    I spent $500 to have a lot surveyed recently. I needed to survey two adjoining lots. I spent $65 for this metal detector. I was skeptical, but this video encouraged me to take a chance. My wife and I used a long tape measure to get me close. The metal detector took over from there. Sure wish I had used this instead of paying a surveyor!

    Thank you Sir. Drive to Tahoe to some off-road trail, and my wife lost a wedding ring by the car. Tried to look through the snow, no luck. Got back to Sacramento, to buy from someone, but looks like everyone is celebrating, and no one s responding. Looks like harbor freight will open faster than they respond! Will try my luck tomorrow!

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  Před 2 lety +2

      Hoping you find the ring - if you cant get this metal detector, they have a 6 function that extremely difficult to use, as an alternative, you can try the propane burner that attaches to a 20 lb tank - you can burn away the snow, although it might make the 'clear' area really big! Hoping it works out for you - thanks for subcribing!

    Very good, sir 👍. My elderly dad just had a new car port installed over gravel driveway and he’s paranoid the workers lost screws during assembly and there gonna end up in dads tires. So I’m considering buying one to help calm his nerves about screws lol. Well it’s a legit worry but he tends to blow things up worse than they really are. But if this puts his mind to ease it’s worth 60 bucks

      I left a reply and youtube would not post it, odd, but I'll post again - I have used this detector to find many lost rings, it should work for you with no issues, in the video I showed how to get a sample material and test how the meter sound when it detects it, do this with another ring about the same size, and be sure the detector can detect it ok, then search your entire yard, digging up anything that is detected, you will be surprised how far from where you think it is to where it actually is, so search a BIG area, at least 25ft in all directions from where you think it is, but I recommned the entire yard, if the ring is not round, redo the setup with a smaller piece of jewelry , made of the same material, and search the yard again, if not found get a sample that is 2x the size of the ring, same material, remove anything in the ground that your detect, by the time you find the ring, you'll probably have a handfull or two of metal objects, if not found, expand your search area, please let me know now the results of your search

    Will this model pick up a 3/4" galvanized metal water line buried about 2' deep in the ground? I have a tree root damage issue about 25' above the meter and I am planning on going around the trees and tie back in about 7' from front of house with pvc...about 90' stretch . I kinda know where the pipes are but would like to be precise without digging up too much yard...

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  Před 3 lety +4

      Its possible, but for this detector to alert on metal, the coil field has to be interrupted by metal, I do not think the coil field will extend 2 feet deep - normally for something like that, a probe is inserted thru the pipe, and a detector is used above ground to detect the location of the probe - most cities use these to find underground pipes

      I did assemble it and demonstrate how to use it, and dug up my yard, but I was unwilling to dig a deeper hole to test depth - It depends on the metal, but I would not expect deeper than 2-3 inches, the coil on the bottom puts off a field, and the metal in the ground has to interrupt that field for the detector to alert - thanks for subscribing!

      while this will probably work to detect nails in trees, its not very practical, there are special metal detectors made for that use that are easier to use, unless the nail was put in the tree last week, its most likely buried deep in the tree, as the tree will have grown around the nail, these metal detectors might be more practical - czcams.com/video/gzj80jpGrAQ/video.html - thanks for subscribing!

    I'm curious it the roof nail was aluminum or galvanized...
    This is the very essence of the discriminator function...
    Put a galvanized an aluminum and a hand cut nail to the detector to find the "tone zone" of each type....
    Repeat this with copper vs nickel...
    Then with gold and silver.....
    each has a tone zone just adjust to identify each one separately !
    Depth may vary the signal strength.

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  Před 2 lety

      with just a tone, it is not possible to easily determine the different between metals - especially for someone with meniere's disease, the 'fancy' metal detectors have a digital readout and use the small differences in readings to determine the metal, this detector works fine and can be used to find metal in the ground, but does have its limitations, and requires a lot of use before you can easily detemine determine the different metals detected - thanks for subscribing!
