- I did not see this coming when I rode into Skagway, Alaska! What a quirky little town, with lots of gold rush history. Turns out, no visit to Skagway is complete without visiting the famous Red Onion Saloon...

What a contrast between the floating cities / cruise ships crammed with thousands of tourists and a lone, world-travelling-motorcyclist showing us the world that such tours will never see... Thanks for this great peak into Skagway.
Great comment!
You can actually take that ferry all the way down to Bellingham Washington. I highly recommend it. You don't even need a car
It's kind of like you're camping on the ferry next to these huge cruise ships. But it stops in all the small fishing towns where the cruise ships do.
Much Iike Noraly's tour. Skagway can be unbelievably busy during the cruise season. Thanks for the video!
Even better, living in Alaska!
I am SO dreading the time when this season will come to an end... It has been an absolute delight to witness your adventures for so many weeks and each season is getting better and better - lovin' it!
I agree!!
Me too, I think I’ll go back to season 1 😂
@@retardtiger me too, but you said it first 👍
Very true
Well she didn't go from Skagway to Whittier, she only went to Haines so I am guessing there is a lot of riding left to do
I don’t know which adventures this season have been more incredible, if the South American, Panama crossing or the US, Canada . Nobody in the world have documented those travels like “itchy boots. Planet earth at its best . Bravo Noraly 👏🏻. We, your followers will always remember this .
I really liked the South Africa season and the second season in South America. I probably will never go to those areas. It was fascinating to see and learn about.
I agree with every word of your comment.
indeed
For me it's an easy decision - all adventures, all episodes, all seasons are most incredible :)
Even on a dull grey rainy windy day you give us a great history lesson that I had no idea of. Kudos to the Madam of the brothel....she represented well.
Madam Trixy sure is a great presenter! You sure have had some great luck with the storytellers and oral historians this trip. Another great episode, Noraly!
"First the brothel, of course"😲 That gave me a giggle. Noraly, you never cease to give me joy with each episode. Thank you, once again, for allowing this old guy to ride along.👍👍👴
I also find myself regretting that Noraly’s amazing journey is coming to an end. It has been such a wonderful time sharing her South to North adventure and enjoying so much that I hoped it would never end. Of I appreciate how much work and energy is required to produce these videos and I would say she has certainly earned a vacation and time away from CZcams. Noraly is an amazing person and an inspiration. Whatever the next adventure is, I will be here to support. Cheers to Noraly and safe riding. Dan ✌️🏍🇨🇦
I love the little things that Noraly does in her videos to show her dedication to her viewers…like the visor flip she did at the end of the video (while riding in rain) so she could make eye contact with the camera. Golden ✨
Love the classic Itchy Boots spontaneity of this video. Just a slow ride, quick U-turns and speaking with and paying absolute respect to the local people. Admiring the local sites. If all had the temperament, patience and empathy of our Noraly, how much better the world would be. Great content!
A world full of Noraly's would be a nice place to live, indeed.
Noraly is an amazing young woman. endurance, patience, respect and love she's shown is really different and refreshing compared to what's normally presented. Respect Noraly 👍🏽
Love your videos, mostly because of how a wonderful person you are. When in difficult situations I ask myself what would Noraly do? You have inspired me to travel on motorcycle and get through tough times. Bow down to all that you are.....
lots love, Sofia
Hey Noraly, when excessive travel isn’t in the cards for you, they’re is always the opportunity to make an interesting video of a slightly different nature and again you’ve given us a history lesson with a little laughter and enjoyment. I find myself purposely waiting with my iPad to see what you’re up to this time. As usual your sunny disposition and research never fail to drop us into a different time and place. Thank you Noraly, you’re the BEST !❤❤❤
Rick
3-day wait for ferry? No problem, -> local history lesson in the meantime! Illustrates how you always stay upbeat and keep moving forward. Onward as usual!
When you view everything as an opportunity your whole outlook on life changes.
enough time to explore surroundings area isnt it :)
@@ingridwatsup9671 yeah.... 😅😅
Welcome to Alaska! A state so big you have to enter it at least THREE times! Go Girl.
Itchy boots, your personality and narration is what I believe makes your channel such a success. Also Alaska has to be given some credit, the little machine that never quits! I sure hope Honda is watching.
Is 2:54 am on Tuesday 11 October here in Australia and I am watching Itchy Boots. I am so addicted to this wonderful show that I stay late to see it at soon. as is upload it. Great youtuber, deserve way more subscribers for sure! Thank you Noraly for keep us informed and entertained.
