A Compost Conundrum
Vložit
- čas přidán 2. 06. 2024
- The plaintiff built two composting receptacles on the defendant's property. However, the defendant failed to pay the plaintiff and threw away some of his tools, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff built the composting receptacles for the community and just used her property as a storage area. The defendant is countersuing for the cost to fix the damages to the side of her house.

Jon Compost Bin Jovi
😂 good one
Definitely thought of Bon Jovi lol
Funny I was looking at him thinking gee he reminds me of someone then I saw your comment 😂😂😂😂😂
You win the internet today! Funny!
😂😂
This guy is suing her because she won’t allow him to take over HER yard and turn it into a composting business for himself? Wow, the nerve…
He seems to think he's the dog's balls ...
A 52 Million Ponzi Scheme !!! Threats !!!
He's a scumbag and had been convicted several times for the same with other people.
Defendant is one of the most honest and fair to appear on People's Court.
Except for the frivolous counter-suit...
At first I was against the heartless and insensitive Defendant, but after thè unusually lucid text exchanges between the two the image of the Plaintiff as the victim and good guy began to UNRAVEL. He's got some screws loose.
I agree. She reminds me of Katie Porter. Straight shooter.
She presents really well.
@@Aura983 It is an interesting tactic in the law, which is when someone sues you, you automatically sue them back, especially in a case where you are being sued frivolously. If someone sues you for something you know not to be true, you start thinking to yourself, what did they do in this particular escapade? If he had just washed his hands of the whole thing and racked it up for his own inaction, she would have simply washed her hands of all the things she didn't like. Although, you only have to deal with the civil law a little, and you learn really quick you can't sue and win for most things, especially the time to sue or defend yourself from a suite, that's just life.
His brain injury definitely contributed to his aggression and erratic behavior. I’m with her , I wouldn’t want him on my property
And he went to jail for fraud? He wasn’t wrapped too tightly beforehand
Males don't need brain injuries to act violent, emotionally unhinged and ineffectual in communication.
The defendant is such a caring person, we definitely need more people like her in this world!!!
This dude needs 24 hour supervision in a facility.
Man he's got some nerve calling someone a scammer considering his criminal history.
Omg ITS HER PLACE SHE WANTS U GONE IF SHE SAYS GO GOOOOOOO
AND GAVE HIM EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO GET IT. JESUS 😂
There is something wrong with the plaintiff.
yes a brain injury
He’s either a blatant liar or extremely deluded.
@@Van-hb2lk there was something wrong with him WAY before the injury.
Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s…….Or maybe he’s just ⭐️ Him! He’s maybe one of those guys in high school who got D’s, but Aced their SAT’s bc they’re Brilliant…yet socially awkward…and Nothing’s ‘wrong’ with him.
@@QurVgnA mentally stable person would not take over someone else's property and become angry when the owner tries to remove their clutter. This individual is clearly unstable and it is not the neighbor's responsibility to take care of him like a mother would.
That JM side eye towards the Plantiff when the defendant said he came to her door wanting her to dress him is EVERYTHING! 😂😂😂😂😂
I caught that!
Ohhhh he WAS preparing for the scam. ..she saw through it and prevented it....thats why he became so angry.😏
Omg I didn't think of that but you're totally right! I wonder what he was planning to do
I think he was probably going to sell the compost. He tried to sue for the value of it.
You are right.
I actually came here to say this! And that he definitely has some issues.
Going swimming right after the surgery is just as big of a concern as getting on the bike because of the risk of infection. I had surgery a month ago and wasn't allowed to shower for 2 weeks because getting it wet could cause an infection, which can be life threatening
I've had an internal infection from a procedure that was in a Drs office and yes I nearly died but it being internal was not visible. It was also extremely painful and I've had over 10 back surgeries.
This guy looks like he uses compost in a time machine he built himself... that's just a bike.
The comment he made at the end, “Are you…?”, in response to the interview guy, saying he was so sorry about that, was priceless 🤣🤣🤣 The shade. Lol.
He's the first litigant I've ever seen get the best of Doug 🤣
Sometimes he seemed not all there but then other times he was a quick wit lol
@@oldageisdumb welcome to navigating traumatic brain injury.
shes one of the most level headed person ive seen on one of these shows
I think the plaintiff’s brain is still messed up..
He has been storing Compost in there for too long.
😂mommy doesn't want his trash either
He's already weird without the accident I can only imagine how he is after the accident
“Along with the prison sentence, Orange County Superior Court Judge Thomas M. Goethals ordered Scott Yard to pay $7.7 million in restitution to the victims.” Crook.
7.7 million? Jeez. No wonder he’s living with his mother
And you know this how?
@@bjohnson1149 It seriously took two seconds to google this...
@@bjohnson1149 I just googled it to see if I could find it. Google “Scott Yard Orange County” the first result is “Last Suspect in $52 Million Scheme gets 6 Years in Prison” it’s in that article
