- On the heels of the last episode, we set out to the salt mines to fill our pockets with electrolytes and limestone! After a #SolSaysWhat segment and a build time-lapse of getting our upper floor walls put in, we head back to the scene of our first demise to put those fears to rest!

Ehh lit myself on fire before. Wasn't warm but the smell wasn't fun (was grinding steel and set a cotton shirt on fire loosing chest hair)

I truly be loving this series. I started this year to play Vintage and I currently have 27 hours into my world, so exciting to see how you advance on this and let me tell you that you had a lucky seed! God I wish that my world had access to all that so near my base!
Thanks so much! When I was starting the world, this was one of the first worlds I generated. Each one after was more and more granite as far as the eye could see! So I started in this seed just because of the conglomerate rock at spawn, I never expected so much else so close by!

Every day we get closer to having the resources to collect tons of materials, and one day I might be able to get a whole building done start to finish in one go. Just have to hit iron to get some of the chisel tools mod stuff going and go on a massive gathering spree :P
@@Solstin quiet the undertaking, in my own survival world i have been stockpiling copper in my second winter as much as i can, hoping to find any other ore one day. but building an entire city is definitely a mega project to my pace :D

hey i just started to watch your videos and i love your humor and build style, also one suggestion for a mod is disassemble chiseled blocks it allows you to deconstruct already chiseled blocks into their unchiseled counterpart

You should look at the mod “QP’s Chisel Mod 1.10.5” by Ptah. The mod includes the pantograph, which allows you to copy chiseled blocks.
I've got that mod already installed, though the chisel tools from it are only available in iron, meteoric iron, and steel. So we're very close to being able to use it! :)

Anyways, thanks for voicing it! I rewatched it for the first time in well over a decade back in September, and it was just as good as I remembered, ignoring the amount of second-hand embarrassment Sam kept putting me through :P
As for the build, I gotta agree with you on the stone choice. While I do much prefer the whiteness of Chert, the Limestone fits much better for a dirty Farmhouse
I was always familiar with Quantum Leap, I had just never watched more than the odd episode here and there, so it was an interesting dive into the show to get enough context for the line! I might have to give it a proper watch at some point :)
Liberty prime's voice should be loud and commanding, should also reverberate alot. Don't get me wrong, i love sol says what. Not complaining.

Normally I'd lean away from touching on a religious aspect, but I feel like it's appropriately creepy for Salad Fingers to be saying something along those lines.
The Salad Fingers voice when I put on the mask was a spur of the moment thing, but I feel like it could become a recurring cutaway gag lol

I'll make a video going over the exact process I use at some point, but it boils down to using the cinematic camera on a 2nd account and a lot of planning to get the timing right :)

Yeah, beyond using narrow choke points and pillars, there isn't much to add variety to the combat besides just hitting them til they stop moving. Maybe one day there'll be a combat overhaul!

@@Solstin There really was a lot of great comedy on British television that we Americans didn't see until several years later. Monty Python and Benny Hill being the more rambunctious funny rather than pure dry humor that was the British poking fun at themselves that you could find in Faulty Towers or Black Adder. Red Dwarf and The Young Ones was among the low brow humor, but could also be quite profound at times. A great mix of everything really during those eras!
Since you will need a bunch more rock in the future you should look into the stone quarry mod. I have been using it recently and it’s super cool and very useful.
I've got it installed, but I haven't gotten to learning how it works quite yet. I'll be taking full advantage of it once I start gathering tens of thousands of conglomerate rock for the beginnings of the castle, but we have a good bit more work until we're ready to break ground on that monumental task!
I'll have to start toying with it beforehand while gathering stone for various other buildings. :)

How are you chiseling blocks to get the pick to mine full blocks? It doesnt look like youre chipping out any bits. Can you fill me in on this technique?, my house will thank you greatly!
With a hammer in your offhand and holding a chisel, you just need to right click the block and it'll change into a chiseled block! :)
You'll know it worked when the tooltip no longer says 'Requires Tier 2 (Copper)' and instead just says something like 'Material: Stone'.
