Great video 👌 weve just purchased the xl with the side awning part and cant wait 😁 your video made me spend my money lol 😂
Haha, well i’m glad I could help 😂😂
Did you manage to use my discount code okay?
Oh my, my head is spinning with excitement and decisions to make.
I had to get rid of my camper conversion and miss it so much, I was starting to look at getting a folding camper but wouldn’t be doing the nc500
With that in the back.
And now I discover the lite XL just what I need.
Thanks for a great review .
Hey! Thank you. I genuinely love mine. Nice and roomy and just really cool. We had a great trip around Europe in it a few weeks ago. Definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made. You'll love it !!
Great review man
Thanks mate. Much appreciated 🙏🏻
smashing review 5*
Very detailed review. Thank you. I've purchased an XL and It's due here on Monday! 🙌⛺️🚘
Ooo yay!! Where you off to on your first adventure? 😊
@@ChocChipTravels We are off to Anglesey, North Wales near Llanddwyn Island. Just hope the weather will be kind for us. 🤞
@@Gwynwills84 Fingers crossed. Have an amazing time!!
@@ChocChipTravels Thank you 👍
We went with the ikamper 3.0 in the end......pricey , but a fantastic piece of kit
Thank you! Excellent review and has helped us make a make a choice between the 2.0 and the XL. Only 2 of us at the moment but plan to start a family soon so it will be the XL for us! Only thing I need to check is that we can still open the boot of the car with the XL😅
Thanks again!
Haha yeah that wouldn't be good. What car do you have?
@ChocChipTravels Vauxhall Astra at the moment. Suspect we would need something bigger when we start a family but suits us at the moment. Tentbox support confirmed both models would fit in terms of weight limit. It's more the practicality of being able to access the boot storage but could get to it from the passenger doors if we have the seats flat.
I'll get the roof bars on and get the tape measure out. It might be the boot can only open part of the way which would be fine.
Thanks again!
@@charlieself Ah if Tentbox have confirm that then great.
If you’re planning (long term) on changing the car then for now you could always put the tent slightly forward (worst case) to free up the boot while it’s on the Vauxhall. That would be fine for now until you change the vehicle 👍🏻
Can they be fitted so the ladder goes to the rear of the vehicle, or over the side only? Great video
Thank you 😊 Yes you can go off the back. i’ve seen this done quite a lot 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing this, been waiting to see this before committing to the purchase. The "long version" is no longer available though?
Yeah the longer version was having trouble encoding for some reason so it’s literally uploading again now
@@ChocChipTravels brilliant Chris, thanks. Again, thanks for taking the time to share the videos. We were going to go down the campervan route but this (for various reasons), is more appealing just now. 2 kids, wife and dog - can't wait to get the order placed.
@@stussyman8 No problem 👍🏻 Yeah you’ll all fit in the XL nicely. You’ll just need to master lifting the dog into the tent but it’ll be lovely and cosy with you all in there. I’m excited for you 😂
@@ChocChipTravels Genuine question Chris; what's needed to dry the tent out? Living in Scotland and planning to use the tent in all weather conditions, a concern I have is folding everything away when it's wet. If it's wet for a few days afterwards and unable to open the tent to air and dry out, what do you do? Any experience in such conditions?
@@stussyman8 Yes. Ultimately it just needs a good air out at the earliest opportunity. I've had mine packed away for 3 or 4 days before and when I've finally opened it up and aired it out it's been fine.
There's not a huge amount you can do in those situations. It is what it is, but for me i've never had a problem with mould or anything like that, just because i've given it a good air out on the next dry day we've had
Awesome video. Would the XL fit on a mini countryman? Also can you still alarm the car with the tentbox on the roof? Or would movement set off tje alarm?
Thank you 🙏🏻 I have seen Lite’s put on minis before, but just double check the roof load limit on the mini to be sure it will take the weight of the XL when driving.
As for the alarm, I’ve never had any problems, but most cars do have a switch inside that turns off the internal alarm.
I sometimes do this on the truck and that way it won’t set the alarm off when I’m in the tent, although like I said I’ve never had a problem 👍🏻
@@ChocChipTravels that's great. Thank you.
@@adventuresinglastonbury no problem. Are you thinking an XL will work for you?
@@ChocChipTravels I like the size of the XL, I'm also very interested in the living pod.
@@adventuresinglastonbury Yeah the XL’s great space wise. A lot of room inside. How many will be sleeping in there?
Ive been waiting for this , ive been looking at roof top tents for a while but havent pulled the trigger until seeing this . Ive 2 young kids and this xl is going to be perfect, me the missus and the 2 youngest can get away when ever we want , Just hope it will fit on the roof of our zafira tourer😂. Fantastic review and a great vid well done 👏
Thank you. We love ours. I’m about to hit publish on the longer version so you’re welcome to watch that too if it helps.
Happy travels 😊
@@ChocChipTravels definitely 👍
Do either of these tents have plastic windows? Like with traditional tent Meaning if it’s raining you can open the black window without rain getting in? Meaning it has plastic clear window, insect mesh and black window blind?
Only the two skylights when you have the outer cover attached. The rest of the windows and doors are mesh net + canvas door/window 👍🏻
Will this fit without the pick up rear cab cover
It will yes. The XL will just hang over the back slightly (where the 2.0 doesn’t) but i’ve seen people have them fitted and the overhang isn’t too much. You’ll just need some back bed bars for it to sit on
Hi ,when will you be doing the video on insurance and security of the tent box . thanks again for the information on the XL
I’m hoping one day either this coming week or next week i’ll get to film it 👍🏻
@@ChocChipTravels that’s great thank you again
@@ChocChipTravelsdid this video ever get made? Looking at getting one and your comment made me think about more security
Thanks in advance!
@@motorbikemartint8303 no it didn’t but you’ve reminded me that i was meant to. Things have just recently changed with the insurance side of things so it’s probably a good time to do it
Let me confirm about the measurement 183 cm and 240cm. Does it mean the side you put the ladder it measures 183cm width and the other side the length is 240cm?
So yeah 183cm wide, 240cm length when opened and 120 length when closed up 👍🏻
@@ChocChipTravels Thank you so much i will order it soon as it will fit my vehicle. Hope to get discount.
@@edwinalexander1170 Yeah absolutely, you can use my code any time pal 👍🏻
