i love the video!! i would love to see a âget ready with meâ for a ride, like how you prep him and what you use to ride him!! :)
Thatâs a fantastic idea, thank you!!!
@@HappieronaHorse: Please!!!! đ
He looks so good with the stars on his butt! Loved watching the video ^^ and yes more videos would be great! I always love to watch people ride their horses with a gopro. I find them very relaxing.
So glad you like the stars. âïž Thank you! The GoPro tip is very helpful. Hope to have more content for you soon. đđŒđ€
Aww i just want to give him carrots 20/7, look at that cute face, no one could resist that.
Thanks! He would love you for that! đđ„
That was so fun to watch. He was so good and patient. He looked really nice and loved the stars.
Thank you so much! đ€
I love the stencil idea. The start at the top of the tail was best! I wish I had thought of that when my son was showing goats.
Wow she did such a good job on the stars it's hard to believe this was her first time!
Fame is a VERY relaxed horse. I have never clipped a horse either in my 41 years of being around horses in many different ways with many different breeds and different activities. But I've heard all sorts of stories about getting a horse used to clippers or who get completely phased by just the sound of them, not even the feeling against the skin. You are fortunate to have a horse who has such a relaxed character. That's very important. I'm sure he must be a pleasure to ride on a trail. I've ridden a few spooky horses on trail and that was not a pleasure at all. I never cease to be amazed how a rabbit or a deer will scare a horse into "doing a 180" on a narrow trail and trying to head back to the barn. Fame looks smart and shiny. Good job!
Thank you so much! I was really impressed with him too esp given that it was his first clip. Iâm very fortunate. đ€ I agree, spooky and bolting is no fun to ride! đ
OMG....What a great horse and horsey mama! He looks comfortable đ
Thank you so much! đ„°
Such a sweet boy. He looks great! Soooo glad you didn't cut his mane! I love a long mane on a horse just flowing down. So beautiful.
Stars are so cute
Thanks!
Wow, just ran across your videos, going to watch all of them What a gorgeous horse. This video left me happy and feeling good. Thank You
I have been wanting to give my perch a shave for thehot humid Florida summer. It would take weeks, not days to get her to stand still for me, but I LOVE how Fame's coat looks! I just may give it a try. Thx for the idea & the helpful hints. New subscriber.
That looks awesome. Beautiful horse.
Thank you so much. đ€
He's sooo beautiful! Nice job clipping - it is not easy!
Thank you so much! â€ïž
Tip for the stars is to draw round them with tailor's chalk. The stencils we have are the reverse of yours and are made of plastic. When clipping horses my friend will wear a pair of overalls.
Great tips thank you! đ€ đđŒ
My friend is a professional horse clipper. I love going to clips with her. My "job" has become that of the professional horse petter, snack giver and brusher.
"That's you in a bucket!" Lol! Fame was such a good boy throughout..and you did such a good job for your first time. I find that it helps to wear a mask over my nose when I clip to keep the stray hairs from flying in!
Omg hairs in the nose đ I didnât even think about that!
He is such a good boy. Wow. U did awesome. I really like ur videos. Very informative
What a Hoot!!!! So glad I "fell" onto this!!!! So Cool!
Thanks!
Great job!
Great horse!
Great video!

Thank you Ellen!
This was so satisfying to watch đ€© You did such a great job!
Thank you Monica!! I appreciate you watching, so glad you enjoyed it. đ
Love the stars
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!
Wow! Thank you so much! â€ïž
Found your videos today and love them. We are looking for and may have found a draft cross to go with my wifeâs appy. Wondered if sunburn is an issue for you when heâs shaved? Keep them coming!
Thanks so much for your comment, I'm really glad you're enjoying the channel! Ooooh horse shopping, fun stuff! I haven't had him clipped in summer yet to be able to say for sure, but he's been clipped since November and so far no problem. I am, however, planning to find a slightly longer blade for summer just to be on the safe side. Good luck in finding yourself a horse!
Great job!!!
Thanks!
Great job clipping him. He is beautiful!!!
Thank you so much!
I like the star right by his tail the best. You did a good job
Thank you!
Such a handsome horse!
Thank you!
