Fish, sea serpent, and aqua are usually mashed together especially because the support cards for them are just generic water support while the rest are archetype specific.
Well it's correct but there are a few specific archetype for each one like the atlantian archetype for sea serpents or fishborg archetype and they are usually very small and move from 4 to 12 cards per archetype for the most
That makes sense. But because of such logic, I doubt Konami would ever make a "brimstone" archetype, mixing stone and pyro monsters. That would be cool.
All my aqua decks have fish and sea serpent support so that checks out. Still, I've always loved Shark and his way of playing. To see that his archetype was done so dirty makes me sad
Finally someone acknowledges how mistreated fish is. Everytime i bring it up people say that it has support cause of cards that benefit them together with aquas and sea serpents but they absolutely need an archetype. Otherwise they don't have a reason to exist. It's a shame cause konami had a chance in zexal with shark being a main character. They need to make sharks an archetype asap
I was trying to build a Thunder Dragon deck and was surprised how little the amount of support for Thunder there was. Also it feels like there is little support for Fire, Water, and Wind Attribute specifically
Out of the water trio (Aqua, Sea Serpent, Fish), only the Gisshiki which are sea serpents can be an archetype. But they aren't really that good...best you can do is mashing them together with some Sharks and atleanteans to get the xyz and some synchro
I run a Cyber Dragon and Elemental Hero deck respectively. GX has some of the best archetypes but Gravekeepers are kinda forgettable since they get overshadowed by other archetypes

If you look up Mumkey Jones ygo lets plays he usually makes a deck that forgoes extra deck stuff and focuses on fire as a theme. It burns and punishes extra deck users.

Sword Arm of Dragon and Crawling Dragon #2 spring to mind as they are Dinosaurs, also Winged Dragon Guardian of the Fortress #2 is a Winged-Beast, in the Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories game which came out before the TCG rules were properly established you could fuse a lot of different monsters together without polymerization, yet these cards were still treated as dragons, there’s also a lot of machine dragons I guess so there must be loads more examples, maybe cause Blue Eyes is the most iconic Yu-Gi-Oh! card Konami tried to diversify the “dragons” more
Is it really banned? I'm honestly asking? Discard 1 random card in your hand and look through your deck for 4 reptiles monsters and sent them to the Graveyard. The only thing I could come up with is to lower your deck size to get the cards you need faster. Like to get the right and left legs and arms of the forbidden one and then trying to get the head to win?

My favorite archetypes are Red-Eyes, Karakuri, Cyber Dragons, Generic Dino’s, Hazy’s and Hero’s. I have been trying out Vendreads, Fire Fist and Dragunity’s in duel links.
I find it weird they decided to split up sea creatures into separate categories instead of just making one 'marine beast' type. I also find pyros, aquas, thunders, and rocks weird monster types to have in the game, period. They're all defined by association with an element, but the existence of attributes makes that feel redundant. Imo they could've just made one 'elemental' type and, if you wanted to make archetypes for specific elements, have the support cards say 'FIRE elemental', 'EARTH elemental', etc.

4:34 - Altergeists are also spellcasters. :-) 8:07 - Mayakashi are zombies that I think are a turbo mill deck. 8:33 - Lunalights are an OTK Beast-Warrior deck. 8:35 - Aromages are Plants! :P 9:11 - Salamangreats are Cyberse! 9:20 - Aliens and Worms are Reptiles. :-D 10:49 - Metaphys are Wyrm!
Yeah I would like to see more of all of the under represented types so it’s a little more even out. I personally love playing warriors because once they go off they usually go off with a Big Bang, but I would personally like to see a little more variety with all the other types as well. Like seriously if we could get an archetype centered around divine beast that aren’t the god cards or anything like that but instead have various different gods and goddesses from different religious ideals and philosophies that somehow work together, that would be pretty neat to see as at least a rouge deck
I like Wyrms (True King/Yang Zing, Metaphys), Psychics (Mekk-Knight), and Dragons (Rokkets). And yes, there are no fish archetypes. White/White Aura is a series (No specific support cards), and the same goes for Sharks. Fishborgs technically have Fishborg Doctor, which has an effect that would technically make them an archetype, but there's only 5 of them (with one being banned), and Doctor itself is so bad it shouldn't even exist.
I'd like to see more support for Reptiles and Plants, and having some new support/ archetypes for Aqua, Pyro and Rock respectively would be nice. They could do a thing like with Aesirs where it was 1 large archetype with 3 subarchetypes within it, where the subs are devided by type, but the archetype as a whole is related to underwater volcanism/ the creation of landmasses.
I can think of 4 different Actual Wyrm Archetypes which should of been easy picks. Yang Zing, True Draco, Metephys, Tenyi as for the Fish one, there is only 1 which comes to mind, the White Aura Archetype
I think having 3 different water-related types (Aqua, Fish, Sea Serpent) spread them all a bit too thin. Aqua still does fine but the other two would probably be just better off being merged in with Aqua.

