They punished the student because they knew it was gonna go on the Internet then court.
The school punishing her just made it 100% worse, this probably means they would lose money due to students leaving or not joining. So if they "knew" it was going to court, they wouldn't have punished her

Keegan Gidley they would never believe students I'm a student my teachers have lots of things us and they get away with it it's unfair and its makes us not want to learn and be a school as it's not safe and fair us
I had this one terrible teacher in 4th grade. I tried telling my parents about her but they thought I was overreacting. Then one day I broke and cried for 2 hours straight, keep in mind I was 9 or 10 at the time. Only after that did they actually believe me.
Turns out what she was doing violated school policy so she got demoted to teacher's assistant the next year.
nicole robinson is it on ur channel?
Keegan Gidley right
I’m a retired teacher and a classroom should NOT be a place where privacy is promoted. Classrooms should have cameras rolling at all times. If you’re doing your job you shouldn’t be afraid to have camera rolling. Children need to be protected and parents should have the right to know what is going on
Plus it is also very helpful for teacher’s protection too.
False allegations have hurt many a teacher’s reputation.
So cameras in classrooms should be a must!
Perfectly said. Teachers and children should be protected. One bad teacher gives the rest a bad name as well.
And a teacher being drove to protect themselves from say high school kid antagonizing them should be considered as well.
@ dona' little fawn
Camera footage isn’t the only reason why phones are normally banned during school hours. It’s also b/c it can be used for other inappropriate stuff. Like adult videos, cyber bullying, distraction from their academics, and cheating on tests. If she’s told not to record, she needs to follow school policy! Period!!
Yes for real, you said my words.
Torey Hayden did this all the time. Great books she wrote.
👍 maybe this is the Answer, Good Teacher's shouldn't have a problem with that
The school administrators believe that recording a teacher bullying a kid is worse than the actual bullying that caused the recording to be made in the first place.
that mom is raising a good kid, that teacher needs to be fired
So does the principal
But the problem is they're not! I don't want to be a Teacher! Especially these Days !
Teachers don't get fired on the stop unless they do something like really bad, this prob isn't enough
She did and the suspension was lifted on the girl. The principal tried to hide and not answer emails from the school administrators.
Period
They never believe students over teachers!

Izzi Myz ikr like they never listen to what kids have to say
This sweet kiddo essentially stood up for another student who was being bullied, and for that the school bullied her.
In the teacher's judgement, the teacher was motivating the student. Different kids need different kinds of motivation. That kid recording probably didn't have the same temperament as the kid she thought was being bullied. She may have ruined an opportunity for the teacher to reach the kid in a way that would only work for that kid.
@@fionamunro3381 Really? Think about it, whose judgement is more likely to fit the situation, a teacher who chose that profession to help kids or a kid who whose goal is to "get the teacher in trouble." I'd bet two bits that the kid didn't record out of altruism but instead did it because the teacher has been correcting her bad behavior and she got mad about it.
@@joeshithragman3264The mental gymnastics is crazy in you, apply for the Olympics. But seriously the amount of creative liberties you took in order to make the teacher seem "justifiable" (even in your imagined context this makes no sense) is bonkers, literally all your evidence is "they are a teacher so they would never".
@@BookedNotes Gee, maybe coaches who don't yell at one kid should never yell at another kid. Reality of teacher/student relationships must evade you. Bless your heart.
"She thought she was doing the right thing." She was doing the right thing. Sometimes the right thing breaks rules put there to protect bad people.
Depends on the situation. So all we know, the kid was probably being defiant and the teacher must’ve rightfully scolded her and gave her a fair consequence. We don’t know the full story.
@@amylee8969You don't insult an 11 year old when you're a professional with power over them. It's an abuse of power and unprofessional.
@@amylee8969 And exactly what evidence do you have for this situation in which the student was "defiant" that you made up? None... Do you always make things up and believe yourself? Good luck with that mentality working out for you.

Students can be using phones for other reasons like cheating on tests, watching adult content videos, cyber bullying their classmates, and recoding other students, and being distracted away from their academics.
We just came from a pandemic that caused learning loss, now more than ever, kids need to focus less on making tik tok videos in class and more time on learning reading, writing, and math skills that they fell behind.

Sometimes doing the right thing costs but it speaks to the wonderful person that you are.❤
You do realize that students bullying other kids and staff members all the time right. Now a days, a bratty kid can literally call an admin the “F-word”, and very little is done about it.
Kids and their parents need to be held accountable too! Babying them is setting them up for failure.
As someone who was mercilessly bullied throughout my grade school career, I can atest to what a teacher bullying you feels like.
I've had a good few and it's makes you feel a different kind of hopelessness verses being bullied by your peers. Like there's no where to turn at that point... since these are the people who should be protecting you.
School suspended her because they don’t like that she’s standing up for herself and classmates
@jessica Cloud9 The teacher was continuously bullying her students. Let alone the fact that the girl got suspended for trying to do the right thing.
But aren't they doing the same thing. They must have cameras. They are videoing kids all day, but yet when the little girl records the conversation, not the teacher he conversation, she get in trouble. They are just stupid and hypocritical

And the recording is NOT against the law: the expectation is clearly stated in the name PUBLIC SCHOOL!!!
The student who was “bullied” by the teacher was clearly a trouble maker who was defiant and probably bullied other kids.

