This is pretty much how I clean/detail my ski. I'll take the top cap off to get better access to the engine bay when I want to give it a good cleaning. I also use a wet/dry vac to get any pooling water that didn't drain out of the engine bay.
This is probably the stupidest question you’ve gotten but all the videos I see say use the salt product but I use my skis in fresh water should I still use it ?

The video is under 5 minutes not the actual cleaning.
Don't forget to hit the metal parts of the pump with the CRC. Even in fresh water, I get oxidation within hours out of the water.
