I like this Cody...very confident, completely understands what he brings to the table....He has definitely grown....
The man knows his worth and he's a Business man 👏
Broke my heart to hear him say that he wouldn’t be able to win the big one and hand it to dusty because the “dream is gone”.
But it isn’t, dusty’s always watching
He's not even Dusty's son. Get over it.
@@robertcornelius3514 🤓
@@robertcornelius3514 what? Yea he is
@@robertcornelius3514 think someone needs to do a background check into Dusty, clearly shows he is the biological father…. Dipshit 😂
It’s the mother that is different LMAO.
Ariel is killing it with wrestling interviews lately.
MJF interview was great.
Yeah he sure is
Too bad he botched it at the end with that awkward azz fist bump 👊 😂🤣 lmao Ariel is such a dork but ya he’s killing it with the wrestling interviews.
It could be tomorrow when the Meltzers and Alvarezs are gone from the industry. Ariel is a pro. 99%of wrestling journalists are marks.
Ive said this before, hes a better wrestling interviewer than mma.
I want to see Cody at the top. There's definitely room. There's definitely stories. There's definitely potential. Build him up. Capitalize on people wanting to see him become The Guy. It's a good motivation.
Nah hold him down. Underused him. . .it works 😁🤌👌
The Cody Era 🔥
No room for anyone but Reigns
@@jamesmiller5331 No he already there now Vince will grow more stars
The story writes itself.
"Ive got unfinished business."
Cody is so well spoken and his wrestling IQ is up there with the best of them
I agree, he's in his wrestling prime and I'm glad he's spending those years with the WWE so many potential fueds on both brands
He IS the best of em
most definitely, he was made for this and he lived it his entire life
Bet ya he cant say sizzling sausages
@@yolo1690UDA 🤣that's brutal,man
Cody’s return just feels like an crossover that he brought his American Nightmare persona that he has become for the last 6 years
I loved Corey’s call when Cody did the stardust taunt “he’s shedding skin”
Graves really doesn't get the love he deserves on the mic
@@alexvasquez537 Graves is like the Cole of 2011, or attitude era Lawler, we need that biased opinion in commentary.
Not watched WWE religiously since my teens but loving these interviews.
What an incredible story.
Dork
Or nightmare
@@ALIAN18 Time will tell.
Waiting for the watch AEW comment
This was the show and in an interview with Cody that I first heard about AEW. Now I’m back to hear about why he left and came back to WWE.
Feels surreal seeing Cody Rhodes back in WWE 😃
He won’t say exactly why he left
@@jayw.1042 why would he?
@@jayw.1042 he can't both him and tk sign a nda
He left because he didnt like being Stardust, created a Pro-Wrestling company called AEW now goes back to Sports Entertainment 🤔🙄
His Mania 38 match was one of the best of all time. Cody brought the BEST out of Seth, and was himself INSANE. So excited for this next chapter for Cody.
Same!!
Another fantastic interview from Ariel. Interesting what Cody said about the style of AEW not being always to his and Dan Lamberts taste.
I'm guessing it could be with how sometimes AEW is more match than feud/story/character focused? Sure WWE has plenty of crappy stories but it does seem more story focused
@@BSingh-on4qr every match in AEW has to have an angle behind in, someone always interferes, people get brainwashed into thinking AEW is brilliant just because it's new and they hate WWE
@@lewisprice4482 there is a lot of good things in AEW but on top of that is a crazy amount of terrible angles, characters and matches, same goes with WWE though
@@lewisprice4482 nah it’s just good. That’s why people like it
@RICO not true at all
Cody is by far the most educated wrestler I think wrestling has seen since the undertaker. He truly gets everything to a point where it's truly intimidating without even trying to be. All time wrestlemania classic last night. I stopped watching wrestling a bit ago but I had to turn in to see that match after I heard about it.
No he doesn’t. His promos are bad and he can’t get over as a natural baby face. He is a great heel.
Lol the Hitman wayy above Cody.. Not even remotely close
He really is the G.O.A.T.
@@michaelharbach1987 I said since the undertaker. Bret was wrestling long before taker buddy. Read
@@redkritter1225 I think Cody has a great Wrestling mind but he lacks the self awareness to apply the logic he has for outside situations to himself, which is unfortunate because if he and Brandi had self awareness they’d be a great Wrestling power couple
Looking forward to RAW now. Good to see him back in the WWE.
