I'm 36 and a lot of times I feel like life has passed me by. When I listen to Ant or Slug talking about their passion for hip hop at 50 it inspires me to fulfill my own life. I love Atmosphere and the perspective it has brought my life. thank you to Anthony and Sean (and Ali) for the words of wisdom.
Thanks so much for listening and for tapping in. Much love
@@BrotherAli_Travelers nah man, Thank YOU for educating, loving, and guiding us all these years. It's love.

Love this talk, and halfway through: Ant has NEVER been the weak link of Atmosphere, that's just a "No"
I have loved this man's creations for bout 20+ years
I am so grateful to hear this Full interview
ANT has cemented himself in HipHop History. Dope!
As soon as Yesterday comes on I brace myself, knowing the tears will be coming. Without Ant, it just wouldn't hit the same. Appreciate this interview and your hard work Brother!
Hey Brother, I would love to see and her a interview with Ms. Kathy the mother of Michael (Olive Eyedea Heart) Larsson maybe you can bring DJ Abilities on as well
Ant - Thank you for doing this interview despite being a private person. Your music is dope. As long as your making music, I'll be listening.
Brother Ali - great interview.
You Cant Imagine How Much Fun We're Having is such a dope record!
So great hearing from ANT again, feels like we need another 3-4 episodes to hear so much more from ya'll...Such a legend & his work speaks for itself! Respect to ALI & Rhymesayers, always MN Love. Epic. Bless Up. =)
Thank you Ali
Love you both. The world doesn’t have nearly enough Ant interviews. Much appreciated
Strictly leakage was a great album

