#Honda #Navi #Reveal - Auta a dopravní prostředky
At $1,800, Honda is going to sell a TON of these. These are perfect for new younger riders or simply a “toy” to ride around on. Very impressive for the price..
Dealers will mark them up like they have been doing with the rest of the bikes.
it's the same strategy they used back in the ronald reagan days VS. Harley Davidson. Honda marketed themselves as affordable, easy to use bikes for your family, while davidson marketed their expensive machines to the archetypal "bad boy rebel", excluding everyone else. Guess who's struggling to sell bikes to the new generation?
Not so much for perfect beginning, let just say after to jump to a 400cc motorcycle, they won't know how to use the clutch or gears work, and thats more critical
@@nicholasmcdougald3737 that’s a fair point. Learning to use the clutch and changing gears is important to progress skills as a rider. Another angle is getting people into the hobby of riding at $1,800 and growing the rider base is important as well.
Fun fact, Navi was launched in India in 2015 at a price of about 530$. Honda had high hopes, but it was a complete flop. Indians weren't used to the monkey style bikes, and this was laughed at. This was finally discontinued in 2020 with about 100 sales in the entire year.
Looks up Honda Navi, gets an ad for a Ducati Multistrada V4S. At least CZcams hasn't figured out how poor I am 😂
Honda saw the gas prices in the US and thought what better time to release this vehicle 🤔💡. Excellent tutorial 👌.
Honestly, this could be a surprisingly good move. A seedling for a new type of customer. The ones who has written off the manual transmission as their barrier to entry, while scooters are too geeky to start on. Then Honda already has all the additional stepping stones in place with DCT offerings anywhere from 50hp to over 100hp if the buyer decides they want a full size bike. They could get a solid corner of the market if they play this right.
It might sound stupid, but I personally know many people who said they'd love to ride but won't even attempt because they are convinced that a manual is too difficult.
*raises hand*
I had a hellish time dealing with the clutch and gears of shifter motorcycles during my motorcycle course. Ever since, I have happily stuck to twist-and-go scooters. My BV 350 does everything a light motorcycle like the TU250 or Meteor 350 can do, without having to worry about the transmission stalling out whenever I hit stop and go traffic on my commute.
Not only is it automatic, it's frikkin cheap!
Manual Trans motorcycles are super easy to drive. I learned the basics on youtube. I bought a Grom for on the road experience.
@@ronmendoza1274 I personally agree, but at the same time I know plenty of people, especially younger women, that want to ride but don't have the confidence. Some struggle just with learning the balance of a bike so to focus on a clutch at the same time is too much and they end up deciding it's not for them. While I personally love the engagement you get from a manual, I understand why they aren't for everyone.
This bike was launched in India 7 years ago. It was a completely flop show from Honda. It is the ugliest thing I have ever saw on the road.
Reminds me a lot of the Cushman Eagle I rode in High School in the early 60's. It was a motorcycle style, you had to swing your leg over the seat, but the wheels were the same as the Cushman scooters. The Eagle had a 2 speed transmission with a tank shifter and an automatic clutch. I had a lot of fun on that bike and it led to over 50 years and 300,00 miles on bikes.
What a steal at 1800. I got it! I'll tell my wife it's for her.
That's $1000 more than it is overseas. Feels like we are getting ripped off.
@@SWTrailsAndWheels Dealers are asking $5K for 8whp Groms, now that's a ripoff. $1999 used to buy a 25whp Ninja 250.
It’s almost double out the door.
This is amazing, might start the trend for really inexpensive bikes which would be great to see, especially because as a Honda it will reliable (as seen overseas)
I'm already on the order list at my local Honda Motorcycle Dealer for a Navi.
Same. 😂
Just did mine today. I put in my $500 deposit 😂
I didn't put any money on my Navi yet. I will soon.
With many states still saying under 50cc you don’t need a motorcycle license or insurance i find it hard to have those rules for bikes that are just as powerful as the older 49cc 2 stroke scooters. Seems like the law should be adjusted to include these 110cc 4 strokes or 49cc 2 strokes. There’s a reason motorcross classes have 125cc 2 strokes and 250cc 4 strokes in the same class.
