i think nikko knows what he doing with discs, the gnome is unique and really cool disc.
I can see him being genuine.. being of smaller stature, he must certainly feel daunted himself sometimes by the lanky physicality and explosiveness of other competitors and that differential becomes even clearer over at fpo. He caring about women in his own way.

I love sniffing my DrKristy dyed Maul cuz she uses scented lotion beds for dying so her discs smell great for awhile.
I had Nikko in a box as a jerk after seeing him get in that old official’s face…but the fact that he’s giving away his own money to help women who were pushed out of money because they had to play against a man seems like a pretty noble thing to do (unless it’s all just for publicity, but I don’t think so because his gf Kat literally cried at the FPO press conference where a bunch of pro girls spoke out against having to compete with men. They seem pretty passionate.)

scented discs is so 2014 ... Lat64 had a strawberry scented pure.. pine scented judge (or something similar) and there were other scents out there.. in no time, the rest of your bag will resemble the perfume section of any airport ..
For a disc that’s supposed to combat the efforts of NR, I feel like it was named after him too. I mean, NR is the only FPO player that produces it.
Personally I would love to see distance drivers with smelling salts infused into them so I could yeet the disc into a different dimension 😂😂

I just played a weekly tournament.
And someone called me out on a foot fault I'm like omg 😳 .. when .
But this was way after the play and on the next holes then got loud with me .
But that wasn't on video to show the outburst by a grown man.
It's a game of tossing plastic .. and just have fun and worry about what you do and play not others .

Aint nothing controversial about not wanting men to compete in womens protected divisions, good on Niko for at least having an honest take and giving a shit. It's more than can be said about most.
He’s probably one of the nicest guys I’ve played. He’s competitive which is what this sport needs more of. His line of discs are incredible

Nikko is leading the way for everyone who enjoys watching all women’s sports.
If you have a y chromosome, you need to be competing with people with y chromosomes. Otherwise there is no reason to have a protected division for xx people. It's not complicated. Chromosomes and hormones matter.
What about people who have been doing hormone treatments for years? You say hormones matter but it sounds like you’re not educated on trans issues at all.

Hormone therapy cannot neutralize the physical advantages a male gains through puberty (bigger lungs, bigger hearts, longer bones, etc).

I do believe in rehabilitation but my issue is Nikko has had multiple times to show he’s changed and still hasn’t. Altho I haven’t watched him or heard of him for about a year so maybe that’s good. But I’m always gonna root for someone who is truly trying to change.

But to not have the ability to point out very public flaws shows your inability to see a situation for what it is. I don't care of he rescues kittens on his off days. Face value, it is legit. Assuming an ulterior motive, based on personal biases, reflects poorly on those who do so. Dope disc.
When I first heard about this disc I thought it was a good idea because I thought it would lessen the controversy. Then I understood the intent behind it and felt less good about it. This turn around in thoughts proved (to me at least) that this idea is pretty neutral.
Regardless of which side you are on, We should all love one another more.
I disagree I don’t think you have have to love anyone that you don’t like but I think you should respect peoples opinions. I respect your opinion but I do disagree.

Used to do production work and I have helped film pro tournaments. Nikko is ok, it's not like he is a dick to everyone. He's isn't the brightest person I have ever met and he gets worked up about things easily. My guess is that he made this pledge with his mouth and not his brain. Sponsors aren't interested in him because he makes them look bad. I seriously doubt he has the fortitude or the funds to do it all year.
As much as I don't like Nikko, I'm all for the cash going to a woman who deserves it. Good on you, man.
All I gotta say is MPO exists and being trans sounds pretty mixed to me.

The Natalie Ryan thing is pretty easy to be honest, play against men. I get you're not a man and I'm all for calling you a woman/she/her/whatever you like. However I'm not for placing someone with physical advantages, that are the reason there is a female division in the first place, in the female division. Best case would be play in a transgender division, when there are enough folks to populate one. For now, play with your biological equivalent... pretty simple.
The issue is the 'physical advantages' are hard to prove. I think you are being respectful in your comment, but declaring something to be easy that isn't for most people is more of a challenge than a discussion point.

@@TheGiraffehead there aren't rules in the NBA and NFL stating women can't play, there's a reason women haven't played in top-flight men's pro sports since Manon Rhéaume played in an NHL exhibition game in 1998. Women's sports were created for a reason! I fully support people's ability to live life how they choose unless it causes issues for others. Biological men in women's sports is a problem that will only continue to grow. There must be difficult and uncomfortable conversations regarding the integrity of women's sports. I know things get really hairy in youth sports but I find it hard to believe that you'd be happy with a biological boy beating your daughters in a sport they love and strive to be great at.
If the PDGA had deeper pockets, I'm fairly confident they would have continued the legal battle, and given the number of conservative judges put in the courts during Trump's presidency, depending on where the cases were being held they probably would have won the suit and we wouldn't be having this conversation at all.
No she doesn't. Evaliina is considerably built more feminine than Ryan, it's not even close (because she's female). I've seen gay guys built more feminine than Ryan.
I don't care about women's sports so I don't have an opinion on trans athletes, but I think it's cool what Locastro is doing..and i want that disc.
My view on NR is that it doesn't matter right now. Outside of distance competitions, disc golf isn't a sport of strength but a sport of technique and consistency. If physicality won tournaments then Ohn wouldn't have podiums and Evalina & Ella & NR would be on top every stop. That just isn't what is happening. The women who lose to NR are losing because they are 3-putting on 300ft par 3's or mega shanking their tee/up shots consistently. It's not because they are weak and Natalie is strong. That said, I don't think Nikko actually cares that much about it. He's just using the current flavor of culture war outrage as marketing because he knew no one would by his disc otherwise.

As a person who is dating someone who’s trans. I don’t feel like this is a super good initiative due to the low-key hate towards someone like my husband.
I do think we should be supportive towards women, trans or not tho, so good on Lacastro for giving money to women.
My stance is that there should be a separate division or scoring for people like Natalie and my husband. I don’t want to dismiss someone’s gender, however, sports is very different at the pro level.
