Bob Learn Jr. used a backup ball to convert during the 2016 PBA50 Fountain Valley Open. Pete Weber spared the 2-8-10 during the 2012 Roth/Holman Doubles Championship. Dick Allen picked up the split during the 2014 PBA Bear Open stepladder finals. Anthony Simonsen backed the ball in for a conversion during the 2020 PBA Tour Finals. Mika Koivuniemi converted the 2-8-10 for the Silver Lake Atom Splitters during 2015 PBA League competition.
Randy Peterson be like:
"I've made the 7-10 split 7 times."
"I've made the 2-8-10 once in my life!!"
The ultra-rare phenomenon of Randy finding an opportunity to talk about himself.
Missed PDW screaming "NUMBER 5" 😂
“Who do you think you are I am” remember that one lol when he won the US open I think it was
Mika also made the 4-6-7 on TV back around 2005. Dude's career has been phenomenal.
Yeah, that was 2003 at the Baby Ruth Real Deal Classic
Loving the new theme of these videos!
I just made this spare for the first time on Tuesday after bowling my best games ever. It was great
For a righty, the way that Bob Learn did it is definitely the way to go. It's a legit shot that you can aim for. The other right handers basically throw rockets at the left side of the 2 pin and pray for crazy pin action off the wall. This is assuming you know how to throw a decent back up ball. Ofc we know that Simo can throw back up balls well enough to win tournaments with it, so for him it's a relatively easy shot, like asking a left to make that shot.
Definitely a tough split. Pretty sure I've only picked it a couple times too. Like 7-10, throw and hope
I'm the opposite, Randy. Never made the 7-10 but I converted the 2-8-10 twice, and in the same week. I spared it in league and then in a practice session at the end of the week, I left it standing. Told my friend how I spared it and then went ahead to convert it the exact same way. Also have a big four conversion but I'm convinced the 7-10 will never happen, lol.
I would definitely give this a lower conversion percentage than the 7 10, because the 7 10 has been made 4 times on television (Roth, Mazza, Stayrook, and Neuer) But the 2 8 10 has only been made 3 times on television. (Allen, Koivuniemi, and Simonsen) So I would definitely give a 0.5% conversion rate.
I made the big four for the first time last week, a 2-8-10 someday would be fun.
Love the new background and music!
These pros just being so nonchalant about it I hit it on Sunday and lost my mind haha
10th frame, last game of a tournament and I leave the 2-8-10 for the first time. I had literally no idea how to convert it and just bombed my spare ball into the 2 pin from the left gutter and nothing happened 😂
Hi PBA, nice new intro.

Great video‼️ That’s a though one for sure‼️👍🏾
Note that Dick Allen threw the ball straight, because the Bear oil Pattern is over 50 ft long, making it much harder to do a reverse hook.
I should be on this list
AAAAAGGH HOW BOUT THAT AAAHHHHHH
So, natural progression, are we seeing big 4's, 4-6's or Greek Churches in the near future?
I’ve seen the 7-10 made twice on the first ball.
Simo have the best percentage to pick it up
hey did u guys know randy has made this once in his life???
Need a top 5 7-10 conversions
Unfortunately, there is not a single recorded televised 5-7-10 conversion in PBA history. The 5-7-10 has only been left on PBA television twice: once by Chris Barnes in the 2008 World Tenpin Masters in England, and secondly, by PDW at the 1997 Bud Light Championship. It's hard enough to leave behind a 5-7-10, let alone convert one. The only footage of 5-7-10 conversions comes from amateur video footage. Today's bowlers hook the ball heavily, reducing the chances of one showing up. If I had to guess, the next 5-7-10 on tv will be done on a long oil pattern, like the Bear pattern.
@@ianandersen265 i think you mean 7-10
@@NoahRonaldo22 No I do NOT mean the 7-10. PBA pros have converted the 7-10 in PBA history 4 times. Nobody in recorded PBA history has converted the 5-7-10 on Tour aka Sour Apple/Lilly. 5-7-10 is NOT a typo! SMH 😒
I've picked up the 2-8-10 twice, which is rare. I've left it five times, which I dunno how as I'm a lefty lol
the bowlers that made the 2 8 10 Split that features Bob Learn Jr, Pete Weber, Dick Allen, Anthony Simonsen, and Mika Koivuniemi were fantastic
I love how Dick Allen makes the 2-8-10 and Ronnie Russell won’t even look at him, let alone high five him. What a poor sport
Learn and simo should be first imo.
