My mobile home indoor electric box was smoking it was frying up about to fire up my whole home after centerpoint delivered power to the neighborhood without replacing a down power line that broke in front of my home all the high voltage went straight to my home almost causing to fire my whole home it was a miracle of God that my house didn’t got burned and only the electric box fried up. I did made a claim to centerpoint now I need to wait 7 days for their response because is their fault that don’t make sure the power lines are good and safe before powering the transformers. And until now no one has come to replace that power line my neighbor next to me has power. My prayers go to them 🙏🏻May God help us all to go through this very hard and rough time🙏🏻
This is just absolutely sickening Center Point didn't have the time to come take care of this live wire being down when they have multiple workers. This makes me so mad 😡
So unplug everything when the power is off during a storm, how do we know how long to wait to plug everything back in once power is reconnected? Just curious
@@unodos2007I think it’s a combination of both things old wires and the lines. We lost power twice and it came back on. I went ahead and shut my AC off I didn’t want that to get messed up. We have power surge protectors. They are beautiful people.
You’re correct. Old houses have small undersized wire ( in relation to modern day usage) in their homes. When I was a small boy there was no A/C, no TV, no computers, no electric dryers, no electric kitchen appliances. Nowadays dwellings carry services rated 150-200Amps , old houses often had services of 70 Amps. The feeders were No.# 4 or even #6 which was adequate in the old days when maybe you had a fan & a radio & your lights as the only load. The branch circuits were often #14 size wire & I’ve seen old houses where over the years rodents chewed away all the insulation. A power surge can easily start a fire & in old houses the wood is often so dry from over the years that they will light right up just like kindling. No, it’s too easy to blame Centerpoint without proper investigation
I’m curious how the neighbor knew she had “too much voltage”🤔 The sparking wires is testament that something was missed. If indeed “too much voltage” was present, or something larger was shorted, that could easily surpass the capacity of the wiring in that older home.
Hold on, so the very company that may be responsible for this tragic event will be doing the investigation on those lines? 😳 They haven’t been coined Centerpointless for nothing! Somebody call “The Hammer” for these good people.
City council does not know that there needs a live wire to have electric??? People want trees all around their homes, won't keep them trimmed, city council will not enforce right of way privilege for electric company. Looks like a city council and land owners fault.
Who’s responsible for tree overgrowth power lines. You have to report tree overgrowth and have proof you report it to you el. Power provider. Please everybody reed the contract. If you can read and understand mean of contract.

They only care about trees within 5 feet of the live lines that run at the very top of the pole, not the insulated lower ones that are shown sparking. I called CenterPoint a few years ago when a tree in my backyard grew close to the insulated lines and they came out and told me that it’s the homeowners responsibility for those. But that’s not commonly known and doesn’t make a lot of sense. A tree literally fell on my lower, insulated lines Monday and my tree guys took it down today. Cost $1400. I won’t find out if the lines were damaged until the power is supposed to be back on, because the power had already gone out when the tree fell. I’m worried that the tree damaged those lower lines and we will have to wait weeks since we’d be at the very bottom of the list of priorities.
No one from center point has come to do anything at our house. I only keep receiving texts from center point lights will be back on in several days. Well they need to do the necessary repairs before service is restored.
This is terrible. 😢 Prayers up for them. But I am upset that the cameraman felt the need to get creative and artsy with the interview shot. Why are you shooting through the charred bits of the house. So unnecessary.