Wow your videos are Awsome you truly love that boy who wouldn't. You really did enjoy yourself .Yez more videosâ€
Thank you so much! đđ
I would like to see a " come along with me on the trail"
You have a gem, that turned out beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Still nervous about the height but I've settled on a drum for my next mount. So here I am watching your vids!! â€ïžâ€ïž
So awesome! Definitely check out the International Drum Horse Association if youâre in the US. Iâve definitely seen some drums on the shorter side (16hh) from time to time. Thanks for watching!
@@HappieronaHorse I have breeder in my state I'm already in contact with â€ïž I'm still a bit away but I can always go to her ranch and learn more and ask her a ton of questions!!
Nice, remember to put oil in the little holes as well as along the blade!
He is gorgious. Wow fantastic looking boy luck to have such a great owner you can just see he is so loved for .great looking with a tail hate when they take off the tail
Thank you! đ€ đđŒ

Lol thanks!!
Hello, you did an awesome job and he's such a good pretty boy. I just purchased my Lister Star clippers, haven't used them yet. I'd like to know what size blade you used?
You did a really nice job all over but especially his butt! He really is an exceptional horse, so patient and agreeable. Around here there are people you can pay to come and clip your horse. You saved yourself money by doing it yourself but it took 10 hours! That's the tradeoff I guess. Nice job!
Thank you so much! Yes, he really showed himself to be quite the trooper with the whole ordeal. OMG yes the first time was insane bc I was figuring out the stars and filming. When I went back and reclipped him last month it only took 4 hours thank goodness lol.
Beautiful horse!! Do you also trim hoofs yourself or do you bring someone in to handle that?
I have the best farrier!
Make more I have a draft cross 4 years e. Mustang a sweetie Dozzila means sweety In Italian 7 months when I got here not broke yet think she just got to 15 hands who knows how mig she'll get.. thanks for the cliping video I'll be doing it this spring if she gets woolie so keep it up. ThanksđđŸđŸ
Loved it heâs so pretty , luck
Thank you!
I leave fur out for the birds to.make nest good job!
†we always trail our horses in the winter so he doesn't overheat. He's a belgian.
Very cool! I love Belgians. :)
@@HappieronaHorse me too! I'm looking into buying a drum horse colt! Any advice for their feathers? I head they're a lot of work.
@@sarah_max20 We've found a dry paddock works best for us - when he was in pasture during rainy season the mud was insane lol. Honestly I don't do anything special, I just try to keep him dry and clean!
Love watching your videos of Fame. Heâs such a gorgeous boy! Have you (he) had any problems with being shaven so close to his skin? Skin irritations from pollen, bug bites, horse flies, etc? Just wondering. Not being critical. Love to see any videos you share with Fame. đđŽâŁïž
Thanks Kathy! Have been lucky to not have any issues when we used the fine or medium blade. That said I will probably stick to the medium blade this summer since it accomplishes the heat dissipation well but still offers a bit more protection.
Can anyone please recommend any other channels like Stephanie's? I really love this channel but it hasn't got very many videos just yet, so soon I will have seen them all. I love this type of horsey content. And I'm not asking for recommendations with any of these specifics I'm about to go on about. Just any good horsey channel recommendations please!
But I especially love watching stuff like this of down to earth horsey people, especially strong women out there living the dream, trucking and riding and caring for their own horse and sharing it all with us. I love watching ALL of it, every aspect of horse ownership.
My dream is to do what Stephanie does basically. Be a horse owner again one day. But would have to use stable facilities like her and truck to riding destinations and would have to do alot of the work all on my own. Being the only horse person in my family.
So seeing just every day people not necessarily people with multi million dollar stables and horses and high level competing and all that, (which is alot of what I get when just searching horsey content on here) honestly standards unattainable for the average horse loving girl who sees what Stephanie is doing as her more realistic dream for the future, so love seeing every day people who own like one horse and are actually out there living and doing my dream, showing how it is doable, strong women showing all aspects to non billionaire horse ownership and good kind riding in the modern world of right now, my true dream of horse ownership.
Please any recommendations of inspirational chanels like this for me to watch while I work towards this dream life goal.
