Also. Woad = Mustard greens. Incredibly versatile herb no proper kitchen should be without. Especially fresh and growing.

Yeah the more I look at it the more it feels like it belongs in the kitchen. I'll probably move it to a spot on the back counter to keep the island open for food prep.

That support beam over your window is called a "lintel," by the way. Learned about these when my IRL house decided to start falling apart a couple months ago... 🙄

I think a good part of it is that over the years I've dropped the 'performance mode' and just settled into being myself.

the retreat from the lightning reminded me that i got struck by lightning, both in game and real life. both were pretty awesome to see up close. at least in the game i wasnt blind, deaf, and paralyzed temporarily lol

It may have started as a modpack, but Vintage Story is a standalone game that stayed aesthetically true to its roots!

Caught my son watching you--and he doesn't even play Vintage Story! He's not a "Survival"-type Gamer. I asked him why he was watching you. It's because you came up on his list of recommended videos. This is most likely because were in the same house, using the same internet and I've been watching a lot of VS streamers/videos. He said that while he wouldn't be able to deal with the "tedious detail" required to achieve the accomplishments in VS (like the whole cycle for making and improving metal tools), he found you to be entertaining, informative and liked the detail you put into your work.
That's a huge compliment!
Just a heads up that some of my older videos (5-10 years ago) are slightly less family friendly in their language 😱

It took a day longer than I expected, but there was a lot of busy work to do while waiting for the important bits!
One thing I saw someone doing for adding more depth to windows is using the wooden support beams, as you can have those right up against the window panes without it interfering with anything.
I've avoided actual support beams for the longest time mainly due to their glitchiness with chiseled blocks, but I've heard that either they've already fixed that issue or it'll be fixed in 1.19.4, so I'll have to play around with them a bit going forward I think.
Beams would probably make for some good detail on the upper floor of the farmhouse :)

For sure! I make a lot of trips between the dugout and the house, so having a closer workshop would be nice. I'll likely want to do a bit of terraforming first to smooth out the lumpiness of the land 🤣

Surface Drifters have notoriously low drop rates, even moreso when they get taken out by other drifters... but yeah that was some bad RNG right there!
I watch this series, load up my own world, and my house is such a lumpy brick in comparison 😂

No tool combining or enchantments to be had. VS works a lot with the idea of 'using a tool until it is broken beyond repair' and having to make a new one.
That basement drifter, iirc, despawned the next time I got far enough away from the house!
Bread is brown. Red rhymes with bread. I read (another rhyme, conspiracy!?) that as brown is like red, because of a rhyme at the time….OH DEAR GOD!!!
Now you see, we simply rye the cloth. The only difference is how it's spelt. Lots of insight to be grained from this.
when he was talking about a color that is common and easy to make, he sounded so sarcastic I though he made blue.

@@Solstin A good brown dye from the era VS draws from is probably more expensive than an orange one, albeit longer lasting.
Can these guys that made this game do the same thing but with space ships and space stations you could build and travel through space to different planets lol that be epic

I personally actually really like the brown gambeson armor, EXCEPT for the green details. :/
Have you played any Enshrouded yet?
Haven't gotten around to trying Enshrouded yet. From what I've heard it's still in need of balancing and the sliding mechanic is unpredictable, sometimes causing the player to slide to their death.
I'll likely try it eventually, but I'm going to give it some time to work out some of the flaws.
@@Solstin It does need more balancing but imo combat is still already much better than in VS so I wouldn't worry too much about that.
Sliding I didn't quite knew what you meant but I guess you can slide to your death on steep hills, especially with a certain substance at the bottom. That's easy to avoid though.
My primary issues were parts of the rendering engine crashing my entire driver & OS, but I'm on Linux so that generally behaves a bit differently to certain oddities that games do. I think disabled two specific graphics options pretty much fixed all that.
i hope they add horsetail, mushroom, all of the flowers, and grass seeds to the game. having a mushroom farm would be cool and also a horsetail farm would be VERY helpful!!
A field left fallow is almost a horsetail farm! I agree wholeheartedly though, being able to grow mushrooms and flowers would be great! I feel like there must be a mod for that

@@Solstin It's called Wild Farming - Revival. Seems like it's updated for latest release. There's a lot of things you can do with the mod, but there's a config that should be able to disable most everything but mushroom farming, if you wanted to.
