March 2024. Who’s here still trying to figure out life?!?!
First I thought i would not make this far and second I found out everything's a learning experience through life and all these experiences you get you can help other people with it
Yep🤚
@@mattgalley8587 are you Generation X
This literally seems like yesterday damn the time flies by so fast.
I didn't know she was that little she's like a fun size snicker
What a blessing being a teenager in the 90s. Alanis, counting crows, pearl jam, REM, what a time.
Hi I recommend an indie song & video called 'Where I Come From' By Robert Nix
Minus counting crows …. Not as great as it’s peers
Sure was
Hey, it was ok being in my forties either .
Wasn't it a great time to be alive.
None of the cunts born today will ever know !
Listening in 2024.
What amazing example of pure talent, doesn’t need to get half naked on stage, choreographed dance moves or have scantily clad backup dancers.
Alanis just relies on her songwriting, her amazing voice and her awesome vibe.
Sooooo true.. ✌🏼
Sometimes these songs hit harder now than they did back when they came out
They sure do thrumy..Not only that Alanis is the best therapist that I never had!
@@willharris6492that clever my friend. 🖖
Right on
So much.
The people in the industry have insights into the future, that’s why we should pay attention to these stars that are called crazy conspiracists

❤🙏👍🥳
Euuuuuu kkkk exatamente no dia 08/04/2024 ❤ amo as músicas dela até hj 😍
Still vibing to the song in 24
She's Gold , so why fcking not . Fck the world .
Yes... You live you learn 🔥🔥🔥💯
My cousin was a huge Alanis Morissette fan. She had dreads and was a free spirit. A beautiful young woman who cared more about the earth and others than anything. She was 23 when she passed from leukemia.. I always wonder what she’d be doing today. Hearing this was a wonderful trip down memory lane.
😢
❤❤❤❤❤

❤
This song hits different now that we're adults.
We live, we learn, don’t we folks ?. Thank you Alanis xxxx
The album of my teenage years "jagged little pill".... Still sounds as great now I'm a 41 year old woman.
Same, and I'm 38
@@ironman2326 there's not many albums I can listen to all the way through. Loads of albums I love but just haven't got a full album of songs that I don't skip. This is one of the rare ones that I played through to its death and still got and still play lol. R.E.M "automatic for the people" and guns n roses "appitite for destruction", are only another two I can think of I had, still got and rinsed lol and still play. Mad though I had the cassette versions of R.E.M and guns n roses which I then also bought on CD. The teenage years of no worries. Take me back.
@@welshlassie1421 Same! I played her album all the way through- hers and Green Day dookie
Be 41 in July and I TOTALLY agree.
I am 70 and Love Alanis Morissette>>>!!!!
Jagged little pill was a phenomenal album and way ahead of its time.
wenaldy it sure was pretty lady
Classic Album .i even have the Acoustic version 😁
i think it's more a timeless album than being ahead of it's time, definitely one to take to the desert island
It can’t be defined by time. It is a classic that can be appreciated during any era.
Jagged little pill
Most of life's experiences are actually lessons 💯 "The world is a stage, and life is a classroom."
What a pretty breathtaking woman ,hello my darling ?
If you are here in 2024, you are heavily old as 40's like me😁😂
I'm almost 42 and I didn't get into Alantis Music until much much later but I love it.
Vou fazer agora em abril 38 já kkkkkk
about to be 46, haha
50 years old ❤