Stopped watching wrestling religiously in 2002 but keep in contact here and there to check what's going on and see the new talent. But I must say this guys got heaps of charisma and is a generational wrestler. Deserves a big push!
He’s the reason I will probably start watching raw again!
Same, I am *ALL IN*
Same here. I watched both nights of WM just because of him. Def will try to keep up with the Shows.
Same here. Wrestlemania was a great showcase for some really good stuff I’ve been missing since I last tuned out. Can’t wait to see Cody back on TV
Me too excited for raw after mania
Me too
When cody first appear at tv , i was like this guy dont have the charisma to be pro wrestler . Today , i become his fan . Never give up
I know he hates the Stardust character, but he was brilliant with that gimmick.
My boy that gimmick was never over.. it got 0 reaction and it was forced lol
He certainly was
Bro, it was amazing! I loved the entrance, how he came out and want straight to the visual wall to try to find his "smokes and mirrors", it was hilarious! And also the theme song was underrated as well!!!😂❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
@@swazie8455 i agree. But we can’t deny that Cody tried his best to make it work it’s just the creative team doesn’t know how to fully develop that character.
The only great thing about that was the theme in my opinion, the character was never over but that theme was amazing
Cody is a true player of the game. Nothing but respect and admiration, he’s doing everything his theme song says.
I was one of the few AEW fans who began by disliking Cody (because his in-ring is so poor compared to other BC/Elite members) but who actually became more and more a fan of his as time went on, because of his incredible ability to tell a story. Most AEW fans started out loving him then began hating him more and more.
It is a rare thing for me to watch WWE (only recently done Roman and Brock), but now that I see they will be using his American Nightmare gimmick complete with the presentation used in AEW, I absolutely will watch Cody’s segments on Raw.
I remember going to AEW in Chicago and everyone was booing him! Lol I was one of the few that cheered for him!
To all the aew and wwe marks, this is called maturity!!!!
Followed being the elite. Rooting for cody to win the big one. Even tho I am sad he left aew. Hope cody comes back one day. But if not oh well
WWE is Cody's greatest challenge. He was extremely successful in the outside from WWE wrestling world. Now his last goal is to be WWE universal champion
Ring of Honor, ALL IN, AEW. Return to WWE is the next challenge
Going be wwe championship
I love how he left WWE as Stardust and came back as the American Nightmare.
Great interview. Cody is a class act. I wish all company jumps could be this professional.
He took a chance and it paid off. Hopefully he’ll have an amazing run in wwe. But it’s also clear he has made bank for his family.
Boring Roman will not drop the belt
@@IBTU it's not up to Roman completely tho
@@IBTU Roman will drop it eventually
@@IBTU well he can drop the wwe title
That interview really needed to be done and glad Ariel got to do it! Thanks for bringing back relevance in WWE again!
Cody is an articulate, intelligent and respectful human being. I am a Cody Rhodes fan for life.
I love that he's keeping so many things under wraps. I miss when things were kept behind closed doors. This is such a different Cody, not taking back anything he said is something I can respect, even though I'm not an AEW fan, I can respect that as opposed to walking it back. I really hope he does great in WWE and eventually wears the top strap.
Generational talent right here. He was truly born to do this
Glad he’s back home. 🏡… looking forward to what he will offer…
I knew why he left aew from the start. He wanted the wwe world title. He built himself up to be in a position to able to achieve that.
Or even the AEW world title.
It’s good business too. Because if he becomes a bigger star in the WWE. He has a good relationship with AEW where he can come back and give them a boost.
@@mosyed4352 why would he go back AEW??
@@tylerpitman2339 If he has a two year contract with the WWE. After it runs out, if Tony offers him more money he will jump ship again. Come on. Same thing Brock does with the UFC and WWE.
@@mosyed4352 it's not a two-year contract LOL, Cody even said it. But I do think he will return to AEW
Ariel your amazing for making this interview happen. It was an awesome, very insightful interview to hear Cody Rhodes since leaving AEW. I really hope he gets the run he desires. Loved him in AEW even through the bad times because if it wasn't for him , the EVPs and Tony, wrestling would not be this great. I hope the love he says he has for everyone there is reciprocated and still around if he does ever come back, but until that day I'll be watching him in WWE.
His return nd the match they had saved my love for pro wrestling🙌🏾
I feel the same way, I can’t get into AEW. I love a bunch of the guys on there but just doesn’t entertain me. WWE was feeling the same way. The thought of Cody leaving AEW back to WWE intrigued me. And from the entrance last night to the end of the match, it was just great!