Might very state by state
just wanted to say, I'm from sri Lanka, and these and there is another scooter with a pass through in the middle called a Dio (basically the same, same engine, same brakes a little more storage under the seat etc.etc) , are insanely popular, not a lot of power, insanely fun to ride through some Twisties, so long as the uphills aren't too steep, momentum is key 😂, top's out at about 80/85 kmph, it'll do a 100 downhill 😂😂, pick-up from a standstill is pretty good too, so long as you twist the shit out of the throttle 😂, and insanely reliable, I've done around 85000 km's of very very abusive riding on it, (may not be a whole lot by us standards, but that on some insanely shitty ass roads, yeah it's been through a lot 😂😂) but regular oil changes every 3000km's , and still runs like a dream, 10/10 best commuter bike I've ever had 👌❤️
these are MASSIVE in latin america, they got a very good reputation as being quality little scoots (it's honda after all), they just go and go and go as long as you take good care of them and use them for what they are (city commuter). As a latino, I'm personally very excited that you guys in the USA are getting it, cause if it gets big in USA, that means more cool accesories and the possibility of upgrades like disc brakes, digital instruments (I'd kill to have one like the grom's in my navi) and perhaps even more CCs in future models. Also, you can't beat filling your tank for the week with $3 lmao
'22 Grom gets 150 mpg and the tank is almost twice as big ... I saw 165 mpg when I was being gentle. But I sold it.
You think this bike would still work for people around 6 foot ?
Thank God it's 109.2 cc, and not just 109cc. That .2cc should make all the difference!
I'm just happy it's not 110cc.. that would surely be to much.
@@pauliewalnuts240 That would make it dangerously powerful.
🤣🤣
As much as I am happy to see affordable new bikes, I'd still go through the headache that my 1969 Honda cl175 was and I picked it up in "running" good condition for 1100$. Taught me so much about bikes and maintenance.
Great video. Great job ! Thanks ! 😊
Fab and very informative, regards from India.
I own a 2016 Dec Navi (Orange). Never had an issue and use it as a daily over 50 kms to and fro through all season - rain, summer & winter !
I love all the mini bikes, despite being 6'5 myself lol I've been having a really hard time to find a Trail 125 on any dealer, hope we can get more next year
Best of luck finding one. I bought a Grom early this year. Already put 9,200 miles on it. It's a work horse. I would love to try the trail for its dual sport styling though.
how much can i tow with it? does it come with a locker on the rear dif?
Thanks for sharing subscribed
❤️❤️ great vid
Have to have one to line up next to my trail.
Might grab one just to commute to the store and back during the summer
I own one white one. Really nice to get around town. The shocks could be better. NO clutch and changing gears. Really nice.
I’m in. Great scoot to put in truck bed while RVing. Could be great go to market or light adventure rider while rig is parked.
At 49cc, no driver's license is necessary for the ruckus. Check local laws but 50cc is usually the cut-off. That's why DUI offenders love them.
You still need a driver's license, just no motorcycle license
@@twinboydad1980 Check local ordinances, but in Indiana, you don't need ANY, license to operate a scooter under 50cc's. Pretty cool.
You are lucky, in NY I have to have license , insurance and registration, most states require this too
@@twinboydad1980 You do need to register and plate them here. I think insurance is optional, not sure. But I am sure about not needing a driver's license.
I've always called them dewy scooters for that reason. D.U.I. scooter just doesn't roll off the tongue as nicely. 😆
As someone who’s doing their motorcycle driver safety course next month and hoping to get an affordable starter bike, this is amazing news to hear, I’m also not very tall so that’s nice too lol
Stick with a bike with clutch, once you learn you'll be able to ride ANY BIKE.. otherwise you'll end up only riding scooters. This is classed as a Scooter and in Au you can get scooter only license which is easier to get but you are not legally allowed to ride normal clutch bikes. So yeah, learn on a normal bike then get this once you have it.
What is the top rated speed of the Navi? I am 6 foot 215 lbs. Any idea the max speed in flat country like Central Florida?
Looks a fun commuter bike.
Curious what the load capacity will be as a big guy. Seems like a cheap fun bike for around town, camping trips and to train family members on how to ride.
I got one in mexico, capacity, according to official site is 153kg (about 330lbs). I myself weight 103kg and is a blast to ride in the city. If you're tall you just look goofy haha, but who gives a F when you're having so much fun zipping around traffic and tight spaces
I had one in 2015,its fun little bike, price was just $550, now its discontinued due to poor sales. In 2016 it discontinued here, that time price goes down to $270,it is not a speed monster but it will reach 50 MPH.
Good video overall, but you forgot about the ADV150 when mentioning the scooter lineup! And the ADV150 has great room for a passenger.
Just saying.
I can for sure see Honda selling heaps of these though!
