Benjy Martinez converted the 2-4-10 split in his TV debut in the Players Championship Southwest Region Finals. Anthony Simonsen used a backup ball to take out the 2-4-10 during the PBA Tour Finals. Kyle Troup made the 4-9 during the PBA Scorpion Championship and Michael Davidson made the 4-9 during the Players Championship East Region Finals. Anthony Neuer became the fourth player in PBA history and the first since 1991 to convert the 7-10 on TV, doing so in the U.S. Open. - Sport
All of them were great conversions, but Anthony Neuer making the 7 10 was by far one of the best ever, and the fact that Rob called it made it even more priceless. Rob and Randy are the best commentating duo! :)
Facts
I think TD would disagree
Absolutely correct. I wish Rob Stone was a permanent fixture on PBA telecasts!
Only the last was truely impressive imo
The 7-10 Spare may be a once in a lifetime conversion But that was a Ridiculous OVER THE TOP CALL. I HAVE HEARD BETTER LOCAL TV BOWLING ANNOUNCERS! These 2 are Cheerleaders Not Commentators!!
Apart from Mark Roth, John Mazza and Jess Stayrook, Anthony Neuer's 7-10 conversion I will _always_ remember. First time on TV... in 30 years. Not to mention he was so cool and calm about it - the Bayside Bowl crowd would have *torn* the roof right off!
He did it off the ball too. He didn't have to get a lucky bounce from the back wall.
I was 10 in 1990. As a kid on a youth league who loved bowling, I started watching the PBA on Saturday afternoons on ABC with my dad. I remember watching the first few 7-10 pickups, and thinking that while knowing how hard firsthand it was to pick up the 7-10 (I never have), it must not be that rare, because by 1992 I've seen it three times on TV. Little did I know it would be 30 years later until I saw it again.
Very exciting stuff from the "Ginger Assassin". Still love the PBA!
Watching the ginger assassin make the 7-10 puts a smile on my face every time. Such a cool thing to do on TV.
RIP Mark Roth
5:05 Rob’s call was everything 😂
Dale was better than Jimmie ever was and I'm a better bowler than you
@@nascarandbowlingfan3888 you’re weird
Rob's commentary here is awesome... I love genuine excitement.. emotion in the commentary both
Wow that 7 10 split just wow. Great shot.
That's awesome to get the 7-10 period. On TV he has that memory forever. I've been bowling on and off since i was a kid. When I was bowling throughout college I bowled a lot. Bowled collegiate, multiple leagues, etc. I've never once picked it up. I once got the 4-6-10. part of me wished it was the big 4 cuz it definitely would've hit the 7
Another great Friday five guys! Well done!
That 7-10 was 2021 spare of the year 😂
"HE GOT THE 7-10 RANDY!" "GET ME SOME WATER AND OXYGEN" What an amazing commentator
"The Ginger Assassin", LOL! My redhead wife was Air Force Intelligence; I call her "The Ginja Ninja"
The 7-10 even butruff was like oh my god that’s incredible especially on tv
Wow that 7- 10 split and he got it
5:35 If you look closely, the 10 pin actually bounced off of Anthony's ball and hit the 7th pin. Such an awesome shot
It bounced of the wall
@@theechosenone4471 it bounced off the wall then bounced on top of his bowling ball then hit the 7 pin.
Yes, the commentator already said that in the video.
That last spare was much harder than a strike. Impressive! 😲
Anthony is a legend
Watching pro bowlers bowl makes me wanna go down the local alley and bowl high double figures
who knew bob ross impersonated a pro bowler
My mother made a 7-10 conversion!
A few weeks ago at our bowling league, I don't know how I converted a 3-7-9 split, for the first time since I started bowling over 40 yrs ago. I also got a patch back then for converting a 7-9 split. RIP Mark Roth 🙏 One of my all time favorite PBA bowler.
4:57 - “The 7-10 made on television only three times”
This was the first time it was made on TV in a year that did NOT start on a Tuesday. It happened in 1980 and twice in 1991, and both those years started on Tuesdays. 2021 started on a Friday.
This is the best useless information I have ever read. Well done.
@@aaronjg682 Thanks. Useless facts are a lot of fun.
At 3:14 Rob says "Versigh" Ohio... I was down there for a gig many years ago and we were being taken around town by a sweet older lady who was talking about the area.. operatic singers all, we said something about "Versigh" when she interrupted us.. I can't even explain it... But she said "Versigh?.. (laughter).. It's Ver-SALES!"
And it's also appropriate that the last conversion ties in to the very first time that particular split was ever converted on a live PBA broadcast many years ago on this particularly sad day for the bowling world.

와 리얼 칠텐은 공식도없고 그냥 럭키인데 쓰러뜨릴때 기분은 ㄹㅇ 퍼펙트 보다 짜릿하다
0:55 - Samba De Janeiro is now playing… if you listen closely.
One of these days, we will see a Big 4 conversion.
Walter Ray has made it on tv
@@austinhill591 I know. Sorry I wasn't specific enough.
