4:05 those stickers I've seen on london alx400s they are defo not hybrid
FinWotsits not the same stickers. There very similar but the alx400 say this bus has been adapted to reduce emissions where the hybrids should say hybrid cleaner air for london

You get multiple different versions of it. There's Hybrid, Electric, Bio-diesel and then just cleaner air for London meaning it's been adapted to be cleaner
Used to like driving this route when it used to go all the way to Blackwall Station. Nice easy route
Yes it was a great route to Aldgate! It keeps getting cut back over the decades!
It was always known as the lazy drivers route though. You could follow a 176 to The Elephant then a 35 to Monument then a 15 down to Blackwall from Aldgate, made for a very quiet bus

I remember Aldgate when it had London Transport Trolleybuses, showing my age, there is at least one Traction Standard left in the bus station used to support a span wire.

It would be great to hear more stories about your experiences on the trolley buses. I've only seen London from 2012, but it's nice to hear the history and stories from the last 30 to 70 years.

Finally had the chance to watch - it was very cool to see you in a movie-like video! It sounded like you used different mic set-ups at times, so we could hear you from further away, and also when you were off-screen. Your editor did a great job!
I could tell it was tough trying to sensor the company logos and the fleet numbers lol but you tried your best! If you've got any more movies coming, I'm looking forward to seeing them!

Sadly my editor cameraman is unavailable, as he is busy with other projects, but it's good to try movie style videos and I enjoyed doing 3 videos with him. This one, heritage route 15 video and the bus n coach expo 2019.

I used to live in Surrey right on the SW London boarders. Some of Surrey's bus routes were suffering the death of a thousand cuts. Luckily where I was it was TfL buses between Epsom and Kingston, plus our local E5.
Arriva have been cutting back services here in the North West, both in Manchester and Merseyside. We've lost a route, they've amended the remaining route times to compensate, even so it's now a 20 minute frequency and not 15. Can't grumble though, many parts of the UK would love to have one bus an hour, let alone three.
As amazing as London is, I am glad I moved. Certainly don't get the traffic congestion or pollution here the Kingston, Tolworth, or even Epsom had.

It is sad to see cuts to public services, especially as the population is growing.
We do need to see regular buses on routes on every road and street in the land. Without buses, nobody can get anywhere. We also need to promote 'travelling on local bus routes', via all forms of media.
Buses are more comfortable to travel on, compared to many years ago.
I'm glad you managed to travel on some London buses years ago.
I've seen a lot of changes in London over the past 10 years. Sadly it's been more and more cuts to services, especially in recent years, due to more people working from home.
I like this video which makes me know more about the London bus, you're a great job. I'm from Hong Kong but I never come to London before. I believe in going there soon and I hope to have a chance to see you.

Yes matthew...the newer buses make a ll the difference....especially hybrid ones.
matthew howard it is nice we have newer buses down in Kernow, First really have turned around the service in Cornwall in recent years! I do still enjoy riding the 51,02&52 plate Dennis Trident/Plaxton Presidents on my 231 route into Truro College. I’ll definitely miss them when they leave Cornwall next year.
DoubleDeckerAnton no hybrid or electric buses in Cornwall yet, although I’ve heard rumours about a few new electric E400MMCs coming soon for the short U3 service that serves Penryn University to nearby town Falmouth about 3 miles away.

DoubleDeckerAnton the crazy thing is I’ve been so many times. Waterloo is my second home, I work for the Railway. I’ve recently taken to hopping on a bus, top deck, front row. Any bus, no plan other than to go on a journey to wherever that bus may be going. A great way to see, discover and explore London.
The old days you had conductors to look after the passengers and you could concentrate on driving the bus

Great video Anton and your anonymous cameraman. In West London the 140 is suffering a similar fate being axed from Heathrow having served it since 1955. Celebratory heritage event is on Sat 2rd Nov.

"When I wer lad" (OAP warning) in east London route 40 ran from Wansted to Camberwell Green. Some buses for the route were from Forest Gate Garage (long closed). Great video as always, thank you.

I'd love to do a video like this every week. It was easy for me, but my editor spent tens of hrs sifting through video footage and putting it all together and I had to amend a few things with wording and punctuality, but I enjoyed the whole process. My editor is busy on other projects now, but I hope to do a few more like this in the future.

I remember it crew worked with Routemasters (and later crew Titan's) when it turned at Poplar Garage except Saturday afternoons when it ran to East Ham White Horse (like the 15) and at one point in the peaks when it went to North Woolwich Free Ferry (like the 69). It's a shame that a lot of long standing routes have been chopped & cut up over the years.....
Yes, they have cut a lot of routes down. Even 45 was cut from Kings X to Elephant n castle from Clapham Park.

I knew I hit 30,000 subs late November. It's been a journey on my channel and its difficult to regularly upload, especially something of this calibre. I'm glad I've managed to encourage other bus drivers to film and blog their experiences on buses whether in London or elsewhere.

Which company is it you work for. Are they ok and happy for you to vlog. You do a great job at it and they should be happy and proud of you. I would say you have a passion and gift of the gab that you should be involved in recruitment or training, you’re wasted mate.

Yes...I have to hide the company logos.
He's just always avoided showing his company's logo because he can't show it. Other companies, he obviously can show. Bit pointless, but it's what his company insists!