fiend are so high because of the early cards and anime normal cards from the very begining,spellcasters are so high because of the exodia cards fortune ladies have 2 forms and the charmer cards which have a version for each attribute plus the perfomapals which were arc v's protagonist cards,i guess the machine are so high as well because of yusei fudos cards,beast-warriors and winged-beasts usually go in a package cards that have effects for those type usually include both sometimes beasts as well, same goes for fish and seaserpents sometimes effects include aquas as well,so you can technically count those as 1 type.
A pure Beast deck is indeed hard Lets continue the list xD 1 to 4 Ojama, Crystal beasts, Raccoons, Glad beasts. 5. Fabled (kinda) with popolair cards like Ganashia, Cerburrel, Nozoochee, Catshith, Chawa, synchros like Kudabbi and Unicore, etc. Given halve off the archetype is Fiends. 6. The Sphinxes off the Pyramide off light movie. 7. Chumley used a Koala deck/ Des kangaroo/ Master off Oz deck (his Deck from Down under). 8. You have the Key mouse, Lock cat and Chain dog trio. 9. You have the Mystical beast of the forests cards. 10 You have the pets off the Madolche archetype like Baaple, Chickolates (I thought this would be a winged-beast, it's not), Cruffssant, Hootcake (also suprising it's not a winged-beast) and Mewfeuille. Extra. I was thinking off Fur hires when I started off this list, but only 3 cards in that archetype are actually Beast type monsters, Just Donpa, Recon and Folgo.
Sharks only count in the anime and manga because there's no cards printed that mentions shark monsters, thus it renders them a series not an archetype.
Ever since I was a Kid, I have always loved Fiend/Spellcaster/Warrior, Yami Yugi probably influenced that on me lmao, an exception on this is probably Machines because I love cyber dragons.
Dragon user since the duelist kingdom I have a deck for almost all dragon arch but have tried machine (cyber dragon arch) spellcaster (magician girl arch) beastwarrior (lunalight arch) and dinosaur (dinomist arch)
Yugi-spellcasters (Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl...) Judai-warriors (Heroes) Yusei-dragon (Stardust Dragon and its evolutions) Yuma-warrior (Utopia and its variations) Yuya-Dragon(s) (Heavenly Dragons or however they're called) Yusaku-Cyberse lol(but honestly warrior and dragon)(All those "Talker" types and Firewall Dragon) Yuga-apparently spellcaster In conclusion protagonists will have either warrior, dragon or spellcaster as their ace monster.
From a creative point of views thinking of warriors and machines would be the easiest and something like Sea Serpent a lot more challenging. I do think there is a lot to go on with plants that hasn't been done so I'd go with more plants and beasts even though those aren't really my favourite types. I'd love for Dino's to have lots more viable options

The star student was then given an iron sword and medium shield with iron rivets upon graduation, the "Battleguard Slave and Amazoness Virgin".
I think there's 2 reasons why Dragons feel like they should be more plentiful. First, they're often boss/ace monsters, while other types have a higher percentage of weaker monsters. And also, there's a lot of "Dragons" that aren't actually dragon-type (like Cyber Dragon, Thunder Dragon etc...).
Subterror has more types in it than any other archetype, (besides Number). Spellcaster, Warrior, Beast-Warrior, Aqua, Thunder, Rock, Pyro, Sea Serpent, Dragon, Wyrm, Fairy, Fiend, Reptile, and Zombie.
I would love to see a new Fish deck. One with monsters that get effects when Umi is on the field. Maybe somewhat similar to Gravekeeper's how they only really work when you have Necrovalley and their spell and trap crads need both Necrovalley and a Gravekeeper's monster on the field.
Konami is afraid to make a good reptille archetype because they may end up making Vennominnaga easy to summon. Althought she can easily be countered now with a Kaiju...

Konami wouldn’t make the Reptile archetype in modern day, because their fear of heart from Snake Rain existed. That’s explained why

Yeah I would like to see more of all of the under represented types so it’s a little more even out. I personally love playing warriors because once they go off they usually go off with a Big Bang, but I would personally like to see a little more variety with all the other types as well. Like seriously if we could get an archetype centered around divine beast that aren’t the god cards or anything like that but instead have various different gods and goddesses from different religious ideals and philosophies that somehow work together, that would be pretty neat to see as at least a rouge deck
I like Wyrms (True King/Yang Zing, Metaphys), Psychics (Mekk-Knight), and Dragons (Rokkets).
And yes, there are no fish archetypes. White/White Aura is a series (No specific support cards), and the same goes for Sharks. Fishborgs technically have Fishborg Doctor, which has an effect that would technically make them an archetype, but there's only 5 of them (with one being banned), and Doctor itself is so bad it shouldn't even exist.
Fishborgs!!! How could you forget, they have fish in the name. Just kidding, nobody remembers them.
I'd like to see more support for Reptiles and Plants, and having some new support/ archetypes for Aqua, Pyro and Rock respectively would be nice. They could do a thing like with Aesirs where it was 1 large archetype with 3 subarchetypes within it, where the subs are devided by type, but the archetype as a whole is related to underwater volcanism/ the creation of landmasses.
I can think of 4 different Actual Wyrm Archetypes which should of been easy picks. Yang Zing, True Draco, Metephys, Tenyi as for the Fish one, there is only 1 which comes to mind, the White Aura Archetype
Dragon (Blue Eyes), Warriors (Elemental Heroes), Machines (Cyber Dragons)
I think having 3 different water-related types (Aqua, Fish, Sea Serpent) spread them all a bit too thin. Aqua still does fine but the other two would probably be just better off being merged in with Aqua.

