Landing I will not forget - XC Junkies Bassano 2024

- So far the, my most demanding landing ever. Bassano 2024. Usual xc to the west under 1000m cloud base. Once thermals stopped working I went too low to climb up again. Luckily I made it . Could have been a bad one.

It's crazy how you can't see some of those powerlines, only the poles sticking up. Definitely gotta watch out for those!

in the end well done in a tricky situation, nature+humans make for some really shitty conditions (bad wind/conditions and powerlines)

Yeah I was down there last week, couldn't believe how low pilots were prepared to make the transitions. Well done for a well executed landing. When in the video had you chosen the field?
@@crickhowellparagliding7440 I could see it in the distance quite early and I was heading towards probably after first 30seconds of the video. My plan was to stay as high as possible while search for another one on my way, safe enough to park asap. I could not see any good though.
It would be useful to see the 10-15 minutes of the flight before to see what the original decision was that lead you to this - glad you are ok !
I might make a video to show it all. The day was not great to fly over no landing zone . Too low cloudbase . I decided to come back to the take off and thermals just switched off . I scratched along the ridges for too long instead of going to the flatlands while I could . My fault . Having no option I had to stick to the valley where landing was very limited.

Why exactly will you never forget that landing? I’m confused.
It is not safe to fly in close proximity to buildings , wires , trees and terrain with no landing options or very restricted. This part of terrain I flew is classed as no landing zone .

@@KacperFlyParaglider I have had a Thailand at February a similair Situation.heavy sinking Rates even at füll Speed and quiet turbulent. I couldn't reach the Flats and have to approach a fucking small space in the Jungle with real Tricky approaching🤣 I have needed all my experience to land, and of course real good luck in top 😉✌️

Na egzaminie na pilota paralotni trzeba wylądować w bardzo podobnym wymiarami obszarze a to są podstawy. Pozdrawiam i życzę postępu 🤘😈
Przypuszczam, że nie trzeba lecieć nad drutami , drzewami , budynkami w dolinie i szukać miejsca do lądowania w nieznanym terenie, żeby zdać egzamin chyba że to jakaś specjalna szkoła. Posiadam licencję pilota i po wielu sezonach pierwszy raz miałem taką sytuację . Ja się tu nie chwalę tylko pokazuje czym grozi utrata wysokości w strefie bez miejsc do lądowania. Miałem szczęście, że się udało . Nie chodziło o miejsce tylko znalezienie i dotarcie do niego bezpiecznie. Nie chodzi o postęp tylko podejmowanie decyzji w odpowiednim czasie . Nie zawsze jest tak jak zaplanujemy. Tego nie uczą na egzaminie na pilota tylko zdobywamy przez doświadczenie . Pozdrawiam i życzę zawsze dobrych decyzji bo widzę podstawy już są .

Bassano jest super . Ja trafiłem na tydzień inwersji na 1000m. I tak było super . Może jeszcze Lijak w maju się uda żeby wykorzystać wiosenną termikę.

And this is one of the many reasons why i don't like flying in Bassano... There are sooo many better and more beautiful places to fly AND to land