The ADV150 is awesome but way too expensive IMO. They should do an NAVI-ADV with that pseudo-adventure bike styling, and that would be good seller as well.
@@dp4auburn agreed on both! Went to the dealership in Springfield MO to buy one. Was a bit hesitant because of the price, but was ready to write the check. Sat there for nearly an hour waiting to be waited on. Kept getting either flat out ignored, or told 3 different times "we'll get someone to help you". After an hour the wife and I walked out and after a week had past I started to realize we were better off skipping it cause we bought a used low mileage mint condition Burgman 400 for about half the price! As to something like a Navi-ADV or Navi-X or whatever, that would be kinda neat too! At least the Maxxis knobby tired from a Grom look like they would fit on the Navi. I bet someone out there builds one themselves after they been out a while.
Hey! Listen!
Good job Alex.
All those grom copies are gonna take a big hit.
And what does the left hand lever do? If the back brake is in the right foot.
In Oregon out the cost with license plate and registration and Honda Shipping is $2,500
Thank you
1800 is good but here in Florida the extra charges will double that price. The Grom at 3300 is 5400 out the door.
I have one , it is very fun to ride specially if you are a begineer, it is designed for city
Is the engine same with 2010 Honda Beat/icon?
Nothing wrong with a Carburetor! Seriously if you can turn a few screws and swap some brass you can get the fueling perfect. I ride carb'd and FI bikes and FI bikes are great when you ride in big temp or elevation swings but lets face it this thing will be an in town bike. Better to keep it carb'd for simplicity and keeping costs down.
Maybe for simplicity and saving money but at the cost of reliability.
Honda did good on this one. Mite get one just to have it.
We in india had this bike long ago about 5 years. The best part it was priced at barely 500 dollar 💵
I like what Honda is doing with these small bikes. I really want one but I need to finance my busa 1st...lol
Nice a Honda Beat with sport bike shape.👍
I'm totally getting one of these after hearing that price point. Hope it gets a following cause it will be my modded mini for group rides.
Right? It's a cheap mini bike I wouldn't mind buying at like half the price of a grom.
It’s automatic trans
AT transmission is perfect for mini moto rides. Especially large ones, can focus more on my surroundings and not shifting.
Dealers are going to do everything in their power to double the price. Wait and see. I bet you won't be able to get one for any less than $2900, and they will call that a "deal".
It's a CVT, and it doesn't have simulated gears to ruin the only upside of a cvt. I could see it being really good for around town. I wouldn't trade my Grom for one, but I wouldn't turn my nose up at it.
You'll be singing "Take a ride on my Navi, I'll take you home. I'll climb up to your window, and read you a poem." But we know it was the Navi that fell from heaven. Yep, I'm an idiot, but Tony's picture at least gets it.
Good video. 🛵👍
Nice beginner bike...good one Honda and for $1800 👌 I think I'd miss the clutch for sure tho. Good review TFLbike
I have been riding motorcycles for over 60 years and don't miss the clutch at all on my two scooters. Just give it the gas and go. Still ride my motorcycle with a clutch but prefer the CVT.
Nice that video is in downtown Long Beach
So that lockable pod added $1000 to the price Vs India? And why carbs? Even the CRF110F is fuel injected.
just for you know, here in latam they sell like hot bread, they launched here last year and most of the time they have been sold out, so watch out
I too am gonna get one, just for the price
If I was to buy one, it would be that brown one. I’m not a loud color guy. Nor green.
I have a question, Why does it have two levers on the handlebars and also a rear brake pedal on the side? I have never seen that before.
I had the same question, why does it have a lever on the left side of the handle bar if it's an automatic transmission??
@@tjdimmock4005 I found out it is a parking brake because you can't park it in gear because of the CVT.
Simple. Thanks Honda. Good looking bike
I'm still waiting for the Trail Cub 125cc in Canada!
Big bore it to 125cc? Top speed? This would be fantastic for some friends I know.
The storage compartment looks like a good place to hide the Nitrous bottle
Why not use the fuel injected engine from the one year in the USA only 2010 Elite 110? This and no front disc make it less desirable to me.
My questions would be: Any options like a rack? Does it come with the lockable box? Or is that extra? Top speed? How's it work for someone at 6 foot and 220?
hi, yes on the rack option, the box is an accesory at least in latin america, top speed 51 mph. I am 6” 1” 225 lbs and it moves pretty good, for sure a city bike to move around. gas mileage is about 65 miles per tank and it fills with less than a gallon.
I wonder what Honda values the EFI on their bikes. I find it a little weird the bike is carbureted.
