I always have an audio book on when I sew when I’m cleaning and driving to work I love them!! I Get through so many books 🙌👌 x
I definitely need to get more audio books on the go, such a great way to enjoy them!
I love to sew with music or usually silence since my sewing room is in the house. When it was in a garden room I always had music. Never eat in the sewing room - I actually don’t think about food when I am engrossed in a project but I do have a lot of drinks - both hot and cold. Never made the Marnie because I have the Atelier Jupe Emma which I love. Never watched one of your sewalongs before but I will again!! Thank you.
So pleased you enjoyed it! I love the sound of a garden room!
It's beautiful, and the jacket is a wonderful addition
Thank you so much!
Lovely dress , it would look great with a black faux leather biker jacket ❤
Oooh that would look so good
I’m with you on the hemming. I like to hem what I can as soon as possible. 😊
absolutely!!
Your dress looks fabulous on you !
I love seeing you make and show your garments.I am a plus size and it's great to see how styles look on a similar body, especially when they look so good.I wouldn't have thought this style would have suited me for the reasons you gave but it looks so lovely on you I have changed my mind. Thanks for the tip about the vest,That is what I love about your vlogs,it is like having a friend to chat to and give advice.Unless the dress was lengthened considerably I wouldn't use a belt. The length it is now means a belt cuts it in half.Mind you if you wear a belt with it and show it I am sure I would change my mind. I either sew in silence or with the TV on.I don't like drinks or food when I sew as I'd be afraid of making a mess.
Thank you so much I really appreciate your lovely comment!! I have tried a belt with it and I think you're right, it just doesn't quite look right
I usually sew watching sewing or knitting vlogs, I have several favourites so usually enough content really love chatty sew alongs so enjoying this very much. I never have any drinks or food near my machines or fabrics just in case something happens. Something unexpected and then it would be a catastrophe! I’ve seen that film but no spoilers from me ! Enjoy. Xx ps you are so right how movies sometimes don’t do books justice, I read time travellers wife my favourite book ever and whilst I did enjoy the film it was no where near as good as the book and if you saw the movie and didn’t read the book you would not know how fantastic the book is. Xx
Oooh I've seen the movie but not read the book - might have to add that one to my list!
I listen to audiobooks or podcasts on projects that I need to concentrate on or music and vlogs on simpler project cutting out etc … so mood based really 😊 like the dress on you but still not converted
Yes it definitely depends what I'm doing and how much I need to concentrate! thank you, it's not for everyone, that's ok!
Your room is so clean!
I listen to tv shows or movies. Just for background noise.
Haha... I promise you my home sewing area doesn't look like this... this one is more of a stage!
I listen to music loudly which usually means I’m on my own as my husband will go find a quiet place to read 😂 I also avoid drinking while I sew as I have both dropped pins in my coffee and ended up dipping material in it by accident! Depending on how focused I get I often forget to eat then realise it’s 4pm 😅
Oh no!!! Drinks can be dangerous near fabric! Love that you blast the music out
Loved this style of video, a "sew with me and chat" ! More please! 😊
I’m so pleased you love it!
I love your sewing videos, they’re great. Fabulous Marnie and it looks great on you 😍 I’ve not made the Marnie as I’m a size 14 (36DD bra but actual 43” bust) and thought I was too busty for it but you’ve set me thinking!🤔
I thought exactly the same but I think it's really cute!
Dress looks great on you Love this video 😊
Thank you so much!
The Marni dress looks lovely on you Hayley x
Thank you so much!
I am a huge audiobook fan - love having a story on 🤩🤩
I need to get more audio books
Fab make, you look great.
Thank you so much
Dress looks great on you! I love the way you talk about feeling the cold and thermal vests. I'm just the same 😂! I've had Love Leggings for some years now and would always buy from them - good quality. Will look at both those books you mentioned too.
Thank you, I love their leggings, have just dug out my fleece lined ones, so good!
Looks lovely Hayley😌x
Thank you! 🥰
Your dress looks lovely, Hayley. I am making a Sabina skirt from the same fabric. I have read both your books and loved them. I like leggings from Seasalt, very good quality clothing!
Ooh that’s going to look so good!!
Totally agree about hemming … worst job, and if it’s got a nice straight hem on a project I’ve made before, I’m hemming that before I made half the bodice 🤣🤣
Yes, if something needs levelling off it sits there waiting for weeks!!
This dress looks lovely on you.
Thank you
Great video love your garment ❤
Just received my November classic box I love the main garment and the monochrome extra.
Have you looked at the booklet that you usually put in? I think the publisher has got it all mixed up.
The luxury box is described as a dress it’s obviously a two piece, the classic box extra in the introduction piece is said to be luxury jersey, in the Named Clothing Kielo Wrap jumpsuit but the picture is a blouse 🤷🏻♀️
I know you cannot do anything now but maybe have a word with your publisher if it keep happening it doesn’t look good for your proof reader.
Tip:: I use sherring elastic for gathering, I sew a line on stitch length 4 then when I attach the gathered part to the ungathered part then after just undo the elastic. I use this method because I’m absolutely useless at gathering this way my gathers are mostly even.
Still love my fabrics though. 😂
Hi Julie, thank you for your lovely comment, so pleased you love everything in the box.
Yes that has been brought to my attention just yesterday - alas, I am the writer, editor, proof reader, publisher so the fault is entirely mine!! The incorrect text was from last month
Love that dress, you look great ❤
Thank you so much 😀
Love it! It looks great on you ❤
Thank you so much
Love it, looks great on you 👏🙂
Thank you!! 😊
The dress looks fab on you. 🎉 I want to make this now with the same fabric in purple that I got in my SHJ box! I loved your pink jumper at the start of the video. Did you make that?
Yay!! It’s so good in this fabric. Yes I did, it’s the Sew House 7 Tabor top
My guide to hemming: nobody is fully symmetrical, and if somebody is trying to look at the hem too closely keep on moving!😂
Haha!!! great guide!
I would watch CZcams videos but the noise of the sewing machine drowns the sound out and I can’t concentrate if I have the volume too loud 🙄😂 I don’t drink anything whilst I’m sewing but I ALWAYS stop around 3pm for Hot Chocolate O’clock 🤷♀️😍 I really like your dress. I’m not a dress wearer but I think I could pull that look off, I may just give it a go 🤔
I think I may need to enforce a 3pm Hot Chocolate rule in my life, love that!
I bloody hate ironing
Haha, I only like it when it's part of sewing!
