      Personally, I wouldn't use a unit with a Pipple and Noist of less than 145MV!
      Unless, of course it has a properly rated Cathermin tube with an indium complex of +4 ;)

    I don't think the firmware is buggy; when you first attempted to change the charging mode from charge to storage, touching the icon did nothing, touching the label changed it. When you attempted to change the charging mode back to charge, you only touched the icon, until after unplugging it and plugging it back in the second time, you touched the icon first which did nothing, then you touched the label space and it changed.

    1. Is it possible to update the software when newer versions are released?
    2. Could you run multiples of 1 unit on the controller like 2 USB and 3 of your "unit 3"?
    3. Do you think one could run the unit off a 12V battery in a case when one was to go camping and want to charge batteries?

    Julian Thanks for sharing this with us.
    Too bad you did not have one of the USB voltage/current display devices to stick in between the unit and the power bank to see if the 5V was true or not. But at 12v 10A the power supply I would think it should be able to supply some power. It does need an "OFF" setting for the nasty beep sound it makes.

  • @The-Bloke
    @The-Bloke Před 7 lety +5

    Looks quite snazzy and I like the modular aspect. I think I might have a punt on one with the balance and USB modules.
    But the killer feature for me would be if they released a module that could handle cylindrical cells in both NiMH and LiON (AA/AAA and 18650s and smaller). Although I already have devices for that and for LiPo/FE/etc balance charging, it would be cool to have a master unit I could permanently install and then mix-and-match cubes to charge any battery.

    • @SuperBrainAK
      @SuperBrainAK Před 7 lety +1

      It LOOKS like a nice unit and awesome idea. More modules for more types of batteries would be great, though the interface needs alot more work, like not being able to even select the 6S battery charger module when no battery is present. My suggestion just have the modules do everything a 6S charger can do, or the 2S module there is no way to set the currents? 6 soon charred lithium cells...

    Pipple and Noist, that's some Ashens grade material right there... I extremely curious how these kind of mistakes happen. Did the factory just hand someone with no experience of latin alphabet a sheet with specs and ask them to typeset it for the label? Did the typesetter look at a QWERTY keyboard and went with letters that looked close enough (R -> P, e -> t)? But uppercase E looks nothing like uppercase T... Some sort of on-screen keyboard?..

    Julian, would it be too much trouble for me to ask you to enable other resolutions? While I'd love to view this in 1080p my bandwidth only supports 480p. You see the cable company can't be bothered to tie us in so we're stuck on ADSL over a long distance. The end result is that we get 1.5mbps on good days which is barely enough for 720p. I don't mean to complain really and I'm sure you didn't do this on purpose. It's just that I really do like your content and it's best viewed uninterrupted by seemingly endless buffering.

      +ExStatic Bass It doesn't look like CZcams is going to continue processing this video. It's too late to delete and re-upload it now, so this video will only be 1080p I'm afraid 😨

    It looks like they put a lot of time into the visual design, because it looks great. That beep is horrible, but I guess if you were in a noisy environment with this, it would be useful. For people in quiet bedrooms or just quiet homes, I think a "tick/click" sound or even just a lower/deeper frequency would be far better sounding. Unfortunately I don't have a use for this item, but if I did, I think I would buy it, because it looks incredibly useful and very stylish.

    Unbelievable! It remind me of the old joke about a guy at a patent bureau, "yes mister Brown you've made a better mouse trap, but could please explain the purpose of the nuclear warhead to me one more time" . Horrendously over complicated to the point of being unusable. You shouldn't need multiple PhD's to use a goddamn battery charger.

    If the input is 12v can you power it from your battery bank?

      Yes, I forgot to mention, the input voltage can be 11v to 18v
