I feel like this is a result of betting on league becoming more prominent. Probably just look into the sports book and see the biggest winners over the last while betting against T1. Can we just think about the fact that Faker, who played for 11 years of his career and never made any cheap excuses nor blamed others for his lost, just suddenly said something. He's not petty, never. So, this means that it really affected him and the team. The last time he spoke so openly was about the state of Soloqueue and trolls, but there yall praised him and agreed with him. But this time yall just say it's all excuses?? He's not the type of person to lie about something so serious, and seeing him frustrated meant something. Hoping LCK and RIOT really do something about these things. It's messing up the game and specially the integrity of e-sports.

Imagine if this not only costs them any real chance at playoffs but also costs them playing MSI. The authorities are probably working on it but the attack is most likely international from places like China.
Riot Korea is trying but everything gets blocked by Riot Global (LPL/Tencent), it’s not a coincidence the DDoS attacks only started a month after worlds and the team most being affected is T1.
Unless the US government goes full FBI mode for this as an act of cyber terrorism, it is nearly impossible to stop the attacks.

What T1 should do is threaten to boycott LCK Summer if Riot continues to jerk off and do nothing. If they can't compete on even grounds, then competing at all is pointless. Last year has proven that the LCK is financially worthless without T1 revenue, and there is no way Riot can sue or ban Faker unless they want to create the biggest PR nightmare in esports history.

In any professional event, real sports or eSports, if a team had to go 2 full weeks without any practice and then get thrown into a playoff series they would get steamrolled. What I dont like about this entire situation, is the initial tweet, that does not give the full context, in which the answer was given during this press conference. They got asked about the continuously practice problems and gave the answer to this specific question. Not as an entire explanation for the performance. But now bc of this, we have two types of people, who will either use it as an excuse or will say, that it is an excuse, while the main problem is still unresolved...tldr T1 has a terrible practice situation, but does not say this is the main reason for their underperformance.

I think the only reason why they called the best team is not because they're are good, but they seek for them to improve. that's why the best teams in the world is at the top because even if they won championships they have the mentality to seek improvement. Yes you can get IP Address via the league client, that is how they are tracking.
It doesn't where they are playing, within minutes of them logging on they are getting DDOS because of an exploit within the Client.

I mean not playing solo q for over 2 weeks as a pro player is an issue in and of itself but for people who say that these are excuses well.... this same T1 lineup has been top 2 in every tournament they've participated in for the last 3 years and are just coming off a world championship win when they were in peak form.... for the players to spike that hard and have now been reduced to this level of play so quickly kind of shows just how bad the DDOS attacks actually are. This team has been steadily getting worse week after week and even today losing 0-3... not a single player on the team played well, they were awful across the board.... if this was your typical slumping it'd just be one or two players falling off... the lack of practise is seriously showing.
imagine this would happen to G2 and see how people react to this instead. HLE did awesome but T1 being unable to do any practise really hurt their ability to solve any problems in game.
They don't care about DDoS attacks because it doesn't affect their teams. People forgot that DK vs DRX became a 5-hour series because of the attacks. FOX vs. T1 got DDoSed, which leads to LCK to play on LAN/ pre-recorded games.
I hope Riot can fix these issues.

Faker NEVER makes excuses and has very rarely complained about issues that can be solved behind closed doors. Just so you can grasp the situation here, the DDOS attacks extend to not only T1's LOL team, but their Valorant team as well. NONE OF THEIR TEAMS CAN PLAY SCRIMS PROPERLY. Its just fucking crazy to me how Riot hasn't seemed to intervene yet. PC bang is a public spot which can be used by many people. Why is this a problem? Once their location is released, the PC bang is now a target, either filled with fans or even unstable mental league of legends players at 2am that will act what they say in chat. Basically, it is a security risk to them and everyone else around them.
The riot accounts can be used to play, for a while at least before they find out who is playing on those accounts. Every T1 member streams, if they can't stream and or play on their main accounts, they will use a different account. They will easily tell who is who.

i think the ddos stuff is way worse then people give it credit to. if its really true that T1 (or any other team) cant practise at all then there cant be a true competition. There is no athlete in the world who can win the olympics if he didnt train for like a month before. I think the right way to handle that, especially to protect the players would be to concede the spring playoffs entirely. Im not sure if this is possible due to contracts so, but it would be the correct thing to do to honor the players and the competition.

I hear you, but I'm not excited that other teams are beating T1 when they havent been able to properly practice in over 15+ days as an organization. The fact that you would even consider that that should bring happiness is baffling. I'm always excited to see GenG vs T1, but this is bs and trying to paint any picture other than so is insane.

Let's dive a bit deeper into DDoS: as long as you're establishing connections with the server *publicly* you're vulnerable to this attack no matter what. So what's the solution? Playing offline with primitive hardware connection provided by the provider of the server themselves, Riot. But will Riot give a team in a middle of a competition the privilege to have access to custom hardware? Absolutely NO, as stated in the Fair Play terms. And even if they did, the other teams have to go to T1 base camp to scrim. So the only option T1 has is to play with their academy team.
But I do agree to the fact that T1 could have handled this better by mentioning about their situation earlier instead of post game. Could have been the other way around

@suekiei It's mostly the players that mentioned about it instead of an official announcement from the org. I do understand that the team really suffered from this to the point that Faker had to speak about it in the interview (knowing his personality, you can say that this really is a big deal), but regardless the team that just won will get the discredit that they shouldn't earn.
Players are not in fault here as they've spoken their parts, but it's the decision of the higher ups which I don't understand

The pressure is on them also imagine being the same team for 3 years, winning worlds last year, having the greatest player of all time in your team, and being the best franchise team in history of league of legends. I don't think Nemesis would ever go to KC, just because of his stated priorities. He's talked a lot about how much he values the autonomy of not needing to keep up with all the demands of being a player on a team, and that he'd need to see a real possibility of winning a major tournament with a given roster and staff before agreeing to give up what he has. So unless his streaming career is somehow threatened, or he is otherwise a huge fan of any part of that potential roster or any staff, idk?

My issue with the T1 situation is not T1 themselves but the fanboys who no matter who they lose to, blame the entire loss on one particular issue. It can never be, "T1 played bad oh well gg, but this was also happening which didn't help." It's always, "This is the sole reason T1 lost, they would never lose if it weren't for that". Happened with G2 in 2019 at Worlds and MSI, happened with RNG at MSI, happened with DRX at worlds, G2 at the redbull event, happening now. I know T1 is a good team and what's happening right now is hindering their ability to play well, but people can't just keep making excuses every time they lose and blame it solely on that, sometimes the other team is just better on the day.
