I'm back with another cover! Time to shake off the rust and get back to it! Horn Warmup Guide: hornsandstuff.... Horn.4 Merch: goo.gl/FsbQDA Instagram: goo.gl/cti3wY
Absolutely fantastic. The French Horn is so underrated and it's a shame. Definitely my favorite instrument in the brass section and potentially even my favorite instrument to hear in the orchestra.
I learned how to play this on horn last year and didn’t know there was multiple parts I play the lead, I love it you did amazing! 🤩 I’m mesmerized, I live to play and listen to French horn.
Ayyye first comment, I regret not being able to keep playing the French Horn after I left my middle school because I don't have money to get one and my highschool doesn't have one :(
What's the name of the recording software you use? I have an audition coming up that requires video submission and I figured whatever you are using is probably the best thing to use.
Beautiful! I could listen to this all day also do you know of any good shops for sheet music for the horn? Thanks & happy holidays (if you don't post till 2019).
I’m a trumpet player, but I have a single horn that I’ve played on the side for a couple of years but I’m trying to actually get good at it. Does anyone have any tips? I find double horn a lot easier but I don’t have one
I know you’re almost definitely not going to see this, but what program do you use to put all of the parts together? I’m looking to do something similar with my horn.
Hey, could you give me some tips of what I could help better myself on transitioning from a alto sax to a triple French horn, I can play some double horn but I don’t know if there is a difference, so I’m asking an experienced player.
Hi there, I'm a French horn player as well. Is there a reason that you're looking to play a triple? Generally, people only need use triple horns for very advanced music, like in University or for symphony or orchestras. If you're transitioning from saxophone to French horn, I would recommend getting super comfortable on a double first before trying out a triple. Hope this helps!
Cori-on-Camera I’m still in high school, I’m a sophomore, I’m going to be in the highest level of band they offer and hopefully jazz, I just thought it has more of a range and that would equal better parts
Adding on to the other reply. Basically, a triple horn just has another (smaller, usually pitched an octave above the "F" side ) horn on top of a normal double horn, nothing magic. Your chops still have to buzz the high notes, so in that respect a triple will not increase your range. The reason people use triple horns is because the higher notes becomes "further apart" in the harmonic series, so cacking high notes happens slightly less often. Additionally, blowing through the smaller instrument may feel more compact and comfortable way up at the top of the horn's register. However, you have to balance that with added cost, weight, and mechanical parts to have issues with, and outside of the highest register, the high F side starts to lose the characteristic "horn sound." Most players use a double horn as their main instrument, switching to a descant or triple at a high level when they feel they would benefit from an easier, lighter high register (Haydn, Beethoven horn parts, intense solo work, etc..). I recommend you consider a normal double horn as a reasonable first foray into serious horn playing. As someone who plays a "big" double horn (Conn 8D) with a sizeable mouthpiece on a daily basis, I can confirm that all the high notes you will ever need are still possible, but there are certainly plenty of times when I wonder if I should downsize my equipment for ease of playing. No sense in having a big sound if it makes you miss all your high notes lol! Start with something middle of the road (wessex double horn seems like a great place to begin, although I've never personally played it) and you'll find what works after you've gotten more experience and preferences. Happy horn hunting!! :)
@@datblobfish I play a Conn 8D too! They're amazing instruments. I agree completely with what you've said about triple horns (but you said it in a much better way then I could've)
