    Thank you!!! The very first suggestion - the door latch - was my problem. It took just one tiny adjustment and the night before a Thanksgiving with 14 guests - I’m back in business! What a Godsend. Thank you again.

      Not at all. This is all basic stuff anyone can do with CZcams University. Using a multimeter should be something a normal person should have a vague understanding of to begin with or high school failed you
      I've done all of these things and replaced control boards with absolutely no education in electronics.... It's all dead simple

    • @dontfit6380
      @dontfit6380 Před 2 lety +3

      @@BrokedDownPalace you are absolutely right. I’ve done all these things along with designing and building packaging machines. I quit government school at 16 because I realized it was failing everyone. This is all common simple knowledge that yes anyone should be able to grasp. Unfortunately we live in a day and age where it seems difficult to understand what sex you are.

    I just fixed our Kitchen Aid dishwasher that had been having troubles with the electrical panel going off and on intermittently. The control panel had always been glitchy and we had a repairman come in several times who told us the computer was probably going out and this was when it was barely 2 years old. He told us we would need to replace the machine when it finally died. Well, I took the door off and noticed the connection was loose. So I pushed it back in and the dishwasher panel works perfectly now. I also cleaned the latch too. 🎉

    It probably is the same part. The dial timer. These appliances are cookie cutter technology and manufacture. Also to know, all these machines come with schematic diagrams taped somewhere inside each machine. Pretty cool. I've repaired my washing machine, my clothes dryer and my dishwasher. I'm not an appliance tech.

      Its the best way to see for sure if components are are working or not. You could us a battery a flashlight bulb and some wire to make a continuity tester. Working the switch or placing across a fuse should light up the bulb. If not the circuit is broken. Otherwise you replace components by guessing and costing you more than the price of a cheap volt/ohm meter. If you get one and you don't plan to use it much, be sure to store it without the batteries left in it.

    My old GE GLD4500R00BB wouldn't start reliably. A latch engages the door and presses on plunger to some miro-switches that verify the door is closed before allowing the washer to start. All it took to fix the problem was to bend the latch downward, so it would better engage the micro-switches. No parts for sale web site will tell you the check this because it doesn't sell any new parts!

    I've got the old school dial timer. Ever since this Whirlpool machine started acting up, I was smelling something. It wasn't tripping the breaker. I could get it to run for a second by unplugging it and then plugging it back in to the wall socket. I think the smell is a poor connection. It's working and I didn't do anything! Sounds logical. I'm going after the door wiring at the hinge.
