I love Robbie Fishing! And I’m an old chook that doesn’t even fish! “He’s off like a bride’s nightie” 😂😂😂😂
Hahahaha thanks you so much for your kind words.
Good to see the cod firing up for you! The twin spin lure looked pretty cool, and I think the fish agreed haha. Good stuff mate.
Thanks buddy. After a slow start it was great to find a few switched on fish.
Great video Robbie...your enthusiasm for fishing is great to see! No worries about the size of the fish just doing it for the love of it.
Awesome video, really lovin the content your providing at the moment! Happy fishing
Hey Brad thank you so much mate.
Absolutely awesome to watch thank you for sharing 👍
Hi mate thank you so much for watching.
May the piece of cod be with you Mr. Robbie.
Great value those tackle club boxes.
Proves the products work well.great session Robbie 👊
Lucky you got your clip back.
Hey buddy thanks so much.
Terrific video Robbie! Wish we'd have been able to pick out that platypus, they are amazing. Good afternoon/evening on the cod too; I love seeing those trout cod too. They are a wish list fish for me, and every chance to see one is great.
Thanks so much Damian. I agree on the platypus mate. Beautiful creatures. Egg laying mamals. Very unique.
great video mate!, good to see the platypus out and about, the cod strikes were magnificent, great stuff mate!!
Thank you so much. Any time that I see a platypus is a great day. Amazing creatures they are.
The colour of those cod is amazing, they are in such good condition, nice to see. Thanks Robbie
Hi Ann-Maree thank you so much for watching.
@@robbiefishing It's going to be a great year for fishing, plenty of water, everything is looking perfect
Such a beautiful fish 👍
Awesome video Robbie. Good to see the cod out and about.
Thanks Dean. After a slow start it was great to hook up to a few mate.
Awesome video Robbie. That first fish was so great to watch.
Thanks James, it certainly came from nowhere.
WOW Robbie - Well worth the effort to get into that part of the river. Big call, only one line clip :-) Inspirational Cod fishing, as always. Think we need to call you the Cod Master. Keep the great videos coming.
Thanks so much Rohan. Haha do the miles get the smiles. Do the miles be careful of snakes. LOL
I just love it when you are talking boxes, it's a new language. Lol 😆.
Hahahaha
Love your work Bob, entertaining as always
Thanks Nick. After a slow start to the season and a terrible time earlier this year it was great to be setting the hooks on a few cod once again.
@@robbiefishing at least this time they stayed connected mate. Love the whole mystery lure box element, pushes you out of your comfort zone. Keep the vids up
Awesome video mate once again love your vids always enjoy them currently sitting in RPA hospital in Sydney watching your vids to kill time before I head in for surgery got my first cod for the season on Saturday on a black a d red oar gee plow
Hey Brayden well done mate that's really good. Good luck with the operation mate.
Love a good Robbie fishing vid after a crap day work

Hey mate thank you so much for your wonderful words.
Great video mate awesome selection of lures Robbie
Thanks Michale. After a really poor season earlier this year, it was great to finally find some exciting Murray cod fishing again.
Wow! That first hook up was amazing! Great stuff mate 👍
Thanks Tommy. They sure are very exciting mate.
I have been looking ever day for this vid mate this made my day I also got 2 nice cod today on a spinner bait
Thanks mate, and well done on your cod buddy.
Such a cracking looking fish hey. Great session brother.
Thanks so much Moose.
Love the video Robbie mate need me one of those buzz spinnerbaits I’m heading out Thursday for my first cod season session. Keep up the good work 👍🏼
Thanks so much mate, and good luck for Thursday.
That brushy area is perfect for spinnerbaits over crank baits... 40# Braided line is great for pulling trees out of rivers.. haha
Love your cod videos robbie 🤙
Thanks so much Koby.
Great session Robbie, the fish sure wanted to play! No joke ....
LOL I was too busy concentrating on fishing and forgot to throw in a joke. haha I have a yabbying video coming out later this week with a few jokes in it, and a shout out to my local Macdonald restaurant that keeps half filling my chips. LOL
What a action packed day! Well done. The other day I walked into the shed and saw a tackle club box, I don’t get tackle club so I was very confused, then I realised it was the tackle club box you put my lures in 😂 😂🤦🏻♂️
Hahahahaha thats funny. 🤣🤣🤣
Great video Robbie, can’t wait to get up there next weekend and have a flick!
Thanks Jack, I hope you catch a few mate.
Good one mate looked a good fun trip 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Cam, I had a blast mate.
G'day Robbie, went out yesterday for my first ever time murray cod fishing and caught 3, 1 trout cod off the surface and 2 murray cod on bait
WOW That's awesome. Well done mate.
Gotta love Tackle World..😘😘😘
Hell yeah Robby
Great little session. There was a snake close by for sure in that grass
I reckon you might be right mate. One good thing about long grass is that you don't see them as often because you can't see the ground. hahaha
Few nice hits there mate
Only just stumbled across your channel, heading to Echuca this week to try and get a mark on the board for Cod. Have no idea how to catch them but your Videos have been very helpful. Subscribed for sure thanks mate 🤟
Hu Shane thanks so much for your kind words mate. Good luck in Echuca.