I miss the simplicity of the 90's before phones and social media made everyone zombies. We used to hang out with friends and enjoy a new album release and it was the most exciting thing in our life!
Honestly social media have divide us. I'm 30 years old now and I'm convinced the world was a better place before internet and social media. 90s music was the best and Alanis the voice of a generation
@@samuelbello1718 I couldn't agree more.
For sure.. You didn't know about the hidden gems on an album other than the singles released, until you bought the album
I remember in the 90's when the internet was starting to take off and my mom would say that "it's going to be the ruination of the world" and me being just a teenager then laughed her off, but now I'm 36 and I clearly see she is 100% right.
@@mikebrooks1620 is scares me that the generation we are raising now, who basically can't write by hand and can't spell without a computer helping them are going to be having their own children one day. I don't know how they will function in life when most of them aspire to get rich as a CZcamsr. 🙄
As a male teen, I never really cared about Alanis Morissette but coming back in my late 30s I can really appreciate the music a lot more. She is a creative genius.
Same here
You're not the only one. My older sister used to jam her music all the time when she traveled for softball. I definitely have respect for her now. Very creative with her lyrics.
Sh yt dude. im 61 she rocks.
Better late than never🔥
Yess to give a 2nd look after years to art, books, movies is good idea 🤝

You love, you learn
You cry, you learn
You lose, you learn

You scream, you learn
Just keep learning!
screaming is for giant spiders and giant centipedes only
This sh*t raised me as a teen. I appreciate all the music currently, but damn I feel bad for anyone that missed out on this era in music
She was 20 when this album came out. Here I am 37 and can't put 2 words together. Way to go Alanis .. you deserve the hall of fame. You're a legend. And this song is a lesson in itself.
And that's Taylor Hawkins!!!!!!
she was 21 but still yeah she deserves rock and roll hall of fame
DEEP
And Fiona Apple at 19!
@@victoriajean-pierre3518 what? lol
Jagged Little Pill album could come out today and still be a massive hit that's how ahead of it's time and classic the album is
It wouldn't. This generation don't appreciate good music.
I agree this song is great for every day listening
I want to agree but children these days don't understand or like quality life lesson music
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!😁😁
@@harborsadolescentfears9322 very true! 90's music is lost on this generation!
I was in my 20s when jagged little pill came out, I truly believe it was a blessing from God to experience life in the 80s/90s, Damnit I'd give anything to go back 😢
Same here 👍
Ditto👍🏼
Me too ! I want to go back just for a day
And I wasnt even born
At least I loved the 2000s
I miss these days. I’m glad I get to relive them through her music ❤
Something I love about Alanis Morissette is that she's a fairly plain woman who bucked the trend and won purely on the basis of talent and her ability to speak to the heart. Truly an awesome person.
ThatGuy She is herself which is unique.
I think she's amazingly talented & gorgeous. Watch head over feet video... No makeup just stunning & yes you can tell that dave Colier really broke that heart... He don't seem worth it but certainly made a great muse for alanis
ThatGuy plain? With that voice...anything but.
@John Quick seriously!!! Those eyes alone!!! Anything but plain! I actually feel in love with her before I discovered her as a singer when she played God in Dogma. I was like "who is that??? I'm in love!!!"
Um?
I'm guessing you only know about her second music career, cos if you saw her in her reproductive prime? Holy damn.
Lyrics--
I recommend getting your heart trampled on to anyone
I recommend walking around naked in your living room
Swallow it down (what a jagged little pill)
It feels so good (swimming in your stomach)
Wait until the dust settles
You live, you learn
You love, you learn
You cry, you learn
You lose, you learn
You bleed, you learn
You scream, you learn
I recommend biting off more then you can chew to anyone
I certainly do
I recommend sticking your foot in your mouth at any time
Feel free
Throw it down (the caution blocks you from the wind)
Hold it up (to the rays)
You wait and see when the smoke clears
You live, you learn
You love, you learn
You cry, you learn
You lose, you learn
You bleed, you learn
You scream, you learn
Wear it out (the way a three-year-old would do)
Melt it down (you're gonna have to eventually anyway)
The fire trucks are coming up around the bend
You live, you learn
You love, you learn
You cry, you learn
You lose, you learn
You bleed, you learn
You scream, you learn

Boy the 80's & 90's were the last fun decades. The last 20 years haven't been. When are we going to get that fun decade back? I am desperately waiting and hopeful.
Pure talent.
No sexy scenes.
No flashy material stuff
No inappropriate content
Just pure talent unleashed.
"I, recommend walking around naked in your living room, yeah...." and the part in that other song of her giving head in a movie theatre. Nothing inappropriate....