White was a Fish archetype in the Arc-V manga, but in the O/TCG its support went to Fish monsters in general

fiend are so high because of the early cards and anime normal cards from the very begining,spellcasters are so high because of the exodia cards fortune ladies have 2 forms and the charmer cards which have a version for each attribute plus the perfomapals which were arc v's protagonist cards,i guess the machine are so high as well because of yusei fudos cards,beast-warriors and winged-beasts usually go in a package cards that have effects for those type usually include both sometimes beasts as well, same goes for fish and seaserpents sometimes effects include aquas as well,so you can technically count those as 1 type.
In machine-type there's also gear archtype, I enjoyed it some time ago xD

6. The Sphinxes off the Pyramide off light movie.
7. Chumley used a Koala deck/ Des kangaroo/ Master off Oz deck (his Deck from Down under).
8. You have the Key mouse, Lock cat and Chain dog trio.
9. You have the Mystical beast of the forests cards.
10 You have the pets off the Madolche archetype like Baaple, Chickolates (I thought this would be a winged-beast, it's not), Cruffssant, Hootcake (also suprising it's not a winged-beast) and Mewfeuille.
Extra. I was thinking off Fur hires when I started off this list, but only 3 cards in that archetype are actually Beast type monsters, Just Donpa, Recon and Folgo.
Fishborg, White Aura and Sharks are fish archetypes
Sharks only count in the anime and manga because there's no cards printed that mentions shark monsters, thus it renders them a series not an archetype.
Ever since I was a Kid, I have always loved Fiend/Spellcaster/Warrior, Yami Yugi probably influenced that on me lmao, an exception on this is probably Machines because I love cyber dragons.
I only care about Spellcasters.
And of the Spellcasters I only care about The Dark Magician and all his friends.

As a guy whose favorite type is Wyrm, I'm actually kinda pleased with how rare it is, kinda makes the type feel unique.

There's Yang Zing for the Wyrm type. There is Battlewasps for Insects. There is Worms for Reptiles.

From a creative point of views thinking of warriors and machines would be the easiest and something like Sea Serpent a lot more challenging. I do think there is a lot to go on with plants that hasn't been done so I'd go with more plants and beasts even though those aren't really my favourite types. I'd love for Dino's to have lots more viable options

The story that goes with it is as follows: The Battleguards where have some problems with the Amazons hunting in their lives. Now they had access to the best material available, iron, and where almost all male Minotaurs, where as the Amazons were all females, barring the occasional communal male "boy toy". But the Amazons were very cunning. So the Battleguards knew they would need a little help to stop them, when an adventurer, "Little Winguard", rolls into town and says he can help them defeat the Amazons. He trains them to be a disciplined fighting force that can now use the axe and spear. The was subsequently an overwhelming victory for the Battleguards. So the Amazons had to accept the terms of the Battleguards, "hunting in our lands is considered poaching, punishable by slavery" and you must give 7 of your virgins as slaves now. The slaves were then trained by Little Winguard for one year. The star student was then given an iron sword and medium shield with iron rivets upon graduation, the "Battleguard Slave and Amazoness Virgin".
Well the white aura monsters are a pure fish arcetype tho a small one
Warrior, Machine, Dragon, Beast, Beast-Warrior, Winged Beast, Rock, Insect, Aqua, and Fish would probably be my top 10 most favorite types.
Wait, the fuck's a divine beast besides the Egyptian Gods and Ra's two other forms? That blows my mind more than anything.
That number factors in the reprints, I think.
I think there's 2 reasons why Dragons feel like they should be more plentiful.
First, they're often boss/ace monsters, while other types have a higher percentage of weaker monsters.
And also, there's a lot of "Dragons" that aren't actually dragon-type (like Cyber Dragon, Thunder Dragon etc...).
Subterror has more types in it than any other archetype, (besides Number). Spellcaster, Warrior, Beast-Warrior, Aqua, Thunder, Rock, Pyro, Sea Serpent, Dragon, Wyrm, Fairy, Fiend, Reptile, and Zombie.

I would love to see a new Fish deck. One with monsters that get effects when Umi is on the field. Maybe somewhat similar to Gravekeeper's how they only really work when you have Necrovalley and their spell and trap crads need both Necrovalley and a Gravekeeper's monster on the field.