@@robbiefishing thanks mate, looking forward to more videos 👍
Hey Robbie great video. This has nothing to do with this video but I used the paternoster rig for my cod opening today for the first time And more of my bites hooked up and I cracked a nice 53cm cod on it. Can’t wait to see more cod videos from you keep the great work up
WOW mate that is fantastic, well done buddy.
Nice one Rob 👍
Thanks heaps Mitch.
Awesome video that drunken mullet looks the goods might need to buy one soon
Thanks Charlie. Gee they cast well.
Some very nice cod there! Plenty of action in this one mate aha
Thanks Jed, a bit different to my slow opening day mate.
Good video robbie👍🎣
Thanks heaps Ryan.
Well their you go, The twin spin lure is what you get when a buzz bait and a spinnerbait have a baby, worked well though Robbie :)
Haha you're not wrong Ray. I've never seen one before. It certainly had me wondering. Either way.... it works. LOL
Good sesion there robbie! I am envious of your casting skill. You make it look o so easy!! Espec that underhand flick you do...amazing!! That reel.. does it have magnetic overrun brake or old style adjustable brake shoe/pad type set up? I have an old cheaper mod shimano baitcaster. Magnetic brake. Bout 1 cast in 10 is birdnest no matter how hard i try! I only use it for boat or other drop fishing these days. Too gun shy to cast it no more! Thanks!!
Hey Trever to be honest I am not sure what breaking system the reel uses. I have a back ground of using Shimano Curado reels, and to be honest I find they are easier to cast straight out of the box. This is a Daiwa Tatula. It is a brautiful reel, but I have had to adjust the casting breaks on the side a few times to get it how I want it.
Gee the flies were bad. needed the old pea bo😂😂🍻🍻👍👍
LOL All part of the Territory mate.
A very different session there Robbie, nice n busy 👍
Thanks mate, sure was an improvement on cod opening.
GREAT haul Robbie!
Thanks so much UF.
@@robbiefishing YW!
Great stuff mate. Well done !! I still havnt got my box yet.
Thanks buddy. Hopefully not too far away mate.
Well done Robbie. You just need to take your tackle club boxes from now on lol.
Haha It appears that way. LOL
great video robbie
Thanks heaps Ryan.
Love the video awesome work how do u find baitcaster rods though I have been fishing with spinning rods and might by one
Much faster for flicking lures. And you can stop the cast with your thumb to land the lure right where you want it. They take a bit of practice but once you get the hang of it they're great
Wonderful night. Thank God st Patrick got rid of the snakes in Ireland. If I did go fishing I'd be to nervous to enjoy it. You have nerves of steel.
Thanks Vincent. Haha With gumboots and long pants on the chances of a snakes fang penetrating my skin are very minimal. Despite this I still get a hell of a fright when I see snake. Hahaha
Great video mate 👍 we caught about 15 red fin today they were about 20cm every fish
Thanks Brock, and well done on the redfin mate.
👍👍Another top video Robbie. How about a Murray Cod catch and cook this season.
Thanks mate. I will keep that in mind buddy.
I love the spinnerbait but I did pick up a yellowbelly on a number 1 green stumpjumper Friday night in very shallow weedy water
Thats awesome, well done James.
Love the cod vids I caught two monster bream today
Thanks Sam, and well done on the bream. I have only ever caught a couple of bream and loved it. It was back in the late 1990's.
@@robbiefishing maybe one day in the future I can take you fishing for bream or other big saltwater species hahah you teached me a lot so I want to return the favour
Hey Robbie, great video mate! I'm heading down to Victoria and the murray runs right through my grandparents property and my uncle's catch nice cod regularly. So before I leave I'm hoping to get a heavier baitcaster setup for casting larger lures. Any recommendations on rods and reels and also leader pound ( I know you personally don't use leader but was still wondering if you had any recomendations) and also top 3 lures, one surface, one to just catch a fish, and one for a big metery. Anyway thank you if you read and reply to this! Great stuff Robbie awesome video.

As for the rod and reel, I use a Venom 6kg baitcaster series rod with a Daiwa Tatula reel on it spooled with Daiwa J-braid 50lb. The rest of the rods I know very little about sorry mate, simply because I never hold them, I only really know what I use.
Venom rod: www.wilsonfishing.com/Products/Rods/Venom-Rods/Cork-Baitcasters
Daiwa Tatula: www.trellys.com.au/collections/baitcaster-reel/products/daiwa-tatula-hd-200-baitcaster-fishing-reels?ref=i68jzcdpol2e
Daiwa J-braid line (I use 50lb):
It is hard to order fishing rods through the mail. You may need to pop into your local tackle store and ask them if they deal with Wilson Fishing, if they do they can probably order in a Venom fishing rod. Just a heads up though, they are quite expensive. They're an excellent rod but they're not cheap.
