I don't think there professional reporters or journalist etc there just people who can speak both languages employed to do this work I assume. Hence the tone and the way they speak to people I've often thought with these videos it comes of as rude and condescending.

Regardless of one's social status, it is always a good thing to plant vegetables, fruit trees and other plants. When the rich people do this, it not only benefit themselves but others as well, but if all poor people will value the importance of planting, there would be no hunger in our society.

My husband is from the Philippines, Going there 20 years ago depressed me for months. Seeing children and animals literally starving on the street. I rescued two dogs, one had full Distemper and I had to have him put down. I tried to adopt a street child but the government wouldn't let me. I'm TRULY grateful to Mark and his co-workers for this ministry. They are actually helping people as opposed to some cushy non-profit that doesn't really do anything.

I watched a few episodes with Cesar interviewing and honestly, he is really annoying. The way the questions are worded is very insensitive and inappropriate. I understand you want to be direct and educate them especially emphasizing on "family planning" BUT I am sure there is a better way to deliver your point. The people in these episodes are already suffering and facing daily challenges so there is no need to degrade them or talk down.
Can you get another person to interview? I cringe at his interviewing "skills". 😒

12K pesos is like $250 USD! Considering they make "less" than a dollar a day, it's like a years pay for some of these poor families. They should be good for a while. Another family saved! Folks if you've got only $5 or $20 or more you can spare to give please do, look at how many lives are being saved here!

Does anyone else think these families feel shame during the interview process? I often watch these and find them condescending the way they talk to the families it could be the translation but they seem a little harsh in the way they question them.

There's nothing wrong with a little criticism to help you improve on your interviewing skills. You have to consider if your questions and remarks are appropriate. Just because you're helping another family doesnt entitle you to talk to them in that manner. Just some advice for future interviews.

A Filipina lady and my best friend were married and returned to the states. Over the years I became good friends with both and they were also God parents to my youngest child. The lady once shared with me that if she didn't eat rice she would feel ill and sometimes woke in the night to make herself some rice. Her family was Poor in the Philippines and she grew up in the province. Rice really is a staple and huge part of their lives.
Sana may magsabi kay Bidong na dagdagan ng tanim niya ng papaya, saging, kamoteng kahoy, kalamansi at malunggay kung wala pa. Bukod sa mga self-supporting na halaman ang mga ito, malaking dagdag sa pangangailangan nila sa nutrition nila.