I can honestly say that Jagged Little Pill is the best alternative rock album I've ever heard. This album is brilliance defined. This album is in my all time top ten along with albums like Stankonia by OutKast, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and the Spirit Room by Michelle Branch.

@@chriss8970 yeah he was the drummer for alanis before getting the call off dave grohl… I only just found this out myself a few weeks ago!
OMG, I didn't know that! Thank you :)
I wonder if that part of the video is a callback to Alanis on YCDTOTV in the 1980s.
This song is like looking into a mirror and having the most honest positive pep talk to accept life and move on and of course learn.
I think in the video, the idea is she learned to just be herself and do what she wants, no matter what. Despite all the things she's going through and experiencing, she learns to just be herself and not care what anyone thinks of her. I really think she is a genius, but I never saw her iq tests. This album is certainly music genius, though.

1987! She’s phenomenal! ❤ this was such a huge part of my childhood
This album has never lost its magic. Such honest lyrics and so many great melodies. One of the best 90s albums. Alanis is a great singer and I’ve always loved her personality. Also loved her role in Dogma.
I was born in 2004 but god i wish i grew up in the 90's with this music. I discovered Alanis a few weeks ago and she is honestly phenomenal
I was born In 96 I still remember 2001 it's when I started to see the world 2001 basically
Good music is timeless. The year you were born doesn't matter. Take it from someone that had similar feelings when this song came out and a similar age (I was envying my aunt for being born at a time when animation was just blossoming as an industry. I was 14 or 15.), it doesn't matter in the end. What matters is how much you enjoy it. Though if you like songs of that era, if memory serves, what was popular was Hootie and the Blowfish's "Only Wanna Be With You", Natalie Merchant's "Wonder", No Doubt's... well everything from the album Tragic Kingdom, Blues Traveler's "Run Around", Spin Doctor's "Two Princes", Green Day's "Basket Case". Hanson's "Mmmbop", Spice Girl's "Wannabe", Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise", Third Eye Blind's "Semi-charmed Kind of Life.", Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn", The Proclaimer's "I'm Gonna Be" that's about all I can think of off the top of my head. Keep in mind I'm not saying they're all good or similar, but that's what was played a lot on radios and stuff. I'm avoiding the really overplayed stuff like Brittney Speares, N'Sync and Backstreet boys and the Friend's theme "I'll be there for you".
Same here! I was born on 2002 and now I'm rocking this whole album at my room. This is pure talent and amazingly phenomenal.
I was 8 when this CD came out and it's just as good as it was in 1995!
Music is timeless. Enjoy it whenever because it’ll always be here for us to enjoy.
The meaning of life is awareness. The purpose of life is to experience. I think if we can truly integrate these ideas into our lives, we will live with pure joy. Anyone have thoughts about this?
yes it was a nineties music industry feminist pysop. I lived with a girlfriend who used to bump this kind of vibe all the time. shes divorced in her 50s and no man wants her because she chose grrrl power life style. i really like this song though im not gonna lie its very seductive.
Nothing short of a timeless masterpiece
I love❤ you Alanis Morissette. I'm 34 and I listed to your songs as a kid. Thanks
I'm stuck in 90's music, but you know... I'm not going to leave.
I’m stuck in 95-96....sweeeet

Get out before it's too late! I been stuck in the 90's since the 90's!
Neither will I, I'll always go back to my happy, carefree 90, s. ❤️❤️👌
In the late 90s and early 2000's I was a kid and I'm glad that I grew up listening good music cuz nowadays I can't even call music to all the shit that they play on the radio!