@@BrotherAli_Travelers This was an amazing talk to be a fly on the wall for. I’ve come into knowing you guys for about 6-7 years now. The inspiration, the ethics, and the heart have really helped me become a stronger and healthier musician. Y’all are some of the best. Stay Blessed✌️❤️🤘
I’m listening to this on Spotify right now. What Ants talking about just wondering if his Hero’s from NY would know that he existed doing what he was doing. It reminds me of the Evidence line, “I never thought about Fame, I just thought about if KRS would know my name.” That recognition from your peers and the people you respect. Validation. Well they heard and so did all of us fans. Much Love to RSE. Brother Ali. Hip Hop is 50 and I’m proud to have been raised in a pair of headphones 🎧
Much love
I'm anticipating hearing the next Interview with ANT fffsho
I guess if anyone could convince Ant to do an interview, especially such a long one, it would be you. Glad you got him to do it.
you cant imagine is ant at his best. he was adding more layers and really getting creative. unfortunately they had to stop making albums like that because of the sample issues and they had to bring in musicians after that album. you cant imagine is the best atmos record.
I love the hearing the story behind an artist, I admire! This is so good.
You should do one where you specifically dive into your projects one day 🙌🏽
In The Caravan there’s a full oral history of my demo tape, Rites of Passage. More to come. Also a lot of rare & exclusive music & videos there. BrotherAli.com/join
Thank you for this and your art.
Have loved these guys for 20 years and seen them live in 3 countries.
True artists that continue to develop personally and artistically.
Keep going.
Thank your Brother Ali
so great to see these guys and the basement where the magic happens
Great to have you rockin with us!
Always wanted to know all this stuff. Longtime fan of Rhymesayers. Thank you Ali. Much appreciated
This was a great interview... I love Ant's genuineness... You can tell he was nervous but he came out of that State and came thru with a lot of rare gems of knowledge about his journey thru his life...
Wish I could give you this feeling when Ali uploads
Aye!!!!
Bro, this is the Pinnacle of interviews for an aspiring beat maker inspired-by-you-guys and who works at a Chicago hotel, gets home at midnight, fires up the MPC, and goes to real work. Every night until 4-5am. Addicted to the therapy. I appreciate the in-depth thoughtfulness here. A lot of genius insight here into the mind of one of the best. And now that I think of it, I think I made Slug sign my Converse shoe in Milwaukee after a show circa 2003. I think they were with Crescent Moon? Haha. I'm 37. Huge fan. For the loving sake of art.
Really appreciate it, my friend!
Thank you for sharing ANT with us. That was special and amazing! Well done!
I Met ANT and slug at summer time 2023 San Diego, What an Honor it was to met them. Ant seems very chill very calm. I took my “Melodies And Memories 85-89” cassette tape he produced and got that signed. Thank you Brother Ali for the Ant podcast, there’s a lot i learned about Ant very interesting person
and i wish i had all those questions for him like you did when i met him lol, i hope to see a part 3.
Such an amazing 2 part interview… I agree at least a third is needed. 2 of my favorite people, thanks for bringing ANT out of his shell brother!
My pleasure: it’s a labor of love.:.
Nice
Thankya Thankya
Thank you for this brother Ali, I watched when it dropped but felt the need to come back and thank you and Ant. You're prob a very select few that can get him on something like this and speak for this long. Iv just turned 40 and and have young children and also struggled with sobriety so im looking fwd to hear part 3. Much love and respect to yall both for doing this one frm NewZealand.
OneLove
This was a great interview. I don't think anybody outside of his crew could get Ant to be this candid. This was great insight into his life, thought process, and perspective. The conversation went beneath the surface into his development as a DJ and producer. A lot of "inside baseball" (which is the best thing a listener can get) on the Rhymesayers crew and the scene they created. Very dope. Salute Brother Ali for creating the space for this to take place. Salute the legend Ant, one of the illest ever.
Thank you for this
My pleasure!
1:20:00 this is exactly like the end of 8 mile after rabbit wins the battle
Brother Ali - got your reply before I watched this one… so I watched your jacket a little bit more…. I should have just said you look good not talked about your jacket to compliment you.
Love ❤
Been a fan since 2001 nd been waiting for this interview love the podcast
Much appreciated my friend
Thanks so much! Love from REAUXWRLD here in Norwalk, Ca
Love back from Istanbul
The documentary yall are talking about is called "Elements of Style" and its on youtube yo.
I love these interviews with Ant and Slug for the openess and sincerity of your friendship and love for them both...the kinship you share and the way in which they have inspired, mentored and encouraged you as an incredible artist amongst some of the best to ever make this art..Ant is a true artist,he lives this culture and is so Involved in the creation of true rap artistry pushing the culture forward... his knowledge and passion for music is so evident in his use of super eclectic samples ,incredible beats and vision for the production and how an artist will fit the track...thank you for this incredible interview again Brother Ali ,you are such a pleasure to listen to and a great interviewer..
Thanks so much for this message. It really means a lot. And you nailed it on the relationship piece.
Much love
The best thing about Atmosphere is that EVERY album that ever came out people hated it….until the next album came out and they hated that one and everything before it became the “classic”.
Brother Ali please interview Aesop Rock😊 I seriously enjoyed this interview 😊 ty
these interviews are great
❤❤❤❤
💚💚💚🌹🌹🌹
Abolutely loved this interview! I was fortunate to have met Ant at a show in Pontiac MI about 10-12 years ago and have a drink with him and talk music. He was just a cool down to earth genuine dude, he may have even bought a round.
New Podcast idea Ant interviews other hip/hop/rap producers on their early developement as creators/artists and their trials and tribulations on their path to success.....(if he feels like being social that is....)
Awesome.
This was amazing - seeing as brother Ali has worked with ant and is his close friend you get to really see ant in a it’s most purest form. Super ill thank you guys.
That’s the goal 100% Much love
I love this!!
💚🌹
Man I'm so glad you're stepping into its arena, I can't wait to see more!
Thanks so much! There are over 75 episodes at this point with more to come
Incredible artwork
Would be really cool if you guys would pick a few songs listen to them and break them down
Dope episode - Ant is a legend.
That was wonderful. Thanks for sharing
It’s a labor of love
Ant is nice with the beats, keep that shit wild style and i'll smile check the floor gods got nice tile....
Love this Ant interview so dope!! Now it’s time for Siddiq to share his story!!! Really hope that happens! I don’t think I seen any interviews of him except one random one I saw from the late 90s I think 🤔 and of course the recent headshots history episodes
I could watch this conversation everyday lol. US had some bangers but I don’t find myself listening to it as much as it deserves. I think that some of the songs are difficult to listen to because of how serious the topics are.
Strictly Leakage is 🔥🔥🔥
Oddly enough, Champion EP is probably my favorite project that you all made. Bad MF has some serious heat and Rain Water is prob my fav Ali track overall.
Hell, everything that Ant touches is gold. Peace and love to both of these guys. Their music is a big part of my life. 👊🏻🫡💚
Much love
That Shrapnel story is so perfect 😅
Right???
Also, because I've heard Brother Ali continually praise "You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having" and even suggest it as one of the all time classics of hip hop, it's so strange to me as an Atmosphere fanatic since 2000 how it's the one unlistenable Atmosphere album to me (aside from "Little Man" and "That Night" of course), but I still have a hard time with most songs on that album... Makes me wonder if I'll have a light bulb moment sometime
Very nice😋🔝

Ant - "U prolly don't even remember but you're on Arrival doing the hums".
Brother Ali (with genuine surprise) - "Ooh" 😂🤣
We were all in the studio so often in those days and I would just do whatever Ant asked me to do. I genuinely forgot about that. 😝
👊🏻♥️🔥
Hey brother, could you remind me which tape ant said has the explaining of why spawn left the group? Thank you!
Headshots Se7en, but I’ve never seen it. Might be the reissue.
Does any body know the Atmosphere song they are referring to in regards to the lawsuit and the artist who sued them ?
I'm just taking a guess, but Ahmad Jamal's Pastures sampled on Lovelife, and he recently past away so could it be that?
someone chime in if they know pls
@@gadylagarotzi hey, your guess is as good as mine . 🤷🏻♂️ lol
@@gadylagarotziI think it’s tattooed hands, Lamont dozier. He’s a Motown guy and they’re notoriously brutal with sampling
you are killing me not splicing in the footage you referenced of your first time at their house!!!