@@bjohnson1149if you google “Scott Yard Orange County CA”, there’s an article from the Orange County Register and several other papers discussing him. Found a photo as well in one of them, it’s this guy
Hope she put a restraining order on him....he's crazy
Willi Wonka on compost crack 😆 you get nothing!!!! Good day sir!!! 😂
The way I hollered when the judge read the texts 😂😂 he is serious about his "Composting"
The defendant's emotional intelligence is off the charts.
Being too nice can lead to disaster.
Well, I thought she took too long to decide she disliked it? Like months later?
35:30 😂😂😂
“I’m so sorry for you”
“Are you?”
Always wanted to see someone have the last word with him 😂 cuz he’s the most petty 😅😂😂
You can't put hot compost directly on plants; and it does get hot. That's one reason it has to be turned, it is a science😊
Yes it does. In fact, when I was 11 my parents bought a house, and, unknown to them, the previous owner had left a pile of wet rags in the basement. Because it was wet, the pile of rags began to compost. It got so hot it set the house on fire
He seems somewhat dangerous and unpredictable
Agree… the defendant shouldn’t leave her cat with him!🤷♀️
Frankly, she dodged a bullet. He's exactly the type of guy who trips over his own rake but sues the property owner for $1 million because he was on her property when he did it.
I can just hear him: "She made me come over that day even tho I just had brain surgery". She'd've had to spend $10 grand on a decent lawyer just to protect her interests in court. Smarter to do the cleanup herself & drop his stuff off so he's nowhere near her property & property insurance coverage, lol.
I think in time he could be a stalker or dangerous in some way
She needs to get a restraining order
That's a good point perhaps that's why he did it on her property
He had nowhere to put his compost bins and took advantage of her and used her yard for his personal project.
Since he has no job.
Are they sure his brain damage was caused by the bicycle accident or was it there beforehand?
I think he had that head injury from birth...he's outta his mind!
Had he gotten hurt on her property, he could have sued. Huge liability issue with him, knowing he some type of mental delay/illness. He doesn't think like a normal person.
This guy is a pain in the compost 😂
The lengths dude will go to to compost is crazy
He's probably fun at parties..... I like people with healthy obsessions . also you can tell he's a bit unhinged.
?!wtf
Scott Yard is a total intrusive Spoiled Bratt , He obviously likes playing in other people's Yards .
To be honest. Unless he showed physical proof of a head injury that might be part of the scam as well just to buy himself time or try not to take accountability for his actions.
Alternate title: After the litigants state their case, JM beats a dead horse for 37 minutes.
Apparently, he still has that brain injury.
Well yeah lol. It's a for life things.
I appreciate that maybe you're trying to make some kind of joke here, but that's really insensitive to say.
Nor, was it funny.
Would you state something similar to someone who had lost a leg?
Regardless of this guy being on People's Court, millions of others suffer with TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), and yes, it's for the rest of their lives.
Please educate yourself, and grow some compassion.
These are youtube comments…. I think you might be expecting a little too much from them. Additionally, the plaintiff admitted to embezzling at least $52 million so he’s kind of an asshole and maybe does not deserve as much empathy as you think.
"Right next to that red whatever it is"
"Rock"
"Yeah"
I wonder if the plaintiff was this much of an asshole before the head injury. Watching him look more and more incredulous/confused as the case went on, as it slowly dawned on him things weren't going his way, was so annoying - yet a little satisfying.
Edit: he served prison time for fraud? That answers me question "lol"
I thought all adults knew that you can't mess with head injuries....smh.
Added: "I'm so sorry you lost." "Are you?" 😅
"And the defendant is on her way out...."
The way these two ramble triggers my anxiety 😂
Omg I found my tribe because same! 😂 I continued to fast forward through out even JM saying the same thing over and over.😩 😅
@@lalalovely8910 Right?! I thought I was the only one that couldn’t handle it 😂
I was all shook up....my lawd😩
This was twice as long than necessary with all the repetitive conversation.
This guy has stressed me out he is clearly a problem he's confusing and weird
This was unfair and she did prove her case. He is a scammer, arrogant and he should of paid more.
I wanted Doug to ask about the Ponzi scam
At that point, the damage caused by the hematoma was complete. The compression and the ischemia was fixed. Yes, medically trained.
This plaintiff was crazy😂😂
Something tells me he legally changed his last name to YARD. Surprised he didn’t change it to Mr COMPOST. !! 😂
"this has taken a lot longer than... composting" underrated lol
If you can swim and ride your bike after surgery, you can move your sawhorses. Nothing about this guy makes sense. For anyone interested, look up keyhole gardening. It's composting and growing herbs and a lot of times it looks much better than composting. Although what that guy had is the bare minimum for a good compost container.
Happy Monday people's court fam!
Happy Monday
Happy Monday from Colorado!🎉