@@jeremyhaberer6377 I feel the same way
This is excellent Ariel. Great interview
best time to be a pro wrestling fan, post the attitude/ruthless agression era...
It’s gonna come back trust me, they have a lot of talent and I haven’t kept up with wrestling lately but what I’ve seen from promos and just everything in general it seems like Vince took a step back and realized sometimes less is better and it isn’t always the best to fix something that isn’t broke yet.
Yeah we can call it post pandemic era 😂
@@americafkyeah8695 lmao that’d be hilarious 😂

The most fitting part about being with Seth he was involved in the last storyline with Dusty in 2013
Excellent freakin interview 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
We needed this
One of the best and most intelligent minds in the business. The growth in him will be valued by WWE and Vince in particular, Vince loves smart workers who have vision beyond just what they are doing in the ring and as whole “get it” and get the business (The WWE business)
I really-REALLY-hope that Vince doesn’t screw Cody over. His last 6 years of work as the American Nightmare is what made me a fan of his.
Good luck
He isn't. And why would he sign him to a huge contract just to screw him
@@wa2k99 thats what he does
Nah, Cody will be fine. Cody will be a money maker for Vince. Also, who knows what the contract said, but if Vince breaks whatever contract Cody and company agreed on, it's a breach of contract and Cody can sue.
@@BoomNoBastic lol im sure good ol vinny mac has all that worked out thru his escape clauses. U ever notcie how ppl can get fired but never quit? Well why didnt any of those contracted fired ppl sue??? 🤔🤔
The million dollar [follow up] question for me (@9:03) is to understand exactly “What It Is He Wants”.
He eludes to his “want” being to finally win “the big one” & dedicate it to Dusty. He has spoken about this before (specifically how he ‘had’ always dreamed of winning the championship & handing it to Dusty). So perhaps a posthumous version of this, is what he is referring to.
If permitted to speak about it, I’d love to hear him articulate it specifically (& then I’ll be rooting for him to achieve it).
That said, it is Cody, so I could be way off & he has other motivations entirely.
Great interview!
That's exactly it. He'll cut a promo on RAW saying it. I honestly see him dethroning Reigns come SummerSlam. It'll be a really feel good moment
Cody and set and stone cold and Ko was Two of the best moments in mania in years
Nope. The Austin segment was nothing to me. Big f k he does the same bs since 97. Son idgaf!👇🏼
It's just so surreal to see Cody in a WWE environment!
I always felt Cody was very underrated in his first WWE run.
I really hope there’s no sour feelings between Bucks and Cody. I get how Bucks get emotional with the fact that Cody is leaving what he and they created for WWE, but he’s going back to reinvent his and the Rhodes name. Can’t hate on that. Plus i dont get what he means about the experience maxing out, there were so many exciting avenues for him to explore in AEW but he didnt.
He lost the opportunity to challenge for the AEW world title. His reason for being back in WWE is to win it for his Dad.
@@KassidyGinn dumbest reason since it was his choice to not win the title...
He means Tony wnated him to turn heel and he refused.
@@MrThundaro More the fans than Tony. Because we’ve lived Heel Cody in the indies and it was blockbuster then, imagine what it could be now. He loves the love, maybe he doesn’t want to live the heat. Unfair but definitely understandable.
Great interview and so happy for Cody and the family!
I hope he makes it to the top top of wwe. It’s been mad interesting watching his story unfold.
Cody’s coming up man ! He deserves it I’m happy for him he’s the future champion !
Rooting for this guy all the way
I hope to see him back and use everything in his promos.
Love this freaking guy, always have. Cheers Cody
So weird hearing Cody openly talking about AEW and even working the gimmick like with Max after he left.
Cody probably did hundreds of interviews since his return, but he does each interview passionately
Im happy for Cody Rhodes coming back to the wwe wrestlemaina 38 last night
Best time to be alive, great interview.
Awesome interview Ariel, as always!
I think there is love and respect all the way around from the AEW crew and Cody. He just kinda got booked into a corner there. I truly believe there are no ill feelings or ill will.
He booked himself into that corner...literally he originally did his own booking that prevented him from going for the title.
@@cjtuckerbpmc precisely! and he dug himself a hole when he decided he won't go after the aew world championship
He did it to himself and distancing himself from The Elite and the World title picture killed his booking. That and refusing to turn heel.
Bro Cody Is So Well Spoken. He Truly Is The Best Wrestler In The World. Just Captivating, This Has Been An Absolute Ride. Truly Hope They Strap The Rocket To Him.
