My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, this happens more than most people know, the parks should rent out ,location devices and make it mandatory ,or don't let them into the park's, all of the parks she do this ,it would save lives ,I can understand if people don't watch to have big brother knowing where they are at all times ,from having a location device, people never think it will happen to them, or someone they know ,in reality it is happening all to often..prayers for the families of the missing 🙏🏻

... as an experienced hiker I don't go into the bush unless I'm prepared,,, hard to call someone experienced when they don't respect the environment they're walking into, and yes it's a lack of respect that sends someone hiking by themselves into rugged terrain without a backpack in case of emergencies.. I live in the Pacific Northwest and I know my mountains and valleys very well and I still will not leave my truck without water warmer clothes food and a machete, because I respect these mountains!

Does anybody else try to envision what rusty looks like? I try, but my vision is probably way off. He seems to me like one of those people who surprise you when you see what he really looks like. Maybe a lot of these people get out there, do some kind of powerful psychedelic, and truly get to "the other side". This dude definitely looked like someone who might partake of some dmt or something. It's just crazy how so many folks just seem to vanish into thin air and often are never found; not even a trace. After researching this phenomenon in depth, I have to believe there is more to many of these cases than simply getting lost. Your mind truly starts to run wild with the strange possibilities of what the explanation could be. You have to be careful not to dive all the way into that rabbit hole. Just rappel down in there enough to get a good look and be sure you can get back out.

I remember this case really well as I was working in yellowstone at the time. I always had my theories about what happened to Cian. I tend to revisit this case often as I always felt a bit more connected to it more than most. I'm always hoping for a new piece of evidence.
Wild life aside, the trail to delta lake can be incredibly tricky as it requires some boulder hopping through large boulder fields. There's a term I learned about doing research about hiking the Grand Teton and Middle Teton, called glacier hydrology. Essentially when ice melts, it melts from the top down and creates a system of running water underneath the ice. Some of the crevices underneath the icy shelves are just big enough for a body to fit into. Cian went missing pretty early into the summer season when the ice melt would have been very heavy. Cian could have easily slipped while boulder hopping and fallen into one of these crevices. He would have been swept away instantly. While hiking the trail up to middle teton I made notice of how fast the water was flowing and how inescapable it would have been if you were swept under.
As any experienced hiker could tell you, Cian was not prepared for this hike, day hike or not.
It's always been a fear of mine to go missing during a hike. Against the better judgement of family, friends, and even myself, I am a solo hiker. There's some I just find humbling and incredibly spiritual about the experience. I allow myself to enjoy the vast full and emptiness of it. That said, I always tell everyone I can where I'm going, what trails I'll be on, what time they should expect me back, and I'm always over prepared.
My heart goes out to his family and I wish for closure for them one day.

A serial killer usually leaves clues, there would be signs of a struggle. The hiker was a full grown man, harder for a person to kidnap and carry him away or dispose of a body. This is probably a missing 411 case.

I know they don't do our Thanksgiving in Ireland but I can bet the day they find him will be THEIR Thanksgiving. God bless.🍀 Ireland is the country I have most wanted to see.

Someone with depression/ ideation of s**cide will often retreat , hide, withdraw.
Some people can't bring themselves to do it--
so they wander off into the woods , hoping that exposure or animals will end them.
Sorry if that fact bothers you...but it is fact .
The family will never admit this fact.

    This is just too weird......
My heart goes out to families who have lost loved ones .......
But every where I look on line these days too many people are missing and found dead......
People are being told NOT TO HIKE ALONE yet they keep on hiking ALONE !!!
I love the great outdoors as much as any outdoors person but I will always practice safety ......
Are the missing hikers for real or is this another corrupt gov ploy to scare people out of certain areas...?
Because if they are finding dead bodies everywhere in these National Parks then where is the serious investigations that SHOULD BE HAPPENING ???
THERE IS TOO MANY THINGS THAT ARE NOT ADDING UP !!!

I really feel that people are unaware of how vast and challenging these American wilderness areas truly are. There is nothing out there for help if you get into trouble. Nature is very unforgiving. Those portable emergency beacons seem like a great idea. I think serial killers and supernatural beings are a very distant second.

,,, and to answer the other fellow I have seen so many mystery cases about the mountains where I live but there ain't nothing mysterious about any of them,, we got Eagles around here that carry away dogs people crying that Sasquatch took their three-year-old when they let it run onto the beach by themselves are morons who don't respect the Wilderness,,