A Brothel, a ferry, some gold nuggets, a history lesson, and a little drama. Just another Itchy Boots video log. Nice :)
Do not want these videos to end. SO Great.
If this isn't one of the best shows, I don't know what! So many thanks for all the efforts behind the scenes to put this together! I felt like I was there in Skagway! Fair winds!
Definitely a great tour of the brothel, Red Onion Saloon! It’s amazing that the tourist traffic supports the gold rush towns like Skagway. A wonderful story and now, Klondike is a beer! Lol…. Another great ferry crossing and thanks for sharing another day in your adventures! Ride safe Noraly!
....and when I was young , Skag was heroin and it definitely wasn't the 'Way'
Another lesson in the history of my country. The ride to Alaska has revealed the gaps in my knowledge!
And what a rough life people had at the turn of the 20th century. I'll keep it in mind the next time I feel like complaining about something. Thank you for helping me be a grownup!
I'm looking forward to your further adventures northward.
As soon as I get the notifications of itchy boots, I click 😀😀.. Here we go another adventure...
You inspire me, Im 69 and havent put a leg over a bike in a number of years but watching you really makes me want to get the wind in my face again
Go for it, Gene! I'm 70 and bought a new-to-me bike about 4 months ago, hadn't ridden since the mid-90's!
I enjoy it when you stop and give the history of a town. Not only is the video filled with beautiful scenery, but it's educational.👍
Darn it...we will miss this trip when it is over. Noraly never ceases to amaze me.
Yahoo new episode.
Thank you for showing your love for British Columbia and it's people.
Hey Noraly, nice video 📹...nothing surprises me with your films 🎥..but wasn't expecting to find you in a brothel...!!🤣🙈 Great stuff as ever 👏 Cheers, Steve 😊
Hi Noraly, thanks again for an amazing and informative episode, you are such an energetic and amazing woman, keep safe out there and God Bless. Can't wait for the next episode. 🏍🇿🇦🏆🙏
Thanks for reminding me why I never want to go on a cruise!
Had a really crap day at work. Been catching up on your travels and now I feel better, so THANK YOU! ❤️
Your positive attitude and high energy always leads you to a heavenly experience in this world . 👍👍
Some of my first books as a kid were Jack London's adventure stories set in the Gold Rush era of the far North, particularly the dog stories Call of the Wild and White Fang. So nice to be reminded of reading those in my lazy days of summer in Texas,
Thanks for reminding me, hadn't thought of that in years. Happy trails!
Me too!
I memorized The Cremation of Sam McGee (Robert Service) when I was a child. I still remember most of it without peeking. Great Yukon gold rush ballad.
I don't know why but it made me laugh so hard after Noraly pointed out the ships and said "Madness." I was on one of those boats a few weeks ago and we couldn't go to Skagway because landslides closed down the cruise ship port. I'm so glad I got to see it all in this video!
No matter what you up against, you are always smiling and make the best of every situation. It is a pleasure following you on your adventure rides.
I really admire your determination to bike that distance ....❤️🥰👍
We are going to miss you so much when you say Project Alaska is accomplished. We have seen so much and learned so much Noraly. A life time is not enough to see and learn so much. Congratulations.🙏
Well done Noraly, it;s been an inspiring journey, happy we got to share it with you.
I would think that Noraly is very tired right now and she needs a good rest because she’s been traveling the world …I know I’d want a little vacation for sure. She deserves a rest!
It's Thanksgiving Day in Canada, and I'm thankful that Itchy Boots keeps putting out these videos to entertain and inspire me!
Your country is so beautiful. You can be so proud to be Canadian.
I agree with Tycho that when this season is over we will not have the pleasure of traveling along with you until the next adventure. I hope you know how heathy these episodes are; to see so many unique points of view and lifestyles at a time when it's hard to glimpse the beauty of life through the fog of chaos that we're now experiencing. Big Hug for you, Noraly.
12:54......old style snowblower, cool.
The "madame" was a blast, one hell of a tour guide.
Skagway brings back some great memories.
Scenery hasn't changed 🙏💗
She's gonna have so much fun in Alaska... I can tell. And we will too, watching these videos. It makes me want to drive up there. I stll have friends there.
Liked the old Triumph Mayflowerr car laying resting in someone's back yard in Skagway
Skagway is a very windy [and cold] town, with not much to do there if you're not a tourist or a drinker. You should stay at the Hallsingland Hotel in Haines [Port Chillkoot actually]. The owners used to be good friends of mine and I even worked there as a bus boy years ago. I had a guy try to give me a dime after hauling 2 heavy bags to the third floor. I was expecting at least a quarter for each bag. So I refused it and told him he obviously needed it more than I did. I was just working for room and board from the Hotel. The only cash I got was from tips.
