    Whats the least thickness to hold a 85 kg person?

    • @xsurg
      @xsurg Před 3 lety

      1.5

    • @krillev
      @krillev  Před 3 lety +1

      A rough estimate is that the ice thickness in centimeters squared times five gives the weight in kg that the ice can hold. That formula would give 4.1 cm for 85 kg person. On really good ice however down to 3-3.5 cm would just hold.

    You can also get an idea of thickness by sound! Thin ice will sound like a high pitched crack when hit, thick ice will be a low thud. But of course, always actually measure 🤌