You as well & everyone !!

🇺🇸❤️🙏🏽Magic Words From Defendant “He Was Reckless” and she didn’t need his recklessness around her property!! 🇺🇸❤️🙏🏽
I had to stop watching. OMGOSH! This banter about him not understanding what the text was about for the pickup, etc. smh...I felt like I may need brain surgery soon.
The plaintiff is a textbook con-artist.
Creeped me out!
When he said I asked her to take me but she didn't but I got there.. Like ok. Good for u
Happy Monday everyone let's have a great week
:)
I wish the defendant was my neighbor. She’s kind, honest & really sweet. The plaintiff is creepy & scary!
This guy is bonkers 😂
The defendant in the end sounded pretty reasonable, not bitter. I personally wouldn't have engaged in someone with a brain injury and she should have just asked his mom if she could drop the things off.
Yeah he got a couple screws loose
Doug at 35:00😂😂😂😂😂 my husband and I kept replaying it and cracking up!
That's always the best part. He's always throwing shade😂
She knows how to make a short story long.
100 BUCKS IS BULL 💩
This case is unnecessarily long😢
Agree… the judge is definitely dragging this out too long!
I don’t know what year this is from but I can tell you that getting someone to replace a section of siding costs a lot more more than $100!
Gosh they talked way more about this dude’s life than the case! Hate when these cases, especially the judge, talks and blabs about irrelevant things. This case could’ve been handled in less than 10 minutes. Had to skip this video to the verdict
It was a worthy cause but you lost. I'm so sorry about that. “ are you”.🤣🤣🤣
He was low-key trying, to make a move on her 😁😁
Nah, not every guy hunches everything that will let them. Calm down
@@TopherGrant I'm not sure of that, I don't think he has a girlfriend and I do think he was after her.
The judge pretty lenient with this guy. I'm amazed at her lenience with this guy. Wtf is wrong with her.
I thought she was being so lenient because he was a little special 😂
She knows she had a brain injury so she's showing more empathy.
@@StaceyMilo2011tolerance of poor behavior and affording excuses to our weakest is what got us here.
@@user-gd4ws2ub2o He may have already had neurological issues before his crash, but even if he didn't he is obviously showing signs of it now. So, if showing empathy for those who may be a little slower or less competent because of true medical issues is a bad thing, then this world is in trouble.

SUCH A LONG CASE & FOR WHAT BOTTOM LINE CORRECT VERDICT HE SHOULD'VE PICKED UP HIS BELONGINGS. THE AUDACITY OF SOMEONE TELLING YOU WHAT THEY WANT ON YOUR PRIVATE PROPERTY SMDH
No iron or calcium in his compost ?
Garbage.
How will you find anyone to fix all those pieces of siding for 100 bucks? Oh, JM expects her to fix it her self and buy the material with the 100 bucks.
Wow! The way he said “thank you for telling me” is ridiculous and very telling. There is something definitely wrong.
I bet this guys childhood bedroom was filled to brim with David Bowie posters!
Sue for the moon and walk away with a hundred bucks...
He does not have any common sense of getting in the pool and riding his bike after brain surgery
Trying to get through my work morning and I am so ready to speed to the end. She is talking way too much !! 🤐
Slow down. Try foreplay. It's not a race
We don't know how many drunken bicycle accidents the Plaintiff has had over the years, but I suspect that he hasn't been right in the head, mentally, for decades...
Especially with his past criminal record.
He probably lives with his mom so she can keep an eye on him, due to those accidents. He’s probably mostly harmless but you never really know when people get wound up.
Sad to see David Bowie's little brother falling on such hard times.
Advance to mark 34 minutes to conclude this nonsense
The reason we watch every day IS for the "nonsense"
try foreplay, it's not a race to the finish. Your woman will thank you.
Love the longer episodes☺️
Ikr! People telling you to jump ahead in the comments, uh, why you watching?
I, personally, found this case super boring. Lol

“She didn’t know until she was told” 😂
The perfect case to drift off to. I'm going to dream about soil...😅
I guess it’s true… women will live longer than men 😂😂😂

I just don’t get this sentiment. The whole point of watching is to enjoy the watch. Not to just get to the end of it.
@@stacybstacyb I agree with you. Sometimes I don't like Judge Mathis cases because most are 7 to 10 minutes long. I don't mind a long case if it's a lot of information but it's the same thing over and over. I still love my court shows and wasn't trying to complain. My head just hurt from both litigants.
Apparently legal proceedings didn’t work out too well for Scott 😂😂
Can you imagine Doug as a grandpa 😂😂😂😂😂 he be roasting he own grandkids 😂😂😅😅
The plaintiff looks like a puppet.
😆
Nah, Call it for what it is- Compost vs Real life
I love the judge….when he’s talking about the head injury…the judge - a drill? Lol
I live on 8 acres in the woods. All my peelings I put out for any critters that come by. Eat a lot of veggies and fruits. I see fox, coyote, rabbits, squirrels, deer, falcons and many birds-even a bear siting 1 mile away. Composting is stinky and nasty no matter where you put it. Not a fan of composting.
I bet this guy's an Aquarian...only people that would ride the bike the day after😅
We all have known a Scott in our lifetime 🙄😂. I feel she should have gotten something more for all his weird and somewhat harassing texts. He is a walking red flag
lol. The defendant’s testimony is very thorough, well spoken and non malicious
I knew he was cooked when she started talking
She asked if they relieved the pressure. Hid response is NO! They took a a drill. Duh!
OMG….stop texting this dude and just tell him I don’t want your stuff on my property too much texting!!

All 3 of them are long winded!
She should have never let a stranger do all of that trying to get something free.
