nice makeup, that donât mind learning how to work with their products. They have a sample pack for $15 and you can try 5 different things - you choose. The samples will last you, even though they look tiny. There is a $15 sample size of the thorn oil - mine came broken but they responded by email the next business day and immediately sent me a replacement, I am awaiting it. Iâve heard itâs a holy grail for many. The packaging is so nice. The brand is super open minded and incredible to interact with on IG. I canât say enough good things - Iâm about to place another order for some more stuff to play with. I highly suggest you check them out. It shows they carry RdF at an ulta the next town over, so Iâm gonna try to go soon and check it all out in person.
@@marywiththelonghair1330 Thanks Mary, I love high quality makeup and this brand looks stunning. May I ask, through whom exactly did you get the $15 sample pack? Iâm in Australia and Ulta doesnât deliver here.
Discovered by accident that the Wayne Goss cream foundation once powdered makes a bullet proof eye shadow primer. I love your videos, Alex, because you zoom in and use realistic lighting. I hate the tiktok style "tutorials" that are super short and so blown out with filters literally everything looks amazing. Your base makeup in this video is just gorgeous.
Sheâs the best. I absolutely adore this woman!
She would look gorgeous with a paper bag over her head
Iâm wanting to try that when my shade comes back in stock - what did you think of it? Iâm almost 39 so I think it would be good for my maturing skin. Longevity? Did you get the powder and the puff also? Thanks in advance! đđ

Okay this is the best tutorial I've seen thus far. The darker the shade, the smaller the brush!!! Yes!! That's it and I can remember this!
Thank you so much for really breaking it down for us. I'm not a beginner, I'm 39, but I love continuing my education bc I always learn something new no matter what!

Yes yes yes to the colorful version. I struggle with color the most đ€Šđ»ââïž This was so extremely helpful, thank you đ
A nice tip I got from a Dior makeup artist is to not tap the brush, but to gently touch it to the back of your hand. This ensures you get no fallout, while retaining more pigmentation on the first go. Hope this helps anyone that might find tapping wasteful or that it reduces pigmentation by a lot if done vigorously. Obviously, different formulas will have different pigmentation and fallout, but this tip has helped me a lot - especially when working with slanted brushes to do liner work with shadow.
Wasteful is buying more makeup than one can use before it expires.
Thanks for the tip!
.
Thank you for tip!

This is the very first time in my life that I witnessed an amazing tutorial with explicit details and direction. Thank you so much for this beautiful demonstration. You are amazing, I bought the palette, now just praying I can do it half as good as you did.
This is hands down the best makeup tutorial for beginners I have ever seen! I love how well you describe why you are doing the things youâre doing and reminding us throughout important steps that you repeat. Thank you! This is awesome!
I was always too scared to play with eye shadow since I had no technique or foundation (pun intended)
And it felt like most tutorials required people to have some technique down alreadyâŠ
so thanks for posting something like this for complete âšnoobsâš like me

