I was fortunate enough to play with him in college. I didn't make it to the NFL level. but even when he was a sophomore at OU we all knew he was going to be a future hall-of-famer. He is one of the few players that truly could have went pro straight out of high school.

We haven't seen another like him yet, his power, speed, change of direction, lateraly without losing speed, acceleration in and out of cuts. His vision in space where he could split defenders and had this knack getting to and past the second level.

He’s the best I’ve ever seen. Brown and OJ were before my time but I’ve seen all the 80s and 90s backs and none are as good as AP. Dudes ability to get to top speed was wild and if he didn’t run by you he had no problems running over you or jumping over you. Truly the best I’ve ever witnessed

@@zachphillips7997That receiving line is just regurgitated. He hasn't had a consistent QB his entire career other than a 40 year old Favre. When Favre was there he caught almost 80 balls for almost 800 yards in 2 seasons. He can catch....he had nobody that could throw

On November 20. 1977, I watched Walter Payton (the greatest) run for 275 yards against the Vikings. The Bears destroyed the Vikings 10-7. Yup, 10 points. The ran the ball like 65 times and threw 5 times. Walter was the best. RIP Sweetness.
