Then, we have the Kushan Empire as well, after that I don't know about Afghanistan or Pakistan even, we read Iranian rich history, from the Sassanian to Safavid mentions. If I am not mistaken, there was a Gandhara kingdom( from which Kandahar is derived), located in north-western Pakistan/Eastern Afghanistan in the Hindu epic Mahabharatam, which goes beyond 3000years in linguistic analysis, but the oldest fragments/written copies survive only from the 5-4th century BCE.
Then, we have the Kushan Empire as well, after that I don't know about Afghanistan or Pakistan even, we read Iranian rich history, from the Sassanian to Safavid mentions. We tend to believe that Afghanistan was a sort of buffer-zone between Safavidas and Mughals of the North.
Is Pashtun language same as Persian? Isn't Persian what unites all Iranic groups? We Indians have it different here, with 22 scheduled languages with totally different scripts, I come from the South-eastern part of India, not from the Hindi Mughal belt.
