Id be super happy if we went back to the old style of League tournaments from back when we had regular IEM's and IGN's and OGN's or whatever they were called. Imagine we could get like IEM's twice or so a year and maybe some Saudi tourney aswell then shorten the regional leagues down to maybe half the time.

Saudis are investing heavily into esports, with the esport bubble slowly collapsing this is a sport saver and could eventually lead esports widening to more Asian countries.
Only reason they're investing is because they have oil money. I don't think other countries will do the same.
@@elygold5219I wouldn't be so sure, the goal of this investing is to put their foot in the esports market and to make it profitable. If the Saudis new esports investing can turn around the profitability at all then you can bet other countries will follow. Plus ad time/viewer attention is only getting more and more valuable as time passes, so as long as they can grow the audience they will be fine. Obviously not the greatest analogy but even in pro sports the same is true, when leagues were first formed they were not blowing up with investors but grew over time.

Combat sports were almost non-existant in Asia before One Championship, it took 1 man to change that, now One Championship is competing with the UFC in viewership numbers. That is a quite recent development. The only reason why Saudis and the whole rich part of Middle-East is going into esports is because oil money won't last them forever. Either the World moves on from Diesel or they will be out of reserves, those are the 2 inevitable outcomes.
Esports will be the future of sports, it will eventually overtake almost all if not completely all real life sports. Be it on PCs, in VR or AR but esports is the inevitable future, it's best to get in on the ground floor.
Things change slowly, across multiple lifetimes, obviously you won't see huge changes right away. Roman Empire lasted for 2000 years and it took humanity 66 years from the invention of the airplane to sending a man on the moon/a probe on Venus.

APA was kind of cringe all year but super ramped up at the end and TL is a legit good team like everybody was saying about their scrims. i was afraid impact and core would be bothered by APA's trash talk but they backed him up and they look like a close team. good to see them all trash talk FLY together because FLY did take it pretty far.
