We brought him into the studio to talk about... honestly- everything under the sun. Great discussion as always. The non-running related content is thoroughly enjoyable. Additionally, it would've been interesting to hear more on the pre-show conspiracy theory banter that was mentioned early in this show. And, to be candid, it's sad that things that were once labeled as 'conspiracy theories' were really just foreshadowing (spoilers). Certain laptops, islands, guided tours of the capital, etc.,..
I'm glad I believe in the run, because I know I can't believe in major media outlets.
Also, this channel helped inspire me to run and keep running. Through stress fractures, shin splints, etc.,.. the content from the channel has been fantastic.

I can relate at the 51 minute mark when I worked in a running specialty store the shoe companies would give us seed shoes all the time,because they knew customers would ask us all time what shoe were we wearing

Robbe 100% right again most important step to preserve your sweaty clothes is let them dry out fully. After that use white vinegar. 👍

Some real talk, love the differences in views on why we run from everyone here.
I was really surprised you guys didn't tackle the Tracksmith social media "snafu" when it happened... seemed to be right up your alley. I guess a lot of people maybe don't want to split hairs over something that "celebrates achievement" vs. something that "excludes non-achievement". I think especially in marketing that's a BIG difference, you didn't quite get there in your convo, which is totally fine.
It seems like by retracting they were trying to say "we're not like that" but Herm was 100% right in that Tracksmith is definitely about that - it's hard to look at the rest of their marketing materials and not get that message. It was either retracted because somebody put that out without the blessing of the brass, or they're maybe blind to how they or that message would be perceived and they were trying to cover their behinds.
I regularly stop and rewind your podcast.
I recently started following BITR and thought this guy was on the BITR team. For a minute I thought this was Wide Foot Jarrett. I'm sorry!

Maybe I'm trippin but if you say you do clickbait videos, can you also say you don't do content for clicks/views? Can those be divorced from each other? 🤔

I mean, if you're in the media business everything is done for views, but clickbait refers to content that has an overly deceptive or salacious headline in exchange for content that either doesn't match the headline or meet the expectation that the reader or viewer expected when they went into it. And yes, Pedro rules.
I guess I’m never going to be one of Herm’s subscribers because I have a very low tolerance for clickbait. There’s differing degrees of clickbait but if you promise me something and don’t deliver it then I’m not coming back, ever. Life is too short to be played for a fool
Big guy seems to be all in his “influencer era”. Even his analogies had to tie back to being part of some running/social media collective. Kinda annoying 🤷♂️
