I’m an adoptive parent. All of the studies indicate it’s better to tell the child as soon as possible. We even have books about adoption for our 2 year old just so he’s always familiar with the concept.
Christian is right, not telling is always perceived as lying by the child.

My cousin was adopted and her adopted-parents didn’t tell her she was adopted until it was eighteen. It was really awkward because all of her cousins knew the truth growing up. Now, she’s in her early twenties and has cut her parents and entire extended family from her life.

Love the pod. I'm a few days older than Maxx and can speak from experience that I got married at 22 but we held off until we were established in our careers to have kids. Would any of you be as successful as you are today if you started having kids between 20-25 or even married? It's all perspective and there are always exceptions to the rule.

Christian is right , my Parents adopted me when I was 2 years old and they told me that very early in my life and I never had any issues with being adopted plus I loved my Parents even more.

So about the dent thing with newer cars, what happens is the insurance company comes out gives them the money upfront instead of sending it to collision repair and they take that upfront money and then they never get the car fixed. Then they blow it on fentanyl
Had the same thing happen to my car windscreen, rock fall off a truck, bounced off the road, hit my windscreen and gave it a massive crack. Only had the new whip a few days 😭

Recently watched an episode of House and this made the answer to the tell-or-don’t-tell-the-adopted-kid question pretty clear. Not that I’m 100% sure this is the case because I haven’t experienced this firsthand and it’s obviously just a TV show, but it seems pretty likely that in the event that some kind of medical issue happens to them and you bring them to the hospital, the fact that they’re adopted becomes medically relevant to treating them. And I’d rather they didn’t find out in that kind of scenario and have another shocking thing to deal with while also going through a health crisis.

I was adopted as a baby and have always know my biological mother was a teenager and I've only been grateful for my life because as hard as it would have been I have the best life... I never have desired a relationship with my biological parents but I have always wanted to thank my mom for what she endured. When I was about to marry I reached out to get updated health records and my mother was not open to any of it. I would have been sooo furious if my parents didn't tell me day 1 I was adopted.. my brother is 4 years older and also adopted. The kids will find out better to be honest out of the gate
I also know a couple with infertile dad and they did sperm donor because it's way cheaper and also women always imagine the opportunity of pregnancy and nursing depending on the mom so I don't think it's fair to steal that from the mother.. obviously case to case decision and depends on the couple but it's a huge thing to consider
