Doc explains how to water your lawn during long hot periods where rains are low. During these drought periods, Bermuda lawns can pull back and start to look brown or even dormant. This is normal. However your lawn has various areas that require more water than others. Things such as tree roots, construction debris, and rocks can starve lawns of traditional deep watering cycles.

So sorry for your loss, but also a blessing! My daughter in law's dad passed away last week after a long battle with cancer. During Corona Virus he could not visit favorite places one last time but did visit with close family and friends. God bless!!

Sorry for your family’s loss. I have been trying out a half cycle watering then immediately another half every three days. For instance, if you want each station to run for 30 minutes, set it for 15 and then run the cycle again for 15 more after. Seems to be working well for me in North Texas.
Correction* I do this every other day.

I'm sorry for the loss your family has endured. Knowing that she is at peace is a beautiful state of mind to reach. Far too often we allow the fact that we will miss someone to over shadow their experience. I as a fellow man and a some who has lost both parents love you man. I just put on some Laser dye and it took care of all my hot spots immediately. My yard has looked great all week and it's been 106 degrees.

How does caring for Zoysia differ from Bermuda? I have a Bermuda front lawn and Zoysia rear lawn. I want to fire my lawn company and start treating the lawns myself after watching you channel.
My condolences as well. I'm sure it must have felt like a long journey for everyone including her. Those woulda, coulda, shoulda thoughts can always be applied for future benefit to someone else. Almost like a gift she leaves behind.

Tips for watering in hot summer under water restrictions? Once a day watering in San Antonio between 7 PM to 11 AM only. Hand water in the evening to help ‘cool’ the yard?

Watering restrictions here in Texas so i only get to water once a week....sucks but im trying to get down enough water in that one day LOL. Been starting it up around 3am till 7am, then again from 8pm to 12. I used to have it set up twice a week. 100+ here the last 2 weeks also......
What about drought watering with odd/even day requirements?

By the way I live in GA as well and I LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos. I’m also a PGF Complete loyalist and I’ve recommended it (and your channel) to several of my neighbors.

It also depends on your sprinkler heads. Pop ups water constantly but rotors take a while to cover their set pattern. Rotors need to be set longer to cover the ground effectively.
Doc! Is it safe to put out PGF in situations like this in summer time? Say at the bag rate?
Sure as long as you have water it can be put out all season long.

I water my Bermuda everyday for 20 minutes each. Sometimes I still have to do an additional spot water due to some brown areas, then boom green again.

Really like and appreciate your videos and advice. I have fescue in the backyard that was originally laid by the builder. If I put down Bermuda is it possible for it to become dominant and how long would it take to take over the back? Also, what’s the best way to accomplish this? Thanks!
