This is one of the first times I heeded the suggestion of watching the original media BEFORE the Kill Count instead of watching it afterwards. Too Many Cooks was VERY interesting and I'm extremely glad I watched it before this video. If you're scrolling through the comments before you watch this kill count, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND watching Too Many Cooks before this Kill Count if you've never seen it before. It's quite the experience, and if you struggle with watching long form media like me, Too Many Cooks is only 11 minutes.

As an avid adult swim fan since i was a kid, i had never seen of, or heard of too many cooks up until i saw this kill count. As an avid dead meat fan, i took james advice and went and watched too many cooks for the first time before i watched this kill count, and MAN, was i absolutely blown away and shook to my core at the absolutely masterpiece of hilariousness that is that short, and this kill count EXPONENTIALLY increases the depth of that watch with all the history and reference clarifying. You’all are amazing! Thank you for illuminating me on exactly how many cooks there actually are!

Although either way it is one of the most violent shows [as] ever made, and a lot of people who only watched the show casually might be surprise to know this series has lore too

After the first couple of seconds of footage, I had to pause it and go watch the original. So good. The campiness, the nostalgia, even the undercurrent of creepiness when you see the killer in the background. I used to watch Adult Swim all the time, even until late at night when I could get away with it, but never knew this existed.

Another banger for the Weird Era. I watched this for the first time last night in preparation for the kill count, and I have no idea how the hell I missed this masterpiece. The way the opening credits keep going and going, getting darker and more twisted, until you realize, that it's the entire short. It's genius, and that theme song's going to be stuck in my head for a very long time. Which is good because I love it.

I just watched it for the first time before this kill count and was genuinely surprised with how clever, unique, and actually frightening it was. It’s a masterpiece on how to combine horror and comedy.

My first thought as soon as I saw this kill count was "man, the to the numbers bit is going to be brilliant."
I remember watching this right after coming back from work to wind down (which in hindsight I should have known wouldn't happen because it's Adult Swim) and not being remotely prepared for the unsettling hilarity. I still go back to it every so often when that song slithers back into my brain.
Decided to watch Too Many Cooks totally blind after you mentioned it was only an 11 minute bit and boy was I not disappointed. I laughed so hard I cried to proceeded to show it to everyone who would let me force it upon this. This kill count was a delight and considering I also watched the podcast episode before this, Katie being there for the to the numbers bit made me so excited. This was such a great episode. That would be a great name, however I don’t think a sequel is likely. One of the most effective elements of this is the unexpected length. To do it again (as a sequel likely would) would cheapen the core element of the original.

With absolutely zero context whatsoever I spent the next ten minutes having my brain slowly melted in to jelly. 10/10 experience.

As I always say when it comes to this short, that the guy doesn't actively start killing people until the Coat and the Pie get a credit. He was perfectly fine "waiting for his turn" as a bit character UNTIL the intro decides to credit a Coat and a Pie over him, that's when he goes from simply creepily standing in the background to straight up murdering people, either out of frustration or, more likely, trying to take them out the intro so he can get a spot on it.
As an unitiated, I'm very glad you shared this with me! Paused the video to go watch it, and was not disappointed, it was great, and this was a wonderful episode covering it!

It's so crazy hearing about Mike lazo and venture Brothers, because I just finished the entire series yesterday, it is a masterpiece of a show. Seriously, it plays on all the '60s style Johnny quest boy adventurer solves crimes and mysteries around the globe trope. I cannot stress this enough, ends abruptly but so enjoyable up to the final moments. It's on max
