The body language is such a key factor. Iâve dealt with tons of different personalities while door knocking. The main thing that worked for me was pretty much exactly as you described.
Stray away from the boxing stance, but be careful. Only pivot away if your leading the conversation and/or hinting at a ladder in the truck for instance.
If the homeowner starts leading the conversation, pivot back. Both feet pointed in the direction of someone while there talking also shows interest. Subtle body languages like that are commonly known by a lot of people. More than just salesman. Like for instance, homeowners! And people follow eyes! Draw them out, show them what youâre talking about, educate and execute.
Great videos! Helping me get back in the game!
LOVE IT, Devin. All great points. Studying body language is a never-ending art form learning to pick up subtleties, mirroring, and when/how to use body language. I really appreciate you sharing your insights to benefit others on the Channel. I encourage you to comment on any video you feel moved to. I read and reply to them all - and it's also what FUELS the power of this growing community! Thanks!
I'll bet you did do her neighbors, slick fella with a smooth demeanor. Jokes aside, this advice is super helpful. Thank you kindly!
Ah the old peek behind the screen door and look at u like ur a crazy person tactic. Seen that.
This one time this lady opened the blinds and stared at me in my eyes for like 5 seconds and then, without breaking eye contact, slooooooooooowly closed the blinds over another 5 seconds. đ

This is something Iâm working at. The body language. I have gotten my SLAP down pretty well. Good demeanor. Always friendly. Losing my âumâs. I just need to work on appearing more inviting to conversation.
Iâll try a few body language adjustments.
Thanks Adam!
đȘ Glad to see you using what're learning, It's a never ending game of self-improvement. You got this!
@@TheRoofStrategist well I can tell you this⊠it literally JUST worked for me 45 min ago! It got me on the roof!
I donât think thereâs enough there to justify a claim, but point is⊠it got boots on the roof
@@jeffdyrland2795 YEAAA BUDDY! Congrats dude. Glad to see you putting these strategies to work for you - and most importantly - testing them for yourself. That's a huge victory. Also -- you may want to check out this video on the topic of "I don't think there's enough there to justify a claim..." czcams.com/video/5uuSmpCz-YQ/video.html
I watched this video 2 months ago and started using these helpful tactics and it has completely changed the game for me. Iâm relatively new to roofing sales but this video helped me master the door knocking game. Youâre going to always have the ones who slam the door in your face, but small changes in your body language can be a game changer for you. The main thing I use DAILY is....do you have any objection...... works like a charm! I share this video with anyone who says theyâre struggling with door knocking! Thanks Adam!!
HECK YEAH!!! I love hearing this. So pumped to support you on your journey, Eric. Keep it up my man and fire away any questions or things you'd like me to cover on an upcoming live :)
Iâm struggling with D2D. Gonna try these out immediately! Good to hear responses like this!
Damn good idea if homeowners scared to come out. Back up look up and point at shingles. Hey did u know you have loose shingles there??? Good one
:) It works well!
Really solid points...
Very slick,digging the tactics Adam

I am new to roof selling. This is a question to anybody. You're are walking knocking on doors, you now are 3,4 or 5 streets over from where your vehicle is parked that holds your ladder. Adam, you like to say, "do you have any objection if I pop up on your roof......etc. Do you now run back to your car and tell them I will be back in 20 minutes, what do you do? Also, it's 6 or 7 PM, it's dark, do you make an appt for the following day or what? I have watched about 50 videos so far and Adam has not addressed this yet. Any suggestions will help, especially when your vehicle is far away on another street somewhere.
You take your car everywhere you knock or knock with someone else
Thank you
You're welcome!
I love these tips!!!

Just wondering, how did you learn these tools . Is this natural thinking for you ? Did you learn all this in the field on your own ?
Great question. It's a combination. I got my undergraduate degree in Psychology, studied alot of the "sales greats," read/listened to a TON of books, but these specific body language tricks I sort of figured out by accident by observing sales conversations very closely. It also helped as I trained sales people and sat in on their sales meetings to watch how prospects respond to subtle queues.
Hey Adam how can I get a insurance company/ realtors on my side and want to chose me ?
Great question. I covered videos on both:

Editing messed up. Some repeats in therep
ooops!
Lol itâs not easy as you. Said it a homeowner wonât let anyone just hop on. Roof just like tht
These tactics MUST be practiced. The first time I taught a rep I shadowed him. He thought he NAILED it and got rejected. On the walk back to the truck we broke down what he did and how he could improve. The very next door he nailed it. Practice practice practice. And if you can, have someone shadow you so they can give you real-world feedback. How we THINK we did something and how we actually did can be very different :)