Hey Noraly! Every journey has been so much fun and enjoyable! Your narrative throughout your journey always make it so exciting and at the edge of my seat!! Thank you and welcome to USA again!!
1995 my wife and I flew our Cessna 182 RG from Florida to Fairbanks. We rented a car and drove to Skagway.
Noraly you know how to keep your subscribers entertained. A gold rush town Skagway, and it's history really hit the spot. I've watched few older Hollywood movies made about the Yukon and Alaska gold rush but this video was about the real history of Skagway. Good video!
Alaska is now in Alaska and the adventures continue. Can’t wait to see what treats await us,your followers. Ride safely Noraly.👍👍🇨🇦
Thank you for taking us on your splendid journey on the back-routes to Alaska.
I just finished watching the last episode and then, SUPERISE, another edition to an awesome adventure! Not looking for it to end, but there is always another adventure waiting! Much love to everyone and their families from Quartzsite Arizona 👍💪🌻🤠
People like Noraly deserve to live for at least 300 years to see everything.
Oh wow Noraly, such an interesting episode. One can only imagine what some of those poor women had to go through back then, and still today even. 😢
As always, stay safe !!!
That's how Don Juans Grandfather made the big bucks.
Oh WOW!! How enjoyable was this episode, always interesting to see such great places… and our excellent host Noraly 👍🏻👍🏻
It was interesting to hear about the history of the place and about the gold rush times. As we always have seen , Itchy Boots videos are not just about riding a bike , one gets to hear and see a multitude of aspects of life. Ride safe Noraly , love to hear from your adventures
I was on one of those cruise ships many years ago and Skagway was a port of call. We had quite a lot of time to spend in the area so rented a car and drove into the Yukon up as far as Carcross. Your video brought back lots of memories of that trip. Thank you.
My wife and I also except we found a bike shop that had two new Harleys for rent even had leathers We made it to White Horse and back never forget it Great trip !
I was like "looks like a tourist trap" . Then when you showed the 4 cruise ships all became revealed :D Love it ++
Thanks for taking us/me to a Brothel!?! First time for everything ,I guess 😉😉 Interesting: History & Humor combined.
Always good to be flexible with your scheduling. Cannot always schedule ahead. 😕😀
Best Wishes Safe Travels 💖🏍🤠
I first heard of Skagway in the 1954 movie THE FAR COUNTRY starring James Stewart, Ruth Roman, Corinne Calvet and Walter Brennan. In the movie it was also labeled as the GATEWAY TO THE YUKON. Loved the history you have shown once again
It is a rainy day feeling again🎼🎵🎵
Skagway is such an interesting town and the history of the brothel insightful. Thank you for the unique content of your channel!
I love your idea of varying the "Welcome to Alaska." crossing the border. Can't wait for the big one!
It’s been such a delight watching your channel. It’s been a real treat visiting vicariously places I never knew existed in my own country. Thank you
Noraly just goes with the flow...... Shit happens and things change and Noraly deals with it............. Gotta respect that!
Hi Noraly yes what beautiful video Alaska is very beautiful like I said Noraly it’s been a blessing to be with you on our journey I probably won’t see any in my lifetime but thanks to you I did and always you be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸
I know you will have come and gone by the time you see this post, SO EXCITED you made it to ALASKA ! Seriously an incredible video series to watch. As with others that posted, dreading when this ends yet EXCITED ANTICIPATION for your next adventure! Much love and respect
I did a land & sea cruise to Alaska years ago & it was the best trip EVER. We went to the Red Onion Saloon & have the beer glasses to prove it - lol. If you ever get the chance to go....do it, you won’t regret it! Absolutely beautiful country & especially Denali & the 4wheel jeep trip in the Yukon.
How much did you pay for a lady? 😀😀😀😀
Hope you go all the way to Prudhoe Bay so we can have more great videos.😎
The Pacific Northwest is an amazing expansive area. Thanks for spending the time to highlight this area and help thousands enjoy the history, people and geology of this very unique place.😊
It's another beautiful morning for my wife and I to enjoy it episode of Itchy Boots.👍
BIEN NARRADO Y ESPLICADO NORALY QUE LINDA HISTORIA ABRAZO TE SIGO DESDE ARGENTINA
Never commented before but can't resist it : All the superlatives that have been given to Noraly are totally, utterly well deserved - filming, content music all terrific. I haven't notice any other comments on her diction - as a half deaf old Brit bloke, who normally uses subtitles, I don't need them when watching her channel - as she would say, "stunning yeah". She's tempting to get on my ridiculously underused CBF 500. Can't wait for the next series.