Iâve been wearing makeup for over 25 years, but eye looks are the one thing I donât venture out with very much. I always admire people who do creative and varied looks, but I never invest the time to do those. Even so, this video was super helpful, even being âbasicâ. The brush sounds, the voice, the advice. Nothing and no one will ever replace Bob Ross but this comes close to it. â€ïž
Finding the right brushes for your eyespace is so key. I remember when I bought a set online and the only blending brush was enormous. Ty for the tutorial X so thorough and beautiful.
The camera quality and lighting on this video is insanely good!
These detailed how-tos are always helpful, especially with your camera! I could actually see without my glasses, and I can't even see my glasses without my glasses!
Same!
Hahaha same!
đđso true! This was fantastic!
Jeanette Price: I am using a magnifying glass. Hahaha!!!
You are the absolute best makeup educator on CZcams Alexandra. I found you accidently and follow you all the time. You've just taught a 51 Yr old how to make the best version of myself by educating me on tips for hooded eyes, how to make cheekbones pop which were my two main issues. You've given me back my confidence and restored my love of makeup. You're so beautiful, sweet, funny and extremely talented. Thankyou â€ïž
It's really nice that someone finally thought of that. I remember that when I've started learning how to put on makeup (it was circa 2019) there was a ton of very complex looks but it was hard to find videos on basics so there was always this: "this is such a simple look just put thoes rainbow eyeshadows and blend them" yet noone bothered to show how to do it. I'm happy that even though you are so good at makeup you still think about the beginners. â€ïž
How Alex makes her videos:
1/2 cup of what everybody needs
1/2 cup of humble expertise
Gently fold in 1 cup of total chill
Sprinkle self-deprecating humor to taste
EnjoyđŠ
Give me an ALL SHIMMER moment!! So many people feel that that's not acceptable!!! Everything is acceptable in makeup!!! You are so helpful! Blessings to you, Alex!! âïžđđ
Sis forget makeup, drop your skin care routine. Your skin is top tier.
We need more of these ridiculous â€ïžâ€ïžin depth eyeshadow tutorial. These are the difficult ones.this is by far the best in depth eyeshadow tutorial.i recommend this to everyone
Love this! I always love the outer V âwingâ you do on your looks with eyeshadow because I could never do it without it getting muddy đ„č
Try just one color! You can lay a piece of folded tp from the corner of your eye to the end of you brow. Pick a shade that matches your bronzer or contour shade and start with a fluffy brush all over the lid. Then use the exact same shade with progressively smaller/denser brushes as you work towards the outer edge where the tp is. Once you take the tp away you can use the fluffy brush again to blow out the edge a little if you don't want it so sharp. Can't get muddy with one color. đđ
I'm having the same issue
@@krisdiane (Iâve been known to use my ATM card to get that look when thereâs a tp shortage!)
The Fenty eye primer is BOMB, non-sticky and perfect amount of coverage, my eyes are so oily they crease with other primers, but not that one! Fab tutorial as ever xxx
I also love the Fenty eye primer as well! I have super oily eyelids and itâs the only one Iâve found that keeps my eyeshadow from creasing.
However, Iâve found it INCREDIBLY sticky which is why I wonât use it sometimes. Maybe itâs my eye shape, but itâs so uncomfortable on my hooded eyes when it starts to dry that I rush through my eye makeup to make it not so sticky
Iâm 80 and would love you to show us old ladies how to look fabulous- like you!
I just stumbled upon this video as Iâve rocked a bare face for the longest time and am now just getting into makeup. I just about gave up as I was struggling a LOT with the techniques that appear so effortless in videos. I REALLY appreciate the level of detail you put into this. Your personality is refreshing and reassuring, and you touch upon ways to overcome all the key struggles I was dealing with. Thank you for your content!
Your eyeshadow videos have truly helped me BC I have deep set eyes But NOT REALLY HOODED! and there arenât enough eyeshadow videos about it! Watching how you do your eyeshadow HAS TOTALLY HELPED ME!!
I just love how real you look in videos if that makes sense? I can see your skin, I can see you're wearing makeup. It looks beautiful and it's nice to see because sometimes I start to feel like I'm doing something wrong, that I don't look like I'm plastic once my makeup is on. Also, I would love a video on blending colors! I'm fairly confident with blending, mostly when dealing with neutrals, but I feel a bit intimidated with colors.
Cause you can see her face texture and pores, which doesnât mean she has a bad skin (the opposite of that), but it means she doesnât use filters. Only good lights đ€Ł
I love the fact you have texture to your skin, no filter and just amazing tutorials, applause đ
Probably the best blending video I've watched!! Thank you..btw..you are a natural beauty & u showed how the makeup just enhanced that.

ok u literally post specific tutorials exactly when i need them, ur a blessing. i don't really watch makeup youtubers but ur the only exception. i've learnt so so much from u, especially how to work accordingly to my features. thank u sm alex
Alexandra, this was excellent! Please do as many tutorials as these as you can, for everything! For different eyeshadow techniques, including smokey eyes (black, blue, brown, green, burgundy) which is intimidating and other types that professional makeup artists do and we never learn how to do... You're a terrific teacher, I really am learning a lot from you! Thank you so much!!!
Love how you created this WITHOUT eye liner đđ
Iâm jealous of your skin clarity and texture. It looks so soft! Youâre beautiful. â€â€â€
I feel like so many channels just review products now, Iâm glad someone is her to teach in depth techniques
Such a great tutorial! Also another good tip that wasn't mentioned... is to keep both eyes open when doing eyeshadow. Alex naturally does this, but it was something I had to train myself to do especially when trying to work on hooded lids and get the shape I wanted without it making my eyes look more downturned. đ
I loveddd this tutorial ,I usually donât leave a comment but nobody does such an in-depth tutorial and it was zoomed in to see it clearly ! Loved it ! The best I have come across. Can you do more of tutorials like this in real time. And also in-depth of brushes needed . Palette for different skin tone and eye colors. It would be super helpful for beginners
I absolutely love that you use affordable products!! My jaw dropped when you said LA Girl!!!
I finally saw the blending thing I gave up on eyeshadow 50 years ago it always went too far to my ear I just did not know where to stop. Your step by step method has clarified the whole thing! Thanks I have signed up and I look forward to watching all of your videos. PS your skin is gorgeous! Even your pores look amazing.
I would love a follow-up involving color. Really, I'm going to watch anything you choose to teach us.
I love watching your tutorials! You are so beautiful and explain everything we need to know. I like how you zoom in and out, speak slowly and are easy to understand. All of this helps me to remember the awesome lessons you are teaching us. Also, thank you for using affordable products. â€đ
I literally almost never âlike and subscribeâ but you just seem so calm and patient and knowledgeable that youâre just gonna be it for me now for all things makeup. The fact that you didnât even ask really cemented that chill factor â€
This is really useful! Lot's of "easy eyeshadow look" videos out there, but no one takes the time to really explain the absolute basics of what you're doing and why