Great interview from each of them.
Amazing interview. Love watching these
Haven’t watch WWE in forever been following cody in aew heard he came back and now I’m watching Sunday wrestlmania 😂
Great interview 👍
Again
Cody is promoting himself with these interviews, he knows no one's gonna be able to promote him quite like himself...
This will open doors for other guys to leave and come back to either company this is such a huge moment for wrestling
So happy to see Cody Rhodes back in WWE 🙌
Cody mentions not wanting to talk trash about each organization…yet he was the biggest trash talker of WWE in AEW! lol.
What's he going to say... He has to own up to it. And if he doesn't become the next big thing in wwe, it's on him
@@DiGesoGino I think he’s better off just not talking about it. I don’t think anyone in AEW is really talking trash outside of Cody. And WWE mentions on AEW are largely storyline driven not hateful.
There is no doubt that Cody backed himself to go away and become a superstar knowing that Vince never turns down a good business opportunity to bring him back on a bigger deal with greater creative control. Credit to him for backing himself. I love that quality in anyone.
When he mentioned HHH looking after his dad and how he could never pay that back. Gave me chillllls
Cody really did the media rounds
I think the Stardust reference to he made a wrestlemania was perfect because of the line that Corey graves said afterwards saying that Cody was shedding his skin. It was perfection
Best thing I can say at 73 yrs old and been fan since 13 and spent 10 yrs working as wrestling photographer in kayfabe era is Cody is Credit to Wrestling business 👍
Let’s go can’t wait to see what cody does next 🔥🔥🔥
I always love to see Cody in many interviews that he has been going and talk and answer to every question that he had already gotten from every journalist too !! ❤😘😉🙂🥰😍
Excellent interview
I loved his return it was awesome and the theme song is nice
So much for him being the next Triple H in AEW.
This was a great interview.
By the way, The Undertaker is the greatest legend in wrestling history.

cody rhodes wrestlemania re - debut was perfect. Masterpiece!
Like Cody wish him all the best, it's good for the business and talent that people can go back and forth
Really awesome interview!!
Great interview
Great interview. 👍
Cody made history
It's going to be a huge moment when he wins the wwe championship. It needs to happen in the main event of wrestlemania 39. Can't believe we will be taking about wrestlemania 40 soon.
I would say this was a much better kept secrets in recent times. Cody's return was unthinkable and when, a week before WM, Meltzer said the talks had fizzled out I bought it. Even when Seth was in the ring, I was afraid it might not be Cody.
Great interview!!!!
One of the best returns of all time
I’ve been watching AEW since the start and I still don’t understand the hate Cody gets
same
This was a great interview
Ariel is growing into the best interviewer in sports. I love how he grilled Marlins president Samson a few months ago. Brilliant and authentic.
Need more of this…
And now this guy is arguably the top face of WWE. One of the all time great comeback runs.
The Nose is killin’ it💯
I see him carrying WWE now the way Cena did for years.
Honestly now Cody’s back I’m going to start watching raw again
Wrestlers moving to other promotions is a good thing. It keeps things fresh. It’s jarring seeing Cody leaves AEW but it sounds like it was the right decision at this point.
🤘Rock n Roll ! ! ! Cody
Go Heelwani! El Nariz!
Hunter said make a name for yourself...Cody took that to heart
I want to know what Kenny did or said. Cody won't even mention him anymore. Imagine saying there was nobody left to wrestle in AEW with a straight face. Cody is very good at hiding his narcissistic tendencies.
My theory Cody wanted Brandi at the top of the women's division as champ and Kenny shut that down fast💀
I’m ready to root for this guy for the first time ever.
AEW needs to keep the momentum up. They’ve done so much well but WWE is a machine with generations of fans. I truly believe AEW is the better product but no one does that big moment or fight feel like WWE still admittedly
AEW made a mistake in fighting impact too They will loose wrestlers to both wwe and impact mjf kenny omega next
They should do All In 2 and do it in a stadium
@@tavazivakudakwasheclinton AEW actively work *with* Impact...
@@LimJayhey instead of courting and blowing the same old indie fans like Tony is doing, they should roam the market and find more audience, like an Indian audience for example. That's really the only way to compete with WWE.
aew is just like late wcw and tna. Always playing catch-up and pretending it doesn't fixate on wwe like its fans.
Tbh Cody is the reason ima start watching raw again 🤷🏾♂️💯
