Black Americans are NOT Africans! We are Black Americans the descendants of those enslaved in this country. If there is confusion we are the people have been here for centuries and REPARATIONS that the U.S. Government failed to pay as a part of SPECIAL FIELD ORDER 15. We are the CHILDREN of FREEDMEN and the ONLY Black people in this country who descend from those who were ENSLAVED in the United States of America. These Black American DESCENDANTS are the ONLY people in the U.S. who qualify for REPARATIONS. You would have a lack of firing synapses to confuse Black Americans with Africans. So the word play with "Africans and Black people" is not missed. But I will add the clarity for you. Africans from the 54 countries in Africa who willingly immigrated to this country and are still crossing the borders of the U.S. are NOT and have NEVER been entitled to ANY form of REPARATIONS in the U.S.! African nations participated in the SLAVE TRADE and it will be a COLD DAY IN HELL before Black Americans allow Africans to receive payments from ATROCITIES Slave selling nations of Africa caused by selling our people into SLAVERY! It might be good if you reflect on the HISTORY of Africa and understand the difference between a Black American and an African. BLACK EXCELLENCE is a Black American mantra. Started by us and I don't think Black Americans assigned our HISTORY to any other group, no matter their skin color. Stop attempting to conflate HISTORY and POLITICS that have nothing to do with the African Continent and those Africans who immigrated here. They have their own identity, HISTORY and CULTURE they claim they are proud of. I'm sure they are proud enough to reflect their HISTORY and to fight for what they are entitled to in their own lands!

Why should somebody like me who was adopted into this country or an immigrant that came to this country or somebody that had no ties to slavery be forced to pay reparations to you for something you never had to experience of suffer from? My ancestors two generations above me were being murdered in a dictatorship and the generation or two before that was my people being genocided in the holocaust alongside Jewish people but you don’t see me or my people acting entitled to anybody else’s resources over something we never experienced. Also thinking you should be exempt from taxes is another example of your entitled attitude thinking you deserve special treatment above others & demanding more money than 56 times the average US salary for something you never even suffered through.

I have traced my ancestors here in America back to the late 1690’s early 1700’s. I have found two ancestors on shipping manifest on slaving ships, I have found several on Louisiana plantations inventory, I have found many of my ancestors on the 1870 US Census.
Apparently you have your ancestors African names? Paternal or Fraternal side or either? What yr? Arrived to what port? No doubt not healthy or lived.

I'm owed $1,698,600.00 in today's dollars if I was to personally sue the estate of the slave merchant who enslaved my grandpa. His asset value in 1860 - 1870 was $47,500! Nevertheless, that compensatory debt should be double or five times as much today ($2,948,600.00) due to punitive damages and emotional distress!

That's a great idea..I know most blacks that lived in California left the south anyways for racial reasons..my mom is from Mississippi and my dad is from Florida and I was born In CALIFORNIA.
Same, my gma/mom are from West Memphis, AR and my dad is from Fairfield/Birmingham, AL and I was born in San Diego, CA. My gma home has been redlined in the ghetto of san diego, ca for 51yrs. TODAY.

They need to include 2 more factors for reparations. 1-the 13th amendment. 2-The value of actual slave labor. Titans of industry wouldn't be around without the free labor they stole from our ancestors. Industries like sugar, rum and cotton wouldn't be here without it, not to mention construction like all of the monuments in the nation. Those need to be factored in as well and the most important part is all of this must be 100% tax free.

They have no issue handing out funding left and right for other nationalities yet it is required for black Americans African descendants to have all of this panel, discussion about how much is owed to our families. I was born in San Francisco 1973. My family lived in the Fillmore, and Hunter’s Pointe Area my great grandmother was from Texas. Unfortunately I do not know my family lineage, under these so-called drafts of San Francisco, my family definitely qualifies for these so-called reparations. Yet again we as Black people have to hurdle, fight and prove we qualify for their atrocities that they have committed amongst our families for over 250 years. Mind you these atrocities are still going on, and we are expected to ignore them, we are the only nationality that continues to stay separated. We have no unity. We are too busy fighting to survive in this system, no matter how many astonishing contributions we continue to provide to this country.

I wonder they will be splitting hairs on which descendants receive reparations. Like, would this include reparations for descendants of those who were enslaved by native americans. Tribal nations are considered sovereign, both back then and now. Or, are these proposals just focused on slavery on U.S. soil in general.
There is not enough discussion around the chattel slave system that was also inflicted upon us by the Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek, Seminole, and others Indian tribes. But no matter who was the enslaver, there should be compensation. ✊🏽

Good informational video on the process of the potential of getting our just due. Although, in real time the Gov has calculated payment to Native Americans and are COMPENSATING them with money, exclusive land ownership, and allegedly percentages of casino, and cannabis profits ? Why is the process for us being compensated so complicated when the Gov has no problem in calculating, and distributing our tax dollars to financially aid, and support other countries expeditiously. The reparations bill, a while back i was in the mine set that the minimum a mount would be for each person 2.5 million, seeing now how WS has removed the cloak off of their racism and now are going full thrilled back in time with illegal immigrants to replace us and the sure amount of our money spent on them and etc. Now in the mine set of minimum 3.5 million for each black foundational black American.