Alanis is the epitome of cool in the 90's...😁
I think being cool is timeless. I certainly think she's badass af. Such a nonchalant, genuine soul
My favourite song Alanis morrisete
From been a kid stressing at school, to a student stressing about life to an adult stressing about work and life this song has been there all the time. Absolutely love it!
time to make a choice and stop stressing, you chose to stress, you can always chose to let go and go with the flow. Works a lot better than stress.
😅🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
2024 still slaps. Testament to her talents
I'm a 40 yr old bloke and have no shame in saying this song (and JLP as a whole) was not only a hugely formative part of my adolescence, but this song in particular is now a huge anthem in my life in general. It's taken me 40 years to understand the words she wrote when she was what, 21/22?! Crazy crazy talent I was fortunate to hear when it was released. I hail Alanis and this album as one of THE best singer-songwriters' outputs of my generation. AM and JLP will live forever, just like all of the other greats
Amen to that brother. I miss the mid- to late 90s music.
@@Tam0de great wasn't it. I loved the early 90s too, Blind Melon etc but the mid-late 90s was an amazing time to be a teenager

The nostalgia and the inspiration....love it
Same here man I’m 38 I’ve loved this album since my dad bought it in 96. I’ve been saying for years she was so young back then but a good grasp of life the first song of this album all I really want has been my favorite for years
I cant believe its been 20 years!! This was the soundtrack to my high school years. Such a powerful album, and from a woman, which at the time, was a great achievement. Full of angst and raw emotion, it touched upon all that listens, as I did, on repeat, as we fumbled our way through first love, first heartbreak, betrayal, revelations, ambivalence and so much more. Still at the top of my list of favorite albums!!!
listen to Margaret urlich....from new Zealand...same era,I think you would like..
right
Jagged Little Pill made me the man I am today!:-)
Just about any of Alanis's songs could be made into big screen movies.
This seems mostly perfect for drama.
"Full of angst and raw emotion" - I'm with you. Add a bit of jealousy and love and Alanis hit every emotion - still does.
The ending when she lets out a soft wail always gets me emotional. You live, you learn, even if deep down it may always still hurt a bit. Some things are just hard to forget, no matter how much time passes. Love you Alanis
Ironically im still listening in april 2024😂

shes a witch mate lol
It blows my mind that she wrote this when she was 19.
EXACTLY!

@ryan williams only 1 way to find out 😉
Oh yea
@ryan williams that was me when I started to listen Britney Spears, the I realized I was gay. However, Alanis is the real Queen of 90's
Listening to this at 47 years old versus 17 hits a lot different 😊
I envy those who were a teenager in the 90's...
Things seemed much more simple and the nostalgia I feel from something I didn't experience first hand is somehow strong.
It was a great time to be alive, it's hard to describe it. But, we truly mean it was a much simpler and great time to live through. Listening to this makes it that much meaningful. Most of us here wish we could go back and relive the moments.
@@elguero89 That's just it....more simple and not as much noise. I'm 27 so I grew up in the late nineties. Just wish we didn't have the kind of access to technology that we have, it's so much.
I don’t mind the access as much as the pressure put on people to access it tbh

This takes me back a few years . I was 19 when this came out. I'm now 47 . Once in a lifetime you are lucky enough to come across a singer who has a very unique voice ,who can absolutely belt it out. I was lucky enough to have grown up both with Alanis and Anastasia. Take me back to the middle 90's early 2000's.
Man.. I am a metal head.. I still find myself listening to this haha. I grew up on this shit.
I firstly knew this song when I was 14 years old. Today, I'm 35 and I realize this song helped me alot in my personal growth. I never knew before how music could help people in their lives.
Hey I've got a new channel. That is just the reason why I made it, to help the world. Please Check it out.
@mabarker72 I'll be 39 in a couple of months and I sang most of her songs in this album with a band at a club ( I was subbing for the lead vocals who got sick) . "You oughta know" is my favorite. Good times! ❤️
I was 28 when I first saw this video and her album. Now I am 52 and still like it.
Few singers convey as much emotion as Alanis does. what a powerful chorus
I am 58 yes old. I’ve never loved Alani’s music until recently while going thru a BITCH of a break up. I have a whole new appreciation for this woman/artist. She sings what she feels and feels deeply. I am so impressed with her gut level articulation of grief, rage, outrage, pain and revenge fueled feelings. Thank you A
When she came out in the 90s ooh man what a hit now I'm 48 and this stuff brings back alot of memories flood of memories back then everything was different.
Read my comment if you will.
She's, SO pretty! 😃
i think this might be my #1 song for the 90's.
Brings back so many memories man. This was my late nineties and early two thousands. I was 17 when it came out and I’m 44 and still love it.
I Used to love watching this video. Back when MTV was like the radio, but with music videos. Even though we have CZcams and we can watch whatever we want, I still miss having a channel. You can just flip on and see random stuff learn about who’s coming out with what. When music was art.
Alanis was and still is my Queen! Now at 42, listening her songs brings me back to 90's, when we had some much fun going to concerts, there was such a variety of good music (Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in chains, The Cranberries, Faith no more, Rage against the machine... these were The times...feeling nostalgic now. :)
Yep! I feel ya. Awesome bands list there

