Double award students write 1 paper for each of the three sciences while triple award students write two for each. Do you think standard A levels from UK and easier then International A Levels or are they both similar in terms of marking and difficulty?

    • @teachingpartner
      @teachingpartner  Před rokem

      Standard A levels from the UK and International A Levels are similar in terms of marking and difficulty. However, there may be some variations between them.
      Grading and Marking
      In terms of grading and marking, both standard A levels from the UK and International A Levels follow a similar approach. They typically use a grading scale, such as A* to E or numerical grades, to assess students' performance. The grading criteria and standards are generally set at a comparable level, ensuring consistency and fairness across different examination boards.
      Syllabus and Curriculum
      One difference between standard A levels and International A Levels is the syllabus and curriculum. International A Levels are designed to be more globally recognized and relevant beyond the UK, whereas standard A levels are primarily focused on the UK education system. The content and topics covered in the syllabus may vary slightly, reflecting these different contexts and requirements.
      Difficulty Level
      In terms of difficulty, both standard A levels and International A Levels are challenging and rigorous qualifications. They require students to demonstrate a deep understanding of the subject matter, critical thinking skills, and the ability to apply knowledge to solve complex problems. The difficulty level of the exams is typically maintained to ensure that the qualifications hold a high standard of academic achievement.
      Consider Individual Factors
      It's important to note that the perception of difficulty can vary depending on individual factors such as personal strengths, learning styles, and prior knowledge. Some students may find certain subjects or exam formats more challenging than others, regardless of whether they are taking standard A levels or International A Levels.

    Just got admitted to edexcel AS level and its different from the curriculum i studied before. I wanna ask memorization important for edexcel? Especially chemistry cuz topics are written in a way just for explanation to thw student to solve stuffs, not somwthint u should memorize

    • @teachingpartner
      @teachingpartner  Před rokem

      In the Edexcel examination, memorization alone does not suffice. This assessment primarily focuses on problem-solving and concept-based learning. Moreover, Edexcel provides formulas during the exam, and in certain instances, the names of compounds or uses of metals must be memorized. Therefore, while memorization is essential in some cases, the emphasis lies on developing problem-solving skills and understanding concepts.

      Both Cambridge and Edexcel offer scholarships for exceptional performance. However, the specific details about the likelihood of receiving a fully funded scholarship for a UK university based on A-level results from either Cambridge or Edexcel are not explicitly mentioned in any policy. It's important to note that scholarship opportunities can vary between universities and may depend on a range of factors, including academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and individual university policies.
      To gain a clearer understanding of the scholarship opportunities available through Cambridge and Edexcel, it would be beneficial to directly contact the universities or examination boards for comprehensive information regarding fully funded scholarships based on A-level results. Additionally, reaching out to the specific UK universities of interest for further details on their scholarship programs and eligibility criteria would provide valuable insights into the potential for securing a fully funded scholarship.
      If you have any further questions or need assistance with scholarship applications, feel free to ask for more information.

      The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE is equivalent to the Cambridge IGCSE qualification, providing a broader perspective of the subject matter studied .
      The Edexcel International GCSE Chemistry specification was first taught in 2017, with the first external assessment in 2019
      Study Materials for Edexcel Chemistry:
