I think it just cut to him "winning" because they don't want to spoil how to actually defeat the boss. Might even be another phase or something.

The Ladies were spider demons. Wukong came into existence to protect a Monks journey to India to get the sacred budhistic scrolls. Demons throughout the Journey wanted to eat the Monks flesh, as legends says it will give them immortality and great powers.
Only if said monk was to attain the Rainbow Body. At least, that would make more sense...

well, I have to say I have known nothing about this game,although it's basic on the Chinese classical novel Journey to the West. I have watched the same name TV program, however apparently they want to produce a much more historical game which is based on Chinese traditional culture.But I guess if you know the basic plot of this novel,then you will understand some monster enemies' special attack points.

Aren't those women spider demons? I remember watching one the more recent films where there where 3 ladies that where spider demons.
Yup,there got seven spider including the mother.The smallest spiders have not yet turned into human form. It's that little yellow spider in the palm of lady hand.

looks a lot less linear than Dark souls but not as open world as Elden ring I'd say..good in-between