Just go with the flow, time to edit waiting for a eight foot space for Alaska on the ferry..
You are just full of surprises Noraly and that's what we love about your travels.
I rode that train back in the 70’s on a 5th grade field trip. AWESOME memories
Those Cruise Ships are huge!
HaHa, soooo glad you didn’t take up residency at that brothel young lady. Just a quick stop to fill us in on some history. Great story telling. ❤️
She did the next best thing...stayed at the Morning Wood Hotel! Fun town.
Omg this takes me back. I used to spend my weekends in Skagway when I lived in Whitehorse and spent the weekends on my moms boat , shrimping and crabbing💕
Very interesting town, even though it’s crowded. The Red Onion tour was quite informative as to the business that it specialized in. I can just see you back in the day, sitting on the bench with your big box camera, capturing the moment for your future film lol. Cool video Noraly!
Another educational episode i have learnt so much from all your series many thanks and safe riding
Every single day I watched two episodes at least. Thanks, a dear lady sharing your amazing experience with us
Thanks, Noraly. This was a fascinating episode.
Looks like a great little town, and the scenery is off the charts beautiful.
Those massive cruise ships are surely their lifeline, but your mode of travel is better by far.
Onward
I know Noraly has finished this trip , but for others the trip from Haines to Haines Junction is incredibly scenic and worth the trip , and yes prebook your Ferry rides .
I do hope you'll return to explore more of the US (and Canada!) Would love for you to experience Appalachia & the Ozarks!
I've enjoyed every episode. I'm still recovering from knee surgery and I watch while riding a stationary bike which I find myself leaning into the corners!
12:56 that probably very famous thing on the rails is a snowplow that gets put in font of a train to clear the tracks of really high levels of snow. There are videos online of such machines slowly eating through snow higher than the trains!
Thank you for another history lesson! I love learning about all the places you visit!
So appreciate being able to ride along with you for Season 6! There's a hopefulness I sensed in the Americans that you met that seems to parallel the Gold Rush of 1898 in Skagway! "There's something better just around the corner or over the next Mountain" kind of feeling. Anyway really great stuff!!!
Seeing the world through Noraly's eyes opened a whole new world for me that I would not otherwise have experienced. She is one of my favourite people - so accomplished, imaginative and brave. Also, I am a Honda lover.
we took the ferry from Skagway to Haines to cut down some miles on the gravel Alaskan highway! We hit Skagway for their July 4th parade.
Really hoping when this adventure is finished you come up with another great adventure for us to enjoy. For me nothing else will replace it. You are the best
Excellent narration. Interesting to me to see the towns my father was in during the first half of WWII when the US Army Engineers were tasked with building the Alaskan Highway. Thanks
Funny, I stood right where you did in front of that older train in 2007, after having de boarded from one of those cruise ships. One of those old engines with the huge propeller like attachment in the front was used to clear the tracks of snow.
The train guy appreciates yet another train feature! Nothing tops the contest one where you raced the train though! My fav!
Lovely to see you’ve had a couple of days off,it must be a bit stressful to be keeping up your schedule though you don’t show it,very best wishes.
Fun day in Skagway! Our family has visited there on a cruise ship a couple of times and of course we have ridden on the White Pass train! Cool ride up and back and the town is a hoot to walk around in. Really like the Brothel and the Madame that told the stories of the women of the late 1890's. Enjoyed the visit!
Skagway was one of the best stops on my Alaska cruise many years ago. Rode the White Pass Rail to Whitehorse and the bus back down. It is nothing to see 5-6 cruise ships in port at one time. I follow several cruise vlogs as well. The big round fan on the old railway engine was used as a snow blower so the trains could plow through. Will be sorry to see this series end. God bless you Noraly and stay safe.❤️❤️❤️🙏
How would you rate this episode? Like today's date! 🤔
10/10💚
This episode, Noraly, is a cool departure from most of your videos. I really enjoyed the tour of Skagway, especially The Red Onion Saloon. It's very interesting to learn the local history of places you visit on your journey. Love from Tennessee.
What a great history of Skagway, Alaska during the gold rush in the 1800's. The Madam conducting the tour of the brothel did an outstanding job. Another great adventure Noraly, and thanks for sharing. You are really amazing!
I so loved Tracy at the brothel!!! So charismatic!!!
