I just got a really sweet sombrero thats kinda dark colored.i got it from one of the del lobos gang leader guys,i think at that hideout where they keep respawning after the epilogue..im not spot on but its in the area.haha!..sorry,it was the Bolero hat.
Go to some Del Lobo hideouts at Thieve’s Landing, Fort Mercer, and Twin Rocks if you got the Special Edition, some of the members are sure to have a Bolero Hat, which is a sombrero.

The Special Edition unlocks a Rhodes bank robbery side-quest, a Del Lobo gang hideout, the Nuevo Paraiso outfit for free, I believe, and a Reverse Dapple Back Throuroughbred.

Butch Coolidge yeah just not completely authentic to history, not that it’s important or the main focus of the game. My favourite hats were the plantation gambler from Guarma and the Hardee confederate hats.

HolyCrusader I was able to wear it during the military ambush mission with the Wapiti Indians. Unfortunately I can not save it. It got shot by one of the soldiers and I immediately ran to get it. I wore that damn thing until I eventually lost it. Funny thing is, Dutch will not have a hat and he could not get it from you.

unlike other clothing videos currently on youtube, this one is extremely detailed, because it shows every single hat (except some DLC content) and show them seperately, so you can see if it's stolen, found on certain location, crafted or owned (from beggining of the game or bought at general store).. it also shows which one are warm items (even though it's pretty obvious).. I would love if you can do the same kind of video for other clothes, especially coats, vests, chaps and boots.

@@theirrelevantelephant2486 actually, I was wrong. there's Good Big Valley hat, which is a part of Legend of the East outfit. it's not a DLC outfit, just hard to obtain. there are also 3 more hats which can be bought. they are not in this video, but they are listed in description

Stalker Hat is easily the best in the game (The closest thing to Clint's in "Two Mules for Sister Sara"). There's only about 4-5 good looking hats, the rest are junk. The Cutter's hat is a good looking cowboy hat. For the Urbanites, it's called a Cutter's Hat because cowboys separated certain cattle out of the herd periodically (on horseback) and the term is called "Cutting". Notice the sweat all around the band of the hat, it's a hard working cowboy's hat.
The Cattleman's Hat and the Rodeo Hat are also very good.

HELPFUL TIP: ALWAYS keep the "miners hat" equipped to your horse (separate from outfits)!
If you're going into a cave or dark area- put the hat on first, AND bring your lantern also- things are SO MUCH BRIGHTER and easier to see than using either one alone.. i don't know why i didn't think to do this until playing yesterday- but seriously makes a huge difference.
The "miners hat" is also great because you can still have lighting, even when holding/aiming/using a 2 handed weapon! (pretty sure the lantern gets put out/put away if you try using a 2 handed weapon)...
The cutter hat is one of the best in the game. A classic, basic cowboy hat. Clothing options weren't a strong suit of RDR2. The number of clothes worth wearing was brought down massively by the dreadful colour options.
The Beaver Drifter, Elk Flop, Arthur's, John's, and Legendary Alligator hats are my personal favorites.
Love the Derby High and Western Homburg hats. They remind me of hats worn in Young Guns. It would have been cool if they had provided a milliner store in St Denis where you could have customised hats made for a price, mixing and matching elements from your favourite regular hats (picking colour, rim, height, band, etc).

I happened upon the Civil War riders people robbing a train and found an awesome hat in their cart that was super detailed and had like all sorts of awesome stuff on it and it was not just blatantly Confederate but also had medals and everything on it and it wouldn't let me keep it it was better than the Civil War hat and better than the military mountie

He missed one stolen hat. The “Mountaineer Hat” it is available at the small bar in Saint Denis, the bar with rat infestation. The best time to go there is between 6AM and 8AM when most of them are drunk. Go there, save the game and keep reloading until you see him outside throwing up then he will go back inside the bar or he will be sitting inside. I have probably got the throwing up in the morning 3 times already on my 2nd play through. I have to do a 3rd one because I missed the one from Appleseed timber hat.
There's another called the Drifter Hat or Drifter's Hat. I got it from Uncle in the Epilogue, as a reward for an errand mission, maybe it can happen earlier, I don't know. He also gives you a vest, a coat, and some boots too. The hat is very similar to the crafted drifter hat, but it has a different texture.

I found one hat during The Kings Son mission where I killed one of the soldiers and I saw that their hat was glowing so I picked it up and Charles said, "Found yourself a new hat Arthur?".
The Worn Gambler's Hat is my favourite.
The Stalker Hat w/ red stripe, that you steal off Bounty Hunter doesn't go in "stolen hat" list or save, it shows up as "no hat". I saved it on an outfit & when I reloaded the game it was gone. It matches the red vest off the grizzly outfit perfectly

Never even knew the exotic hat existed after 3 play throughs. Started grinding the exotics missions because of this vid to get the hat. Definitely one of my fav hats in the game along with the stalker hat, bolero hat and big valley hat

For the purchased hats you showed- hopefully you bought all the outfits in the game, because (at least some) will give you exclusive colors for hats. Ones that aren't listed to buy separately, and can't be gotten any other way than the outfit.
Didn't notice if you had any of them or not- would be nice to know which colors are from outfits, since i don't think the wardrobe indicates that..

@Vicente Ramirez Rhodes train station, if nobody spawns with it, (usually in front of the station) run off and come back a few times and hogtie whoever is wearing it, I found it right next to the jipijapa Panama hat.

As far as I can tell (unless all of Cornwall’s men disappear after some point) the Newsboy Cap isn’t missable, I found the guy on the wagon with the oil barrel outside of Valentine and I bet you’ll also be able to find him at Cornwall Kerosene and Tar. I also got it on my last save from the mission where your hiding at the farm.

Why is there no purchasable white hat like you see in classic westerns? And no, the Exotics hat doesn’t cut it. It’s a pain in the ass to obtain, and it’s covered in feathers and has a fucking giant blue strip around it

IMHO, the hat you steal from the crazy old hermit (rare shotgun) is the best hat for Arthur! Can’t keep it though... and Marston can’t pull it off neither.
I love the amount of work you've put into finding all of these!
Just a couple things that may help you:
Classic Raccoon Mountain Hat isn't missable! I've encountered him multiple times!
Also I've had 100% success getting the Bucket Hat to spawn after the event where the tree falls on the worker's leg around morning-midday. Do the event, then go back to the worker's camp and the guy with the Bucket Hat is always just walking around.
It was fun to steal all these different hats. Classic Raccoon Mountain Hat & Bucket Hat are missable. Once you start with the Epilogue both hats are no longer available!

You can get a Heisenberg hat from the guy burning bodies at Coot's Chapel (you can't keep it 😭). I know it's a fairly common hat, but I choose to believe it's a tribute to Breaking Bad

You could get the nevada hat from the valentine sheriff if you either shoot it off the guys head or just punch him and then the hat will fall off then you could get it