A little weird............and a little disappointing.
The efi crf110 is like 2k
Honda Navi did not get good response in india, however it may be different scenario in USA. It can be used as training bike
What jacket is that? AS Mission?
I just moved to Panama with my wife, and we just bought 2 of these. Fun little bikes. Do you have any info on upgrades, for instance the rear shock? I am a big guy, and our road sucks. I could use a better shock and a sidestand. Thanks.
Honda sells an accesory pack, which includes crash bars, visor, kickstand, headlight protector, among other little things, go ask your honda dealership in Panama, I'm sure they have them.
@@Tirfing88 Gracias!
Check what people recommend for Groms. Looks like same rear shocks to me.
Step throughs make more sense at this power level.
Reminds me of the Honda motocompo.
I heard they were discontinued. I’ve been trying to find one
The rider In the promotion video is dressed in black/grey gear; Helmet, boots and jackets. Can someone tell what brand they are?
Pretty sure the grab handle is for the center stand
Where can i buy one?
Top Speed? And weight capacity
I want one bad, but I'm guessing they'll be sold out for five years straight. Not due to low production, I just expect them to be extremely popular.
I wanna wheelie it!
I’m all for small bikes which are good to learn on. But without a clutch and shifter, you are not learning much. Honda GROM for the win.
But the grom is twice the price
They need to bring the Honda CB125R over here to the states as well
Good for doing wheelies
Would of been fire if they made it look like a hybrid
Cruiser/crouch rocket
Please review the Royal Infield Himalayan
What's the top speed on this?
I'd rather see a 150cc Grom
They need to make an air cooled 250 street legal bike for ca that is affordable
Honda should have hit us with a slightly larger 20hp 200cc Grom. As you allude to, the problem is Honda's pricing on the low end, it's outrageous.
Replace the lockable storage to another gas tank. Even a gas container.
I'd love to see Honda do an electric, version a Nav-E maybe 🤔
Do you think someone 5ft tall could ride this bike with no problem? What kind of license will you need to ride it in Michigan
My fiance is 5'1 and can ride the Kawasaki z125 pro which is similar but taller. You can definitely ride one of these.
How do you wheelie this?
Just rip the handle bars up with gas?
You sell it and get a Grom
About the drive license ?
If it was EFI it would be better, at that price it easy to forget about it.
Perfect city bike, low cost, automatic, light.
If you stay in the city go for it, if you want to explore or more performance get a Grom.
The Navi will sell like hot cakes that's for sure.
I heard the fuel economy is not good on these the supercub has more cc and way more mpg
You need min 150cc to keep up with the flow of traffic. 250cc is ideal
My Ruckus and Grom are going to hate me when they see me get a Navi. 😝😝😝😝😝
Yesterday: scooters are so lame
Today: hello Navi
Navi was discontinued in India due to low sales, new requirements for ABS and emissions (BS6). What? India has stronger emissions standards than the US? Sales figures. I had a hard time finding figures but it sold 50ku in the first year but in all of 2020 only 120 units were sold. Same trend here in US; strong sales for 12-18 months then they'll sink?
I think it's actually a cool looking bike, but lack of ABS/CBS and fuel injection is a barrier. How many of these are going to end up in the shop for a carb rebuilt after winter storage?
Sold
Only around $800 here in India
Mexico, around $1,300.
Now i just read Honda discontinued them... so what's the deal?
I'm 5" 1', could I ride this bikec?
If it had a gear shifter, I would buy 2
Sri lanka got this bike 5 years ago i olso ride honda navi
I wanna see someone swap in a fully built 2stroke scoot engine
All in for mini moto, too bad i'm 6'4".
I'm 6' 2" 235 lbs. Have 2 groms & a Z125.Best fun I've had in years. I've ridden pretty much every venue of motorcycles.Don't let your size stop you from enjoying a unique niche of motorsports!
1800$? Will be 5000 dollars after dealers are done with you.
perfect for my girl this is great
So, basically it's a Ruckus with a Grom frame? Nice 👍
Grom frame is fairly open with no bottom support which is a pain to Jack up this has standard motorcycle frame
@@ItalianMetalHED I never knew that, it's no wonder I see so many crash cages on Honda Groms. I personally was going to buy a Ruckus, or a Grom to cruise around on, but I chose a Benelli TNT 135 instead, since it's a 5-speed. I have a vid on my channel, decent bike.
@@jdmbeats I got grom for the aftermarket selection and the huge following. I love Honda and it’s all I’ve driven lol
