I literally only found this channel today looking for clone armour, got to the last episode and went "wonder when the next one will be? I can't wait!" And the CZcams gods smiled favourably upon me
I'm going to probably try printing some new straps in a semi-flex material. I'm not totally in love with these shoulder straps. Definitely high on my list of "to do after approval"
At 15:55... "Fluffier frame!" kills me LOL!!! You should have seen my frame packed into my suit in 2005! All 235 pounds of real "fluff" that I shoved into my suit of armor. Lucky for me, the bulk of my armor was made to hold extra fluffiness (and for lack of a P-I CRL at the time) to guide me in stuffing myself into my suit of armor! Luckily, the ab and kidney torso armor acted like a girdle for my fluff!!! Also, thigh fronts only for ARC and Commander suit butt capes are a great idea since that part of the suit armor is unseen and is obfuscated... Due to the mention in the CRL
Yeah, I had an un-avoidable work gap in there where this build had to take a back seat, but I think I'm good to go straight through to the finish with no breaks.
I love this and I just found this build and have been watching non-stop. Personally I would have painted and finished everything and then weathered because I would love to see a before and after. It looks amazing! I love your builds and channels and wanna make one of these and I also wanna modify the L-3 and make a C3P0 “alexa” I would love to tackle a droid but I have no clue about crazy advanced robotics like that.
Thanks for the comment. Glad you found the channel. Yeah, I definitely thought about getting everything painted up before weathering, but before I started this build log I thought about the best approach to making serial build log and thought it would be best to wrap up each section as I went. Pros and cons to any approach. One good thing was I gradually improved my weathering techniques as I went so I was able to elaborate more on what works and what didn't as I went through each part. Robotics is fun! Pick a project and just dive in, best way to learn.
Thanks! Here is a link to the prototype boards I used in the video. amzn.to/3nMMFLB Any copper wire will do, something like this: amzn.to/3nN3R3s The patterns of wire I made are completely arbitrary, but feel free to copy mine if you like it! A good screenshot is 3:44 of this video.
that chest closing rig is genius. i looked through the files youve provided and i cant seem to find it. is it possible to get the files? i think this would solve my chest gap issues
Hi PatchBOTS, just started my own build and using your videos as a guide, wondering where I can find the print files for those c shaped connecter bits for the chest that you used.
I just uploaded them to the github linked in the description in the armor section. Just some notes of caution: I originally did not upload these files to discourage people from using my files for this part. The reason I did this is because I felt like they were so custom to my build I thought it wouldn't work perfectly for anyone else. If you watch the video you'll see before I made the cut I put a large shim inside the chest with a snap on it. This was kind of arbitrarily placed and then these printed parts were measured off of that. It wont be impossible for you to use these parts but I highly recommend just following what I did in the video and building your own parts that fit. Use mine as a guide. ALSO! There is a piece called "Pull Tab."" 100% do not use a printed version of this tab in your build. Print it, trace it onto a sheet of ABS and cut it out. The printed one will snap in no-time. Good luck, feel free to hit me up with any additional questions.
@@PatchBOTS Awesome! Thank you, yes I did notice how you added the shim too, I originally tried to connect the pieces using clips but they kept overlapping so I resorted to trying to use your way. This is my first ever build and I just want to get it right!
Yeah man. That seems to be the tale I'm being told from a lot of people. I think Kryon discontinued it. While not a substitution, when I was originay deciding on colors it was a tossup between Krylon Global and Montana Sky Blue. I made a little comparison sheet here: i.imgur.com/rCQ3RC6.jpg Other than that you'll have to look on the clone detachment forums for something that you like. Maybe my next project can be making an airbrush match for Global Blue. That's not a bad idea considering how many people like it.
@@PatchBOTS thanks for the help! By the way thank you for such great detail and explanations in the videos. I already know it is going to help me a ton
Hey ! How tall are you ? I'm 5.70 and I don't know if I should take the short version or the normal version of the armor. Thanks, It's very enjoying to watch the enire playlist !
I'm a little over 5'10" which is pretty close to the dividing line between short/tall recommendation. I bought the short kit and I'm really happy with how everything fits
@@PatchBOTS Your armor is really impressive. You did a great job and it fits you very very good. And most of time, clone troopers armor 's proportions are a little bit weird...

Hey that' awesome! I think vidoes on this project will be coming out every two weeks or so from here on out. Stay tuned!
This armor came out absolutely spectacular. My jaw would drop if I saw you wearing this in person
Thanks man, that's awesome! Hopefully we'll run into each other at a con somewhere
Did anyone notice the cute doggo. It's so cute. Also love the channel.
Yes! That's my main man Rider. He makes a much larger appearance in my most recent Mouse Droid video!
Thanks I love the channel and especially the armor vids. Im still growing but once I'm done i hope to get myself some awesome clone trooper armor.
Thank you for the knowledge about Imperial Surplus i have been looking for Clone Armor for a while thank you sir.
When it comes to clone armor, animated or realistic, you really can't go wrong with Imperial Surplus. Kev's stuff is great and he's an awesome dude.
Thank you for your video. You have inspired me to buy some clone armor and do Commander Keeli Phase 2 bulid thank you for your time sir.
I think i will print the shoulder straps flat and heat them.
26:53 haha doggo's reaction is gold

congratz on completing the armor!
Took forever to get to where we are now but the results were so worth it! This looks epic!!!

awww, cute doggo
Your armor is looking awesome! Nice job
Just found this build series and I couldn't be happier! Absolutely brilliant build! I'll be telling everyone to watch your videos for advice
Congratulations it looks awesome
you should make all of the commander stuff modular so you can become both a regular 501st clone and the guy your trying to be
That's exactly what I'm doing! I am getting Commander bow, phase 2 grunt, phase 1 grunt, and an airborne out of this armor with minimal additions

this is hands down amazing, i would love to do something like this if i ever got a 3d printer!

Will you do a part 15 and 16 with the belt and backpack as well? :D
There will be qutie a few more parts; Radio, Belt, Pauldron, Guns/Holsters, Kama,
@@PatchBOTS Woop woop! Looking forward to it! Bow and Cmd. Wolffe are my two absolute fave
Thanks for the awesome serie (so far)! May I ask what 3d Printer do you use?
I use a lulzbot taz 5 and a CR10. All the parts on this video were printed in ABS on the lulzbot
circuitry insets, where can I find them? Your armor is pure inspiration.😁

Thanks for looking out! I'm moving in about two weeks so hopefully no else notices for a few weeks, hah

How is your C1-10P (Chopper) going?
I'll get back there soon enough. Took a little Chopper break after running into some issues.
ok thanks
So, where can I get the file for the bracket and tab for the chest’s sides?
Plz respond where do you get the armor pieces and what material is it made out of
Imperial Surplus. It is made of ABS plastic.
“No offense to my crack head viewers”😂🤣😂
Did you print every armour piece with a 3D printer
Hello, No, I did not print all the armor. Most of it is ABS heat formed. But I did print a lot of it. Check out the rest of the series for more info!

Yes, I will be finishing it. I ran into a lot of issues and need to regroup on that one a bit. Took a little break to get away from the frustration

14:40 can you please upload the 3D Files?