They are great if you take your fishing seriously, but if you are only going a couple of times each year a cheaper alternative might be a Shimano Raider rod.
Hope this helps mate.
@@robbiefishing thanks Robbie 😊, will definately keep an eye out for those lures and I think I might pick the Shimano raider as I'm not really financially prepared to spend 500+ on a eod alone, but also what weight rating should the rod be? I have some heavier lures that go up into the 50+ grams (swimbaits and stuff like that). But I already have my hands on a codman 4x4 in the fluro orange so that's ticked off!
Anyway thanks for the reply Robbie really appreciate it.
Take care
Top vid as always mate. what line clips do you use?
Thanks mate. I use Mustard Fastache.
Great vid mate
Thanks heaps Mitchell.
@@robbiefishing you should see what happens if you put yabby nets it that creek
Cod still def fight harder than carp when on the same gear, but Hellas take the crown in terms of the fish in rivers in vic
great session m8
Thanks heaps John.
Bravo care
Funny you say about the chasebaits mullet not getting hookups I have been told the trebbles arent well suited to cods mouth
Thanks mate. I am not sure about that. Personally I think that it is more the case of me fishing at a time that they havn't been biting well. They would probably be the same hooks as the ones on the Chasebaits smuggler and they certainly work well.
@@robbiefishing yeah I've never bothered changing them but just what I heard! Happy fishing! Let me know when you wanna come down to Gippsland and chase freshwater bass
You should go to
Old mans creek 39 mins out of Wagga I have caught my best cod there
Love the video mate quick question how clear does it have to be for Murray cod to live in the water
Thanks mate. Murray cod can live in very dirty water, even as dirty as a farm dam, as long as there is plenty of oxygen in the water. They can live in dirty water but they can not live in stagnant water.
thanks
Great video Robbie. What kilo rating is the venom rod that you where using
Thanks mate. It is a 6kg baitcaster series mate.
Hey mate, was wondering how you’re finding the switch from the right handed reel to the left handed? Feeling easier? Any pro’s or con’s?
Hey James, it was awkward at first, but now I love it and have no regrets whatsoever.
The season is looking G00D!
I reckon it is too mate.
@@robbiefishing Yup!
where did you get your left handed bait caster??? I can't find them anywhere, I've been looking for over a year.
Hey how long is your leader with you fish for cod ?
Hi Robbie where is this river locate thank mate
That's good I just court a big big ome
WOW That's awesome. Well done Brooke.
Great video as always !! What reel is that ?
Thanks mate. Its a Daiwa Tatula.
@@robbiefishing oh awesome! How do you find it compared to shimanos baitcaster ?
@@issyb7394 I absolutely loving it, although in saying that it is currently away getting serviced because it has become quite clunky. Haha I love the reel, and it does a lot of work in my hands as I fish more than the average person.
@@robbiefishing oh awesome how long have you had it for ?
What line clips do you use Robbie
Hey Patrick, I use Mustard Fastache mate, preferably 100lb.
How much is a "cod box" subscription? It'd be pretty cool getting a fishing pack surprise every month.
Do you not use leader Robbie ?
Hey mate, no I prefer not to use a leader.
Looks more like a buzz bait @ 12.40 onwards @robbiefishing
You fishing in Victoria ?
Good job my Dad Cory a hammerhead sark
WOw I bet that put up a goof fight Kirsty.
Would have loved to see how the frog would have gone.🐸🐸
Thanks mate. I still have it here, I will give it a swim at some stage no doubt.
Hi I just got home from fishing
Awesome. I hope you caught a few mate.
Yea I got 2 27cm cod

@@robbiefishing will do Robbie cheers
Mate what spot are you fishing at, also great video mate
How could you have possibly navigated that barbed wire fence without destroying it or yourself or both ?
I'm almost half your weight and size and can't see myself a hope of getting across without a ladder or something.
Hey Mohammed that bread us tough up here in the country mate.... plus there was a gate just out of the camera. hahahaha
@@robbiefishing bet you had a time trying to push the gate open with the grass as tall as you
Hi.i like your videos. Can you share the location please.
Hey Robbie hear about this wild young bloke that was not looking to happy “what troubling you” asks a passer a bye “worry about my hearing “well your in luck I am a faith healer “ and with that the healer puts his gifted hand over young mans ears and chanted a incantation than flicks away his hands and say”be gone”adding”hows your hearing now?”the young fellows shrugs “How Would I know it’s next Wednesday!!
hahahahahahahahahaha LMAO
So don’t you use leader line on your set up’s
No mate, only on my fly rod.
That's a blind eyed mullet
Hey Robbie just wondering what river are you fishing in on this video
We call that 2nd spinner bait a "Buzz bait"...... And DANG !!! You guys pay alot of $ for things. Spinner baits are usually $3-$7 U.S.D....
Never caught a cod