@@lonewolfx499 it’s cool. I thought someone almost did I can’t remember eho
2:31 I KNOW THIS GUY! It's the guy from Home Alone!
#1 definitely deserves to be in the #1 spot
The ball was in the right spot in the back when the 10 pin was ricocheting of the side and back walls
2-4-10 leave I don't see very often. Was quite impressed with the backup ball conversion
4-9 is a nice conversation, but i don't find it that difficult as I've actually made this shot. Its similar to playing to the left side of a 7 pin.
7-10 is a clear #1 though. I think I've only witnessed the 7-10 made once from a distance.
My personal best split made is the the 6-7-10. Amazing feeling picking up splits!
Saw the 7-10 live. Think I woke the whole neighborhood up
And the crowd went wild...oh wait...
NUER DESTROYED that 10 pin JESUS man 😂 threw that ball 100mph at tht 10 no wonder y he spared it ABSOLUTELY DEMOLISHED THE 10 PIN 🤣. Nice job man.
How come you guys did not do a tribute for Mark Roth?
Yes
Is there any way that I can get Kyle troup/Anthony simonsen pink spare ball, I’ve wanted it for so long
Are there any prizes for the players for converting a 7-10 split?
The prize is immortality.
the split conversions on the Pba Tour were amazing including the conversions of the 2 4 10 , the 4 9, and the 7 10 Split
Just how amazing were they
@@pifster300 I’d be amazed if Phillips answered
I believe a can of tomato soup would amaze Phillips
So how much did Anthony make for that 7-10 conversion, there was an event that said it was $100000 for making it
RIP MARK ROTH He died the day you posted it
Damn 😅 If there were couple years ago that 100k For making that 7-10 😁
At 2:00, how does one throw that kind of curve!
I didn't know Mark had passed away. 😓
Actually made the 710 split in my teen League I bowl two handed it was a full frame I decided to go one handed and hit the seven pin bounced off at the 10 pin but it sucks because I had eight pins still standing.
Clips #2 and #3: The two-handed approach is known for being harder to be consistent.
Does Belmo know? 😏
@@pamelacass9642 A few exceptionally talented people don’t make the rule.
Am I crazy or are all these pretty standard except for the last one?
I call the dreaded 7-10 split "The Vampire Fangs Of Bowling" They're extremely difficult to knock down. However, it can be done. A left-handed Bowler is the one that got the job done.
Let a lefty show ya how!!!
Was Belmo the only Right-hander to make the 7-10 on TV? Seems watching this that all the others were lefties.
No. Mark Roth was the first and so far, the only righty on a stepladder final televised event.
I clicked to watch the splits but all I can focus on is the first guy not wearing his mask correctly
Y'all must not leave many splits. 2-4-10 is a split I expect to pick up myself, and I average 140.
1st 2 splits aren't that hard.......the 7 - 10 was awesome
Wow
0:55~1:09 What is the title of this music?
It’s literally impossible to make a 7-10 on a Brunswick GSX, because there is no bounce on a GSX pit curtain. Good job to Anthony Neuer
The first and second clips were really not that hard to finish.
When I was in my prime, I had extreme accuracy. I could bowl a ball straight down the lane on the same strip of wood. I picked up spares easily. One day, I sent the ball straight down the last strip of wood on the right side. As it neared the 10 pin, the ball fell off into the canal and bounced back to the left hitting the 10 pin straight across toward the 7 pin. And it hit the 7 pin. But not with enough force as to knock it down. So, it is possible to make the 7-10 pin split. You got to send the ball straight with absolute accuracy.
Call it an achievement if you can clear a 7-10.
The announcer is way over the top...
You remind me of sugondese
the 2-4-10 splits were NOT impressive...i've seen Bantams pick up that split
I don't get it, why wear a mask if you wear it like this? Just put it off then
Number 5 was not enough juice vs commentator said too much juice
You know it was a slow year when a 4-9 conversion is #2.........yawn
A 4-9 in the lanes the pros are playing in are quite hilairously tough
#5 and #4 isn't that hard. I picked that one up 4 times in 1 night.
Hahahahaha... the ginger assassin? Really?
My thing is a 7 10 conversion is amazing but mostly luck. Other conversions are skill.
The 7-10 split was the only impressive conversion in this video. The other conversions are ones that I have made myself several times over the years and I am just a league bowler with around a 185 to 190 average. These conversions were nothing special and I am sure MANY regular bowlers both men and women have converted these same spares, other than the 7-10. I did convert a 7-10 split one time and it is just luck that picks that one up with a nice bounce of one pin off the side or if you hit one pin hard enough to get it to bounce off from the pit and back to knock the other pin over.. as I said to pick up a 7-10 split you need luck.
They are still pretty difficult. Even professionals don’t convert it much, not that regular people don’t convert it.

If you're not going to wear the mask correctly, why bother?
This was lame! Only the 7-10 split conversion was worth mentioning and watching.
Rob Stone ::: 👎🏻
Number five, why is he wearing that stupid mask?