@@amylee8969 no respectable teacher worth a damn would ever bully or yell at a student PERIOD!
I had a 4th grade teacher I just hated going to her classroom. Math was my least favorite subject & I didn't understand a lot of it. This teacher didn't hide who her favorites were. They were the smart kids that never asked questions and always raised their hands. She made it obvious she had NO patience for me. It was my most miserable year of school, by far. The following year I had the sweetest, kindest, most patient teacher I had ever had. Best school year ever & I actually enjoyed learning math. Won second place in the class spelling bee that year with my best friend, who won first place. Those 2 years of grade school were like night and day, different. Many people have no idea how much a teacher can influence how you learn or don't learn. How miserable they can make learning for you. Many teachers may have good intentions but, truly should not be allowed to teach children anything because they should not be teachers!
@ Wyonative08
What kind of classroom environment was your 4th grade class? We’re most of the kids difficult and descriptive? Cause if so, that could be why she was frustrated, stressed, and favored the kids who were well-behaved. No teacher likes to deal with difficult kids just like how no customer service worker likes dealing with a Karen.
@@amylee8969 That's not true. No teacher goes into a classroom believing that all kids are going to be college bound sweethearts. Unless there is relevant case law specific to classrooms in the state, I think that is a dubious argument.
Reflected Miles Fool, not everything is about laws. There are also rules and legal agreements and contracts. Read about copyright laws before opening your filthy mouth, idiot.
No teacher should ever talk to a student that way.
That teacher should be punished.
What a smart, acountable kid. She's gonna be great human being while she grows up.
She's a great person already. Unlike the grown ups in her school.

@Cody Actually the student could say I will be glad to introduce you to her.
Or better than your mother or wife. That would have been Savage.👌😂
Its bad to make comparison about others

LMAO!!!!!!
Since when did public school staff think they worked at a private school?
What a teaching moment for this student.
Threats are illegal too.
IKR
Death threats are illegal
OHHHHHHHHHHH
Actually they aren't really that illegal they are like a bit illegal but eh ok
YEAH!!!
I'm so confused. How is bullying a child and telling them that you're going to drop them, LEGAL, but recording the adult saying that to the child is ILLEGAL??
IM SO LOST ABOUT THIS
Welcome to the land of law and politics
Most states require consent from the other party to be recorded OR there needs to be a disclaimer of some sort most often in the form of a sign saying you could potentially be recorded. Otherwise any evidence obtained is obtained illegally and therefore not used. They would have been better off getting all the kids accounts on the incident and take it from there. Not saying its right just helping clarify things.
@@jimmy-jermz4469, so the George Floyd recordings were illegal? How about recordings of someone breaking into your house? Did you ask the burglar if you can record him first? 😅
@@bryaneverett9850 right on!

Preach "see something, say something" but then punish the innocent attempt of an 11 year old to "say something"?
Talk about sending mixed messages to the school children 🙄
I got bullied by a teacher in 3rd grade. Saw him at an Arbys years later when I was 18. Good times ! Attention all teachers, little boys grow up to be big boys ! Watch out teach.
That’s heartbreaking. She did the right thing by exposing this bully. Sounds like the school is just trying to cover it up.
The school is now the bully!
She was fired. No covering up is being done. take off your tinfoil hat
@@Wylie288 Please provide a link as evidence that is true. And when did they fire this teacher, after public pressure forced them to? Also, when a young child is suspended for 5 days that sends an extremely strong message to the children that reporting teachers is not permitted.

Recording a government employee while they're on the job is never illegal.
Try doing that in most courtrooms today. Doesn't fly.
@@leelitchfield8370 she was not in a court room ,though they should be open to public recording too, just because they choose to enforce injustice does not make it right or legal
@@newdogatplay Except for family court, to protect the children. Those are invariably closed courts, just the prosecution, defense, witnesses and family members. Oh. And the Jury. But yeah. Other courts? Cameras the whole 9 yards.
@@leelitchfield8370 in ANY court room unless it is a closed hearing (and even then sometimes) people may record if they are involved somehow with the case. the courts themselves are recording for records which maybe obtained as public record. the records being available publicly therefor there is no expectation of privacy.

Funny how the anti bullying goes out the window when it’s proven that it’s one of them that is guilty.
Bloody hypocrites
Jig a boo justice- only in the USA
Especially when the teachers are doing the bullying. Trust me, I've had two and one of them doubles as a Guidance Counselor.
That's why I don't ask for help. I just deal with it myself. If I have to I 'bully' them back, if you will (I never have had to do something of the sort as forced karma, and I hope I never have too), self defense or tell them off verbally. If that doesn't work. Oh well. I'll work it out 🤷♀️
Bet she votes democrat
Threatening students with threats of beating should be removed from teaching forever.
When I was in 8th grade my teacher pushed me into the door as she was sending me to the office. I was a problem child and pissed her off daily on purpose. I told the principal EXACTLY what happened and I was called a liar. She’s hurt several more students since and as far as I know still works there.
If you were causing trouble, then you were clearly asking for it. It was your responsibility to follow rules and respect authority or you suffer the consequences.

I absolutely agree. This student should be commended for her actions, not punished.
The same energy as "You filmed a kid getting hit and abused by their parents in their house but since it's private property and they didnt consent your the one getting arrested"
There is no acknowledgement that the teacher should not have been talking to her student like that. How is there an expectation of privacy in the classroom? I do not think that is right. If a child said anything they would be held accountable. I think accountability should extend to everyone.