Don't get me started on this song or the album that it stems from. Just stunning. Thank-you Alanis Morrisette.
My daughter is 17 and I want to introduce her to this album.
I honestly feel that Alanis is hands down the best song writer of the 90's
The appeal still remains live to millions and it will continue to remain so for many more years for its impacts on the untouched mind.
I recommend that everybody listens to this song.
I missed the good old days when we had Yahoo before Google and You Tube and we used to go to our friend's house when we called them and see how they are doing instead of texting them. It's best to see a person face to face and we all have to grapple through life before it is our time to go. I will always love you all to the ends of the earth and God will definitely make this world a better place when he returns. This is our kingdom come and his will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
What a great women... Honest beautiful and not afraid to tell it like it is!!!! Awesome one of a kind voice !!!!
Saw the documentary this weekend. I've been playing the album all morning. Jagged Little Pill, has to be one of the greatest albums. Every song takes me back! What a story Alanis has.
Vives, aprendes
Amas, aprendes
Te caes, aprendes
Lloras, aprendes
Ries, aprendes
Que razón tiene la canción
She got me through my late teens. I miss real songwriters like her.❤
Back before it took 15 people to right a song, that’s why it’s so different, emotional, aggressive because it’s there pain, there words!
If you’re someone that appreciates great lyrics, check out Linda Perry from 4 non blondes. She writes for other artists like pink.
this helped me as much at 10 years old and even into my 40 I still relate to this that's an amazing artist.
CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS ONE REMASTERED. THE 240P VERSION HAS BEEN UP HERE FOR 11 YEARS TOO LONG!
this is in 1080p though?
@@ashw7372 This video was in 240p a couple of days ago, now we can enjoy it up to 2160p. Now that's what I call a huge improvement! The videos from 'Jagged Little Pill' have been remastered up to 4K. Video announcement from Rhino: czcams.com/video/cO45gKYRui8/video.html
@@ashw7372 it wasn't 2 days ago 😜
Omg... I was so used to the old version.. When I saw Alanis crearly was like... "whattt?" 😂
@@solangiesway I prefer the 240p😴
Whenever bullshit gets too much in my head and I start to feel down or panic about money or shit...I listen to this song, and remember mistakes are meant to be made from time to time...and to just chiiiiiiiiilllll out :)
Sometimes I just stick my cold hand down there like Al Bundy. And then I sniff it like how Molly Shannon does. I prob fd that up but whateves
Word
You go girrrlllll..... The world of respect to you..... I agree 100% :)
You love you learn you live you learn
The whole Jagged Little Pill album and before that Crazy (IMHO one of her best songs) were songs I listened to when I enlisted and got out of the Military, I always found her bitchy/sassy sound in Jagged little pill amusing and magnetic, but the lyrics didn't speak to me until my divorce. Thank you Alanis.
Just love this album never get tired of listening to Jagged Little Pill!
me too! this lady is so awesome and talented :-)
This album is timeless.
Katherine Earp one of the best of the 90s.
Katherine Earp:... definitely! In my top 5 90s albums 👍👍👍
I've recently been working with 2 female vocalist and I tell them, Alanis is "Iconic"... not "Ironic" ... just sing it... 😁