Hi there, I am curious, I have a draft with a lot of hair (part belgium and Paint). How did the clippers hold up for you? I need to get a heavier pair that can push through his legs and unfortunately, need to clip the feathers due to scratches which he is proned too. Wanted your opinion on them. Thank you,
I like them, theyâve held up to several aggressive clips so far, although I didnât clip his winter coat this year. I donât have another brand to compare to, but Iâm satisfied at this point. I do find it annoying that I have to take frequent breaks to let them cool and oil them (every 5-10 mins) but perhaps this would be the case with other brands also. Also the little foam piece that protects the air vent gets clogged easily and itâs hard to remove hair from it. But Fameâs coat is very thick so they do hold up. I believe if you buy from Tractor Supply thereâs an additional warranty after 3 years you can trade in for a new pair if they arenât performing well anymore. Something like that.
@@HappieronaHorse Thank you so much for the info. I do need a pair and they were highly recommended. So I'll check Tractor Supply as well. Thanks again for your quick response. Much appreciated!!
I think he looked even so much better cliped its like my little shitsue she is cute all hairy but looks so cute when i get her shaved its like 2 different dogs .
Great video! How tall is he? He seems tall...how did you find such a tall gypsy? I am looking for one and cannot seem to find one over 15.2. Thanks!
Thanks! Heâs actually a Drum which is why he looks like a tall Gypsy. If youâre looking for similar I would definitely reach out to the IDHA (Intl Drum Horse Assoc) and see whatâs available. They have a Facebook group also.
Heâs 16.2 btw
You could make a lot of horse hair plaster with all that XD
đ
Fame is gorgeous and so chill. You clearly have a really good and solid relationship with him. He has a beautiful and soft expression. Loved the clip pattern you chose; especially the star on his butt that went into his tail Iâm sure heâll be much cooler during riding now and will dry off much more quickly too. Q: I think Iâve heard you say Fame is a draft-horse cross? But you call him a Drum horse. Iâve never heard that before. What does it mean? Not that Fame is but he looks like a Gypsy Vanner because of the long hair and his colouring. Thank you so much for sharing Fame with us.
Thank you so much! Iâm glad you enjoyed the video. I need to do a video on what a Drum horse is! They are still pretty rare and not many people are familiar. Drum horses in the US are created by crossing gypsy Vanners with either Clydesdales and/or Shires. Fame happens to be a gypsy/shire cross.
@@HappieronaHorse Thanks for the info on Drum horses. So my hunch that Fame was a Gypsy Vanner was half right :) Probably would be good to do a video on the Drum Horse when you have a chance. I'm sure lots of people would like to know about them and maybe see a few more horses like Fame. He is such a beauty. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
I feel like they should invent clippers with a much larger and wider head for large areas of the body on large horses where their is no body angles and it would be safe to have a head almost 4 or 5 times the size of that would be fine with large areas of the horses body, when doing a clip like this. I feel like that would be a great invention and cut down the time of full clips by alot. So it could be done in one day. Yes it would mean buying and owning three sets of clippers the two ones she had, the major body one and the lighter one as well as the extra large wide head one I wish existed. But I'm sure with the cut down of time it would give. She'd buy it. And so would many other people. So the large non angled or bony parts of the horses body could get done waaay quicker.
Wider clippers would be so helpful! đđŒ
What a great weight he is
Thanks!
What a handsome boy đ
On clean hair, a good quality clipper will go through that hair like a hot knife through butter, no need for show shine. I clip both my Old English Sheepdogs and they have a rather coarse coat.
I'm getting my blades sharpened soon, I'm hoping that will help too. I love OES! You don't see many around here unfortunately.
Next minute the fur grows back đ I would scream so loud
Interesting... I know absolutely nothing about horses and assumed that, like other mammals, their coat would insulate them from heat as well as from the cold.
It doesn't exactly work if the coat is soaked with sweat and mud.
How do wild/feral horses deal with this problem?
@@StoneE4 They find shade, refrain from moving too much, or die of heatstroke
Your horse is now a jojo reference
Help me out, Iâm clueless. đ Do you have a link?
and he farted. LMAO
Quite literally a stinker đđ
Star Spangled Vanner
I know heâs a Drum but still đ
I love this!!! đâ€ïžđ€đ

If indians only hade clippers back in the day
You donât clip horses. You need to talk to a real horseman.
